That's actually a Cat computer program. It lowers and bumps the idle to make it sound like a worked Cam.

On a construction site I was on there was an old R model Mack pulling a dump trailer that would lift the front wheel on every load as the truck rolled into the soft fill from the compacted roadway. No where this kind of insane power just all torque and gears

And there you have it, the reason we’re getting it up the arse with exhaust emissions over here in the UK!!! I’m a trucker through and through, diesel runs in these veins, grown up in a haulage family and just love my trucks - but just can’t get my head around this whole ‘rolling-coal’ thing. All that black smoke screams out “fucked injectors”, “clogged air filter” blah blah blah......
