Egg yolks contain fats that retain moisture and produce a rich, thick lather

I have been making soap for many, many years and a couple years finally came up with a soap recipe that was perfect for my needs. And then I added egg yolk! That addition took a great soap to a fabulous soap! I will always add egg to my soaps from now on.
It adds a wonderful quality to the lather!

Hi how longs the shelf life of the soap with egg in it.

Hello. The shelf life of the egg soap is the same as other natural soaps. The yolks are transformed during the saponification so technically there are no eggs left in the soap :)
