In this video we take a look at my 2 new purchases from Queni Koi, a male ISA SHOWA & a female MATSUE SANKE. Also I make a slight alteration to the lighting of the Koi pond to fix an issue with the Koi's swimming orientation at night-time.

All of them are good KOIs with a TSUBOZUMI trend, but if these KOI deals are rampant at this time of year, when will it really be time to increase the physique to boost immunity? Unless they are prepared to be heated to 25°C or more throughout the winter, that is.

Nice litrlw additiona there Si. Really like the showa. Such a bmnice head with nuce pattern in the head. I love them showa starts with lots of beni and shiroji, so when the suni cones up, its always a nuce balance if the 3, which is what showa should be. I am not keen when the showa arw covered in sumi at young age, or older even.
Happy for you. Now let them grow for the summer, or what is left of it 🙄 and next year you can add some at the beginning if the season.

Thanks Lau, I go through phases of liking really Sumi dominant Showa, then Showa with more Beni and even Kindai😅 TBH I think its dependent on the example I'm looking at at the time😂
Hopefully I can get another good couple of months of food down them🙂

Completely unrelated question but how is the amalgam UV in your filtreau filter going ? we've just bought the UV kit to fit inline before the drum and it glows (can see faint light in dirty side of drum) but doesn't seem to clump any algy and is not clearing our water not even any clumps in the waste shoot when it cleans ! If its brand new the ballast gets warm the bulb glows blue/green like in your 1 year later vid but it doesn't seem to be working ? Have you heard of anyone else having these issues, last thing is the ballast doesn't seem to have any of the lights yours has ? Have they dropped the lights from their amalgam UV ?

The Amalgam does a fantastic job The pond is crystal. The UV is in the clean side of the drum, I'm guessing mainly to keep the screen clear too. I'm pretty sure the lights are still on the ballasts, and they change to tell you when the UV is ready for changing, or so I believe. Tbh I never really pay attention to the lights on the ballast.
