Recently I got to see what he means. We perceive the world through the mind (indirectly) and the only thing we ever experience directly is our sense of being here. For example, Even the concept of the present Moment is just a Pointer, but not the actual present moment. Just the “as Real as it is” modification in the end is not yet clear for me.
Yes, that sounds right. There is really no present moment. Time, the past and the present have no real existence. It is just appearance within what one often call conciousness. There is only is. We can never know wether the "world" exist, but we can know for sure that it is not true. Real and not real is kinda tricky because those words can mean different things. But true and un-true when defined are crystal clear. And we can know that all appearance is un-true, because it is finite and changing. Un-truth is subjective. Truth must be objective
If you ever climb Mount CZcams at times you'll find shrubs with these berries of knowledge on them. This here is one of those berries of knowledge. Consume at your own risk. Me!? I eat as many as I can find. Amenॐ
My thoughts were changing while I heard this video. First I ask "Is everything an illusion? Does nothing really exist? Or, are everything different from what the mind/ brain perceive? But my final conclusion was: whatever! This speculation wasn't very informative, didn't make me any wiser/ more enlightened. But it is true the brain can not perceive everything, just fractions put together as an image most of us share. Still, whatever. Live your life and do what you love, be good to each other. That's what's really important.
3:53 I’d say there is proof in this universe we experience - we, our senses included, have evolved as a result of this universe, regardless if we understand it’s true nature or not. We and our evolution is a direct result of the forces of science that attempt to explain the universe. Humans are the only who are self aware of “out there” though, and one day robots/AI will as well
So funny really. The veil is the invisible guru over a mythical character called Jed McKenna. Is that creative fiction or a lie? No, he is not Adyashanti, for those who were going there. An eclectic mixer doing a Castaneda effect. Good writer of fiction in that sense. Merry pranksters are useful and masters of charades.
You shouldn't even bother. Instead of focusing on the message you chose to focus on a superficial thing like the person's voice, so i think even if you'll find someone else reading it will be no use for you. Be grateful that its available on youtube for free.
I own the books and reread them because I like them so much. I'm thinking about other people. It would be great to share audio books, but these SUCK and I wont do it. This voice is repulsive and doesn't get the message across at all, just the opposite. It turns people off.
Thank you for popping back into my life!
PKD: Reality is that which still persists even when you stop believing in it. How true.

Thinking like this too much will destroy your life
Maybe if you resist the truth.
Gawd I live Jed :))
Ever look at the clouds and they seem like projections. Me either

Not a good start to a video. Doesn’t get one’s attention.
yeah, I agree, could have started differently
I can't stand this voice. I need someone else to read his books. Are there any other people reading his books online?
I don´t think so

gbertarelli At least its better than Terrance's.
agreed, he comes off as even more smug and pretentious than the book suggests
