I don't think this is sociopathic behavior, that's a bit of a strong word. However, this is more so him disrespecting video games as a story-telling medium and proof he'd rather try to be funny than be invested in what he plays. To him, it's "just a game" and nothing else. The characters are just 3D models, the voices they have are just voice actors, the events are just cutscenes, and a game is just an excuse to make unfunny jokes and get people to pay attention to him.

Phil just completely knows how to ruin moments. Then he goes and complains that he wasn't listening and he doesn't know what to do, or that the story was shit. I really despise people like Phil. Not only does he talk through cutscenes on a channel where he is meant to be showing off the game, story included, and then proceeds to rip the shit out of even the most excellently programmed games just because he has no hand eye coordination, no reflexes, and the attention span of a nat. Worst of all, he will make "jokes" about horrible real life tragedies, such as the holocaust. But he isn't joking. You can tell in the tone of his voice, he really doesn't care. I have made my share of jokes which some people would probably find tasteless, but I make sure it is clear that I am only joking, and if I offend anyone, I apologise. I don't think Phil has the capability to apologise.

Eh, those scenes were sufficiently messed up to have made it on the list, especially since he couldn't be arsed to at least quiet down when they happened. I put them low on it for pretty much that reason.

Sniper Wolf and Psycho Mantis, THEY were done RIGHT. They were lucid. Listening to them mattered because it would alleviate some of their suffering. Snake was merciful to them. Whereas in MGS4, there is no mercy. They are just batshit insane women who were long since a lost cause.
MetalGearRexPilot Is mgs4 worth playing nowadays? Does it hold up? Personally I only finished MGS1...I disliked mgs 2, never had a chance to play mgs3 but I plan on it either on 3ds or ps3.
MetalGearRexPilot MGS 1 is definitely one of my all time favorites, the game was ahead of it's time and had some fantastic characters and intimidating bosses.
Hijynx87 MGS3 is paramount to the story of the series. MGS4 is how it ends. MGS2 barely matters. In fact, the only thing you need to know from it is that Raiden exists and Liquid Snake is back via a transplanted arm and Kojima's inability to write ahead of time.
MGS4 is actually pretty nice. The stealth is a little awkward feeling, but still present. The bosses each have their own gimmick and dynamic, and I can appreciate them. Their stories are told awfully.
I HEAVILY ADVISE YOU PLAY MGS3.
With MGS4, I'd suggest watching a LP of it if you don't want to play it. ChipCheezum did a phenominal LP of it.

LP'ers have to say something during these moments, I've seen them handled better, for sure, but it's not like he was getting off (literally) on the murder and dismay of fictional characters. Some people don't get attached to storylines and characters. I do, but I don't get butthurt if someone makes light of an on screen death. I've seen too many people legit tear shed at Aerith's death for example and I can't help but chuckle at that...yet I have shed man tears in games myself. Regardless, as much as I hate DSP, sociopath he is not.

His general incompetence at playing games wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't constantly talking shit and being condescending to the games he's struggling to play. It's like he's actively trying to annoy his audience. His sense of humour is entirely comprised of insults.
This is what this video exactly describes Phil in a valid way. (A twisted sick vindictive fuck in the room he was dropped in!) Seems he couldn't keep his jokes to a minimum. When love scenes and the tragic scenes play in the games, he throws in the most off colored jokes and I have seen it. That's what a true sociopath is in the gaming community. I seen Let's Players throwing in some jokes in games they play and keep there mouths closed in the love scenes and tragic scenes. Phil should do the same but I won't be holding my breath over it.
