Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Hyundai i20 2021

  • The Hyundai i20 is a partner model to Bayon and their structure is practically identical. Euro NCAP compared both vehicles to verify that the Hyundai Bayon results can be applied to i20 and performed additional tests where necessary. The footage includes video of the Hyundai Bayon 2021 and additional i20 2022 tests.
    Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
    - a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
    - a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
    - a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
    - a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
    A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
    Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

    omg test the i20 , no matter it is on the same platform as bayon we want to see the car we bought and not the bayon

    Which one is true? At 0:08 Adult Occupant is 76 percent, 1:41 Adult Occupant is 96 percent! Are u ok? Is it still recent?

    euroNcap the bayon its not the i20 it can share the same base but the result its for me is like if you didnt test the i20.euroNcap please stop give resaults of cars that are not the car that you said its tested!

    Now it´s finally official ****, though we already knew that since Bayon
    was tortured last year, not shameful results at all, especially for the segment.

    I feel like safety assist did better than 67%. Lane assist and emergency brake actually did a more than decent job

    No surprise that the i20 has the same Euro NCAP safety rating, considering that the Bayon is based on the i20, and that has a 4 star safety rating.

    disappointing, especially this: "on the driver's side, structures in the dashboard were considered a risk to occupants' legs and a penalty was applied to the score. Protection of the driver’s chest was rated as marginal, based on dummy readings of chest compression.

      @@KuchingKingVideoGamer Still different vehicles. It's as if i tested the Eclipse and Eclipse Cross and claimed the results are interchangable.
