"Keep building these RANDOM MEMORIES"
Every song on this album has such a unique, distinct, different feel to it. This one sounds so warm, and nostalgic, and happy, it reminds me of summertime, feeling the sunshine on your shoulders as you cruise on the highway at dusk, for a moment allowing your troubles to slip away and just feeling the pleasure of being alive.
It reminds of the time when a bunch of dudes kidnapped and killed me.
Yes, thats exactly how I feel
It reminds me of when I would visit my grandmother on the Alabama coast, going to the beach, exploring the USS Alabama, and eating seafood that kicked Red Lobster's ass. She just moved back in with us all the way in Tennessee, so there's no telling when I'll have the chance to see the ocean again, but this song can help me remember what it felt like.
i totally agree! i especially recall memories when he says " making me feel like i'm 17..". i bought this album when i was 17 and i remember listening to it every day in school and wherever i went to. everytime i get to this song a big smile gets in my face!

This goddamn master piece finaly hit one million views. The best song on the whole album, so underrated
+Carter Herrigstad Agreed
Absolutely!
You have no idea how many times I've checked the views on this till it got a million
+Carter Herrigstad It's alright my friend; it's no surprise that it finally hit 1m; after all, today's society is so in love with music that talks about eating a**
+Carter Herrigstad Omfg yess!! I said the same thing, I was like Wow barely 1m?! I had this damn song on repeat when I bought the Album on the 1st day it came out.
I'm 17 right now and this song makes me feel like I'm 17 even more.
I have listened to this song when I was 17, now I am 21 today. Whenever I listen to this song this takes me back to my 17
Almost 17 and I can’t wait for the day I can listen to this and feel younger
nice, go and make your life yours, and enjoy every fragment of time, am 24 and i listen this song when i was like 16-17 and still kicks the heart

Honestly, I feel like Fragments of Time is the best song in the album, better than Get Lucky.
this hits different now
Years later, this is still my favorite song of all time. It means so much to me.
The first time I heard music I liked, I was in a bowling ally with big screens playing music videos. Aerodynamic was playing, but I had no idea what it was or who did it. All I knew is I loved it. It wasn't untill years later that I found it again and who was responsible. I was hooked. I don't think there's been 2 days in a row since then I haven't listened to a Daft Punk song.
Random Access Memories became my favorite album since I first heard it with this song being my favorite song, even now. God I love this song, from all the little eastereggs in the lyrics to it's just chill and ultimate vibe it gives off. This reminds me of growing up in the best years of my life, as I played it all the time then. It fit the mood, this indescribable good feeling of being young and discovering friendship.
I remember playing it borderline ever time I went sailing, letting the sunlight in mg eyes.
I remember playing this in my friends car, driving to what felt like paradise.
I remember wanting it to never end.
Now, I can just playback these fragments of time. I don't get sad, because the moments still shine.
I know it all sounds corny, but I'm serious. This song means a lot to me and it always will.
Daft Punk may have ended their partnership with eachother but they're music will still live on be played daily by me. My framed vinyl of Random Access Memories will be within sight ever night as I sleep.
For anyone reading, I wish you have many more days to turn into melodies. Because when you turn back, oh man, you know the rest
That was beautiful. Thank you
Great comment.
Beautifully said. I am also a massive Daft Punk fan, here listening to Random Access Memories from front-to-back for the first time since the break-up. Nice to know somebody appreciates songs like this on the same level.

He’s talking about their characters and who their known as... rip Daft Punk 💔👏🏻
I get an eargasm between "everywhere I go" and "these moments will shine" .. It sounds just like... god, it's perfect.
It's that analogue-sounding piano chord in the midst of all the beeps and boops and that guitar. Everything is moving so fast, and then there's just that perfectly normal sounding "din dint" that should be so completely out of place, but it somehow is the glue that holds it all together.
@@lvbuckeyeand also because of the bassline that keeps it all together. Also that chopped style on the keys is very reminiscent of Todd Edward's style as a composer

Todd's voice sounds as good as it did in Face to Face, amazing work as always
Another underrated daft punk masterpiece
His voice sounds better here than in face to face, IMO.
I think RAM is an excellent call back to Daft Punk's roots as Da Funk, a simple funk band. It's amazing how how much they progressed, even just from 1997 to 2001 (Alive-Discovery). I think very little tops Discovery, but imo RAM is right up next to it. They really are one of the most unique bands out there, mixing 70's funk, disco, jazz, country, and rock with futuristic electronica, making them the most profound EDM group to ever exist, again, imo. But, for the love of god Daft Punk, please go on another fucking tour.
I'd buy tickets immediately if they did a us tour
Da Funk was a song, Darlin was their original band.
You said this perfect. They are realy unique
The problem with RAM was that it had no tour format. With Alive and Alive 2007, mixing dance music onstage was a tried and true format.
The varying nature of RAM makes it hard to play on stage. Sure, they _could_ get the actual instrumentation for every song. That solves one problem, but then there's the issue of vocals, since every vocalist of RAM is a star in their own right. They _could_ book around the vocalist's schedules, or perform in the vocalist's localities, but that leaves the problem of the robots themselves. They could come onstage for mixing, synth, or talkbox work, but other than that, they don't really have a reason to be on stage.
Still fire, but RAM wasn't meant for a tour.
“Please go on another tour”
I cri
Daft Punk delved into the past with this album in such a beautiful, inventive way. They brought back disco, but also incorporated a lot of other musical styles from the 70s. "Touch" incorporates prog rock, we get a touch of jazz-fusion on "Giorgio by Morodor" and this is pure AM radio rock. Reminds me a lot of Fleetwood Mac and Steely Dan.

Man, being only 20 and already being killed by nostalgia is harsh. I can't help but thinking of the fragments of time when I actually felt happy. Present is just not good enough. I just hope someday I will be able to make new great memories.
I remember being 20 , nostalgia killed me back than more than today where I turned 30 and I have lot more in life to be nostalgic about , late mother and grandparents... some friends and family that are now far or we lost contact. I guess as we grow with experience, we learn to appreciate the present moment . When I listen to this I feel like 17 now, maybe more 17 than ever...Time is a magical thing. Be aware of your youth and explore options to make exciting life and memories, live in the moment and feel. As we can't ever perfectly remember details we are always in the middle of what we perceive as now ,and what we feel about the past. Again time is magic, and Daft Punk make me access time capsules. Cheers!

It really is giving life back to music
Reading this comment, this song makes a lot more sense to me now as a Todd Edwards fan. If you’re not familiar with his music, he tends to sample 70’s era songs very heavily, basically making musical instruments out of them. So when I didn’t hear that in this song I was confused, I was expecting at least something like Face 2 Face. However, this is definitely reminiscent of the sort of 70s songs he’d sample.

Let's forget how awesome Daft Punk was for a second and just focus on the melody and most importantly, the drums... This is one of my favorite songs of all time!
John Jr Robinson on drums 🥁
man i got some bad news for you
Am I the only one who thinks this song has a strongest message behind a fresh melody? Is like they're trying to tell us to enjoy the ride but not literally; we should face life like this, having our good memories as if we were living them again, build greater ones, we can't stay forever and that's why life takes a value that we can increase as we want. Whatever, skip those words if you want, just know this is a fucking great song.
I especially love when the lyric says “Since I can’t stay, I’ll just keep playing these fragments of time”, such a contrast with the instrumental, turns completely the meaning of the song into a little nostalgia treasure.
