- Total cost to build the sewing display PLUS the matching bookshelf was ~$500, so $250 per, plus the cost of the machines.

Machines simply lift out for easy removal for use. My favorite of the Singer line is the 101. - Věda a technologie
Beautiful. A couple of true vintage machine lovers.
Excellent job. Thanks for sharing. Inspirational video.
Thanks so much!
I love the walnut vases!
Thank you! It's definitely my favorite wood to pair with these vintage machines.
That is just amazing. Such a great design!
very nice, thanks for sharing
Awesome!! Love this! You did a great job! ;)
Great display idea.
Thanks!
Very cool! Worth the $$$
Great job!
Sofisticado como somente as coisas simples conseguem ser. É difícil ser simples! Parabéns pela ideia e vídeo bem executado. Abraços, desde o Brasil
obrigado!
That looks gorgeous, and the joints improve the looks over welding! Awesome idea! Only downside is you need to unscrew the machines from the frame to use them? Love it though
Thank you! I don't remove the boxes when I use the machine. I just lift them out and drop them into a dedicated table. I also have a dedicated box that I but them in sometimes as well.
I want to do this! Thanks for the inspiration?
lol...the cat wants to be the center of attention.
Don't they always :)
Fantastic! Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
I see there are several books written about the political and business history of the Singer Sewing Machine Company. Has anyone written a comprehensive book about the products, the sewing machines, the associated cabinets, cases and accessories? If not, you do such a great job with your videos, you have such detailed knowledge, I think you could compile a great book.
Hello! Do you make boxes for sale? I need some for my machines! I have a collection exactly like yours😊
Very cool
Thank you!
I have a SInger 101 and I am curious about how hard it is to put it on a base and replace it with foot pedal instead of the knee pedal? The table doesn't fit into my craft space and it's not comfortable for me to sit at. I feel guilty taking it away from the cabinet since they were together since 1930, but I want to use the machine. Plus, I feel the knee pedal wires look rough.
It looks fantastic. Very sturdy and I like that you didn't enclose the machines inside a display case. Were you to offer the walnut bases on eBay, you'd never have a lack of work. We made a bookcase using surplus airplane windows and I might try it for some of my machines.
Does your cat climb it?
Thanks for the feedback! I thought about offering the walnut bases but walnut is so expensive around here I didn't think people would pay what it would cost to justify the work. I'd love to see your bookcase. Any pics or videos? And fortunately no, cats don't climb it....yet!
Sorry for the late response. I had some renovations done and dismantled the case and didn't re-assemble. I'll probably be moving within the year and your display rack gives me some ideas for my machines, so thank you. I posted an Anker MMZ at the Yahoo! Pfaff group if you're interested in taking a look.
Do all these machines fit in the same cabinet size bed? I would like to alternate the sewing machines while keeping the others on display.
Thx,
DR
+Denny R They do! That was part of the motivation behind making it. My wife wanted all Singers in there but if I had my preference I'd put in our Bernina 117, Pfaff 130, Singer 101, Singer 201 and an Adler 187.

Thanks, since many of the Singers fit the same cabinet I will be on the look out for a Singer 201 and 127. I think the old Singers are harder to find in the Western part of the US, I just don't run across that many..

what plans did you have to make the display cases?
I didn't have any plans. Just decided on what function/look I wanted and built them. I'm sure there are plans out there though.
Where can you buy the wooden bases?
I made them but there are probably people selling them on Etsy.
I hope these machines get used and not just for their beauty
The 201 and 101 get used occasionally but the rest are decorative at this point. They're great machines but I use industrials almost exclusively now.
Nice job , for me i would have bent those mounting brackets into an L shape at the back ,then you could pull them down to run and oil them , no screws holding them , but thats me , i own and have 12 on display and like to pull them down to clean and run them , check the oil and have them always ready to sew , there is only one problem with this display , it will cause V.M.A Vintage Machine Addiction , i was diagnosed 2 years ago and cant be left alone at yard sales or on marketplace, its ok to love them right ?
LOL. Your suggested modification sounds like a good one. We have a dedicated table for our domestic machines to drop into so we just lift them out of the display and drop them into the table VMA is real :)
Bases!
I have a 115 i want to sell
Veryyyy cool ;)
