Revisiting this video getting ready for 3D this coming year. Explaining to my wife why I’m listening to a guy talking about stiff fat shafts was interesting.
More great info here. The 25s are a great diameter for 3-d. That mid size shaft is a great selection. Here in Texas where nearly every shoot has wind involved. From 10 to 30 mph is not uncommon. Many use the 23s size or even smaller to fight the deflection. Smaller diameter shafts with heavier points like 120 or 140 grains is becoming more common. Keep the great vids coming. Easton Hexx is a .001 build and low weight. They make a 6.3 grain in a 480 spine and a 7.2 grain in a 400. Good speed arrow and a small shaft.
For cheap light 25 size arrows check out Victory X-Ringer HV, on sale at Lancaster for $4.00 per shaft. Available at 250 (6.8 gpi) and 350 (6.2 gpi) spines, nocks and bushings included.
I'm always seeking what works for me as I am not an outlier but a standard deviation from the regular or average archer. (32” DL at 70#. I shoot a G5 Prime Logic CT9 as my Hunting bow and looking to move into indoor and 3D (beginning with TAC VT, 2020). At 6’6”. Hunting setup: G5 Prime Logic CT9 RH 32” DL, 70# DW, Beestinger stabilizers, Axcel CarbonPro, 4 fetch helical Zen vanes with a Carter whisper, FMJ Dangerous Game (768.9 gr) flying in at 230 fps led by QAD Exodus
Watching this video brings up a question I've been thinking about for a while. would you be interested in making a video on the shoot-ability difference between say a .006 arrow like a gold tip hunter/basic arrow factory fletched and cut to your draw length with 100 grain point, vs a .001 spine indexed, fletching tuned, weight matched set of arrows? Out of like a hooter shooter at distances from 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 yards. Obviously not all hunting distances but just a test to see the actual difference when there is no shooter to mess it up? Thanks in advance if you do this video idea!

I ordered a V3 from you guys. I’m guessing I’ll be able to come pick it up in about two months. 75lbs, 27.5”. Looking for one arrow appropriate for 3D and hunting. Thoughts? Is there an arrow type that is especially easy to pull out of a target? Pulling stuck arrows pisses me off. You’re a CZcams Archery legend. Thanks.
Use some lube like Arrow Snot in any arrow for ease of pull out.

Depends on how much you want to spend haha. But a great shaft would be the Goldtip Velocity pro, Easton Hyperspeed, Black Eagle X- impact, Easton Pro Comp, Gold Tip Hunter Pro....all great shafts.

What about a TAC arrow build video? Targets could be up to 100 uds (from what I heard) so a 3 degree helical fletching may be an issue past 50 yards? Thank you!
No a 3° helical is good for any distance. You just want to avoid extreme helical...like 10° +
Is there not a speed limitation when shooting 3-D? Seem like a few years ago they had a speed limit of 288’ per second with a 3% margin of error. So the fastest you could set up your bow to shoot was 291’ FPS.
Sounds like ASA. Check IBO Rules out. That's how the Bows are rated. The new Bows can run 350+ FPS IBO 70# 30" Draw shooting 350 grain arrows with nothing on the string. Great for 3D and hunting. Speed gets you there before it has a chance to drop. Bullets compared to lobbing them.

How do you know what is the right spine arrow to shoot
Most manufacturers have charts where you input your arrow length/draw length and poundage and they will give you a static spine number.
This number is just a rough starter number.
From there you'll need to think about your dynamic spine (the way the arrow flexes once the bow exerts force on it).
This is very complex, so I'm not going to write how you figure it out coz there's A LOT of factors involved.
If you're shooting compound don't worry about it too much... Just shoot the static spine number that the manufacturer gives you on their website - just make sure that you don't go too weak (too high a number)... Err on the stiffer side as compound bows do not have *archers paradox* to contend with (this applies to recurves, and is about how an arrow bends around the riser yet hits its target - search it on YT).
If you're shooting recurve I'd suggest you learn more about dynamic spine.

Do you have a video on how to set up a long range bow just wondering because I can only shoot about 85 yards and then my sight gets to close to my Arrow
There's really not much you can do to get more yardage out of a bow other than more poundage and lighter arrows. It's more determined by your peep height and draw length, which you can't really mess with if you want to keep your accuracy. I have a fairly low peep height (5 ½") and I can only get about 95 yds out of my sight with my hunting rig.
Faster bow, lighter arrows, smaller vanes, smaller scope housing, cock vane down, set scope closer to riser, lower anchor point...

@@southfloridaarcheryguy114 Yes you would need dropaway rest. If you set scope as close to riser as possible you would have bigger gap between arrow and the scope housing.
If shooting unknown yardage why not shoot a 204 diameter shaft which can be down to 6 gn/inch?

Can you build a perfect 27 diameter indoor arrow
That would all depend on your bow specs.
Everybody is going fat shafts in known also . A lot of 23’s . But also seing 27’s.
Can you use these for a hunting arrow if you build the weight up front for a finished arrow weight of like 450 or 440?
