If you have ever seen Tenacious D live , then you know they are no fucking joke. They are truly one of the greatest bands of all time ! It is a life changing experience! I took my 13 year old Son with me ,and we had the most amazing time ! Do yourself a favor and see them live ,if you are lucky enough to get tickets.
@@2ndhorseman I actually didn't either. I was reading the comments and reading nothing but "Jack, Jack, Jack", not knowing which Jack it was. And as the song continued I was like it kinda sounds like Jack Black. And then I scroll up to see him take his mask off and I was like" WTF. It IS him!"
He's fuckin nasty too. Just check out the intro song to Conan's show. He shreds it up jazz style. It's funny because his playing with Springstein is so boring and tame lol
Lovely to see the D early in their career Jacks vocals and enthusiasm brings a tear to my eye. Also VERY pleased to hear Conan let the lyrics ‘grab his scrote’ stay in for the performance 😂
The best version of this song. The camera work is excellent. My wife and I sing this song together, except she's nasty girl. We like it a lot. I listen to it every morning when I wake up. Thank you for the upload.
3:10 notice how KG approach the guitar player so he can help him to finish the solo, KG said in a interview that part is hard for him because he is playing on acoustic... in this video we can see both guitar players have good chemistry.
You can tell how good this song is by Conan's band. Those dudes are longtime pros, they've played everything I bet, and to see them get into it (bass and drums especially) is quite awesome. Love the D!
Final lyric: "You take the high road... I'll take the low. There. At the CREVACE! Fill it! With your MIGHTY JUICE." .... totally talking about DPing a broad.
Wow, the Max Weinberg 7 did a great job backing up the D. I wonder how much time they had to rehearse. Those guys are great musicians. I'd love to be the guitarist on a talk show and able to jam with all those great musicians.
Ryan McIntyre A week to rehearse one or two songs, hell I could do that. Still, they're pros. I have all the respect for them. That would be a very rewarding gig in my opinion. Of all the working musicians in the world, only a few really get to be superstars. A talk show gig or something like that would be the next best thing.
Paul TheSkeptic Oh hell yeah! This would be amazing. Remember they're learning not just those two new songs every week, but whatever songs they play during the show, commercial breaks, and if they backup the guest artist like you see here. I've done a little bit of studio work and professional music work (not to this level) and I can tell you that it's still "work". Guys like this are professional because they behave that way and earn it. I'm definitely impressed.
Ryan McIntyre Yeah, forgot about that. Yes, I agree. The guys who make it are the guys who don't drink all the time and are on time with everything learned and ready to go. ie: the professionals. That's probably why I never made it very far with my music. XD
***** I agree, it is Kyle's music and he owns it, and good point about prep time, HOWEVER, if you're playing on national TV, you take the time to get it right as you're running a solo along side the original artist. :)
It's still a hell of a scale to try to pull off live, whether or not you've rehearsed. Kyle did it perfect here, but even KG doesn't even try it at some shows.
I love watching the bassist slowly getting in the groove and by the end he's headbanging away, you can tell these guys are absolute pro's and are just having some fun 🤘
They unironically made a masterpiece of a song. So sincere, innocent and pure melodies with such dirty lyrics 😭 You have to be a genius to achieve that. Long live the D! 🦸♀️😈👊🏼🔥
I remember watching this when it aired in early highschool. I remember thinking... "Isn't that guy an actor or something?". Loved the performance. Loved Conan, too. I ended up picking up the album at a local record shop called the Electric Fetus and had to listen to it in private at home because of all the profanity. It's now one of all-time favorite records and one of the few I can sing along (and rant about inward singing) to, word for word. Long live the D! Lead as Two Kings!
and so much hate in the eyes of jack black when Conan the scuz-bucket came over and bowed to him. he's like "don't you bow to me you fucking spunk-bubble, i don't need your approval"
I'll never forget my friend letting me borrow this album back in 2002, and my complete disbelief that that goofy bastard Jack Black had such an incredible voice.
Who's the nerd on drums? Anyone?
Max Weinberg from Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band
@@snakedogenator and the 3 others are ?
It definitely isn't, Lee Lee Lee Lee Lee, Lee Lee Lee Lee Lee. Definitely not
A fuckin gangster. All u need to know
You must be young
Jack has one of the most under rated voices of all time.
+bennydman666 He's very well respected among the singers :P
Dariolicious Sleaze I didn't know that.

I loved in High Fidelity before he was well known the part at the end where he sings and everyone is confused and blown away
he's in a beck video(i know old comment is old) check out the video for beck's song sexx laws
Love how serious Conan's band is about it. haha
Why wouldn't they be?.. this is REAL ROCK
They're professionals. Can't expect less really.
They better be cause its Tenacious D!
They were playing with the best band in the world. What did you expect?
The drummer is killing it
I love how they take off their silly little eye masks like they're revealing the most amazing plot twist ever. So good!!
I didn't even realize that it was Jack Black and Kyle Gas, and then..... GASPAH!!
cause they're not just artists, they're performers which elevates their art to a new level.
It IS him!"
Gotta love Max Weinberg. Dude looks like a pediatrician, yet he makes a living on the drums.
Lmao
+WhoAteMyFunDip You are the reason I love the internet.
ahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahaha!!!!
+WhoAteMyFunDip thanks for that.made my day.
He's fuckin nasty too. Just check out the intro song to Conan's show. He shreds it up jazz style. It's funny because his playing with Springstein is so boring and tame lol
LMFAO
i see everyone saying jack is an amazing singer, but wheres the credit for KG ?!?! hes a sick guitarist
sorry to hear that, ill miss him too :/
I agree KG is an amazing guitarist!!!! 😱😱😱 acoustic king
sick guitarist and backing vocals
Shut up
Where's the credit for whoever made those outfits?!?
The general crowd reaction: “what the hell was that and why did I like it?”
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“This better not awaken anything in me...”
Jack's voice is so darn beautiful :'(
Aha Türk,vay amk tek degilmisim.
Kyle's finger be silver, Jack's voice then be gold
@@ultra1000 Tenacious D, they reign 🤘
This was the song my best friend always told me to play at his funeral, and we did.
You're a good friend, Tedric.
😭 RIP He's far away from the mucky muck now.
Rest in piece, Wonderboy.
How about the power....................... To move you?
*Sexy KG breakdown*
Lovely to see the D early in their career
Jacks vocals and enthusiasm brings a tear to my eye. Also VERY pleased to hear Conan let the lyrics ‘grab his scrote’ stay in for the performance 😂
Jack Black actually sounds great live. Not true of so many artists.
JACK IS ONE OF THE BEST VOCALISTS OF ALL TIME.
ONE of the best?! THE best
He actually is though people just say it cos hes so cool but his live vocals are insanely good
Yep that is the best band in the world.
JB okay guitarist, great singer
KG great guitarist, okay singer
They are made for each other
Holy shit, I love KG's solo.
Love how Jack says 'That's right, ME!" and the expression on his face when he says it. Cracks me up! XD
this audio is shockingly well mixed for being live.
The best version of this song. The camera work is excellent. My wife and I sing this song together, except she's nasty girl. We like it a lot. I listen to it every morning when I wake up. Thank you for the upload.
Strong ans powerful song
Rigagoogoo rigagoogoo
I think wonderboy could be jack black but you didn't hear it from me
Christian Meade Thanks for the spoiler...
I thought there may have been some link to the old 80's sega games but i think youre right.
Christian Meade What are you talking about, they said Wonderboy is JB not Jack Black.
But then....who is young nasty man?
@@BVargas78 It's not. Jack Black clears this up in one of the JablinskiGames episode. It was just a coincidence.
could Tenacious D be any more perfect?!
birdyvee nope
birdyvee ahhh....no
Yes. THEY can, and I'm not sure we'll survive that. #blowingminds
Lmao Kyle left that other guitarist in the damn dust
So classy
3:10 notice how KG approach the guitar player so he can help him to finish the solo, KG said in a interview that part is hard for him because he is playing on acoustic... in this video we can see both guitar players have good chemistry.
When Kyle says, “that’s me.” Fucking gets me every time lol
Personally this is one of my favorite performances on Conan. Anyone else agree?
This is like my safe place... I come back every few months for happiness. Tasty jam.
And in his spare time Wolverine played lead electric guitar in a band, and his greatest day was jamming with the D on Conan! Long Live The D!
One of my favorite D songs! Jimmy Vivino is unrecognizable. He looks so young!
wtf
This song is amazing. An absolute triumph, and a masterpiece of our times. What a pleasure to behold
when I'm having a bad day, I just watch this video. it always moves me.

disco desanti I mean they have a couple of songs about fucking girls, one about a threesome so
"its KG with a feather and the french tickler"......lmao
Havin sex with me and KGeeeeeeee, now we're talkin double teeeeeam, SUPREME!
Thought the same thing, actually.
Jack Blacks theatre background helps, plus an amazing natural talent. How he finds the range, from "sniveling" to roaring makes this song amazing.
Wow, the Max Weinberg 7 did a great job backing up the D. I wonder how much time they had to rehearse. Those guys are great musicians. I'd love to be the guitarist on a talk show and able to jam with all those great musicians.
+Paul TheSkeptic Pro musicians can usually pick this stuff up quickly, but from what I understand, you get about a week.

Amazing version of this song and damn, those string like notes from the keyboard elevate it even more.
I Love how the house band's guitarist is trying to keep up with kyle durring the run but just can't. haha....

He has powers comparable to Wonder boy... What powers you ask?...!
I swear it's harder to play licks like that on an acoustic as well.
Kyles guitars are sick
I love watching the bassist slowly getting in the groove and by the end he's headbanging away, you can tell these guys are absolute pro's and are just having some fun 🤘
I love this performance. At 3:35 he is so in the zone. You can really tell how mucky the muck is.
2:50 no words for that feelling of victory !!!!!
Wow... one of the oddest songs by them, but its so damn catchy
braedon96 yes it is, yes it is
Its been so long that i forgot how musically great this song actually is.
i consider this an iconic moment for tv

this makes me cry. so beautiful.
I'm glad you said that because I was thinking the same thing.
Conan pays true homage at the end of this. Love how he does!
everytime he sings the "wonderboy' part CHILLS
Still an amazing performance all these years later
This was such pure genius. They need a new album!!!
Nice ... memories. This was my first introduction to the D. Immediately acquired the album.
a masterpiece
Cheered me up so much today
amen James Emslie...
They're the best band ever, period.
I love tenacious d and conan in his prime was the perfect place for artists like them.
Anyone else still jamming this in 2018? God bless Tenacious D.
2021 for me. I am discovering the whole Tenacious d . I love Holywood jack and his nasty boy. A great damned journey . So funny
“History of Wonderboy and young Nasty Man” fucking goes right through my soul every time and I don’t even know why lol
What a set of pipes this guy has.
I love that keyboard synth

KG could probably smoke 99.9% of guitarists though.
The greatest band in the world!
For some odd reson, this song makes me somewhat teary.
I always loved this song. but the band that they rocked with this night was 🔥🔥. the bass player really enjoyed himself. the drummer too.
I was watching this live. brings back memories. Thank you.
