it’s not supposed to be funny and it really isn’t funny. It’s showing how Ash is genuinely surprised over a simple act of kindness because he had been subjected to sexual favors at such a young age and is used to that kind of “equal exchange”, “I’ll scratch your back and you scratch mine” system.
