Of all the Country and Western Singers Ray price had the most melodious sound. I had the opurtinity to hear him in Yukon Oklahoma. He was simply magnificant. He stayed and talked with the crowd. He signed autographs and was very gracious. I had wanted tose him my entire life. He was as genuine in person as he was on stage. Now God had another star to entertain him. Rest in Peace.

Ray needs all our prayers and good wishes right now. He's in a tough fight with cancer. He's still planning to tour in 2013, God bless him!

Ray Price is such a national treasure, although an oft overlooked one I feel. He should always be mentioned in the same breath with legends like Haggard, Jones, and Cash.

I just love this cover of the great Bob Willis' classic. What a voice, huh? Arguably, he had the best voice in American music. I'd put him in the category as Frank Sinatra, George Jones, Cisco Houston, Slim Whitman, and Jim Reeves.

Ray still has it. The guy is Fantastic.
People rightfully talk about Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and George Jones (to name just a few) but all too often they forget Ray Price.
Ray Price can fairly be called BRILLIANT.

THIS is the REAL thing. Great musicians who know how to play their instruments! Compare this to what's on country radio today ... it ain't country ... some tuneless piece of crap played by some kid with a Les Paul guitar and five chords. All of the good pickers are leavin' us, too.

I never heard of Ray's death until 12/24/2013, almost 2 weeks after it happened. Country music just lost one its great performers. The younger country performers will do themselves a favor by trying to include some of Ray Price's standard of quality and character in their performances.
