    I just bought this tractor. I just took it for a spin at the dealer to get a feel for it and see what I'm buying. But now looking through the controls, this seems like a machine for someone who never worked a day in a tractor. It's just that simple. I can't wait for spring and summer when the work starts. This is gonna be so much easier to work with then you dad's old IMT 539.

    We have a 6180 Dynashift 1997 and the Dyna 4 looks to me like a really simple and intuitive transmission to use. It's almost the same. 1, 2, 3 and 4 are changed electronically instead of manually. We can't shift the powershift while changing the ranges though. For example when I want to shift from 2D to 4A (gear stick will detach if I push it too far in 3-rd gear), it shifts to A just before the tractor stops. So I rev it to about 2000 rpm in 2-nd and shift to 4-th in at 1000 rpm. I also love the reverse shuttle on your tractor. Ours is just a pain. It doesn't have neutral and the security system against accidental shifting is coming to a full stop while pressing the clutch. Otherwise it just keeps beeping. Made some changes with the reverse because we often couldn't change directions. And it also sometimes gets stuck in creeper gears. It's a pain going back home at 13km/h at 2500rpm. Apart from that the powershift is really convinient to use. We've done 8400 hours on the tractor and haven't touched the transmission or the engine so far. Great tractor , bad electronics.

    I am like you, I have a NH t4 and shuttle lever goes back to neutral. My Maxum tractor stays in direction I am in. Thanks for the lesson

    start stop via brake pedal is a Valtra feature (Ndrive) or auto traction incorporated after valtra became part of Agco I would think as you say very handy for baling however on my Valtra N101 I find it a bit agressive however the clutch may need calibration which should improve this

    • @BagwellFarms
      @BagwellFarms  Před 3 lety

      Interesting didn’t know that’s where it came from they don’t offer the valtra brand in the USA they just brought fendt over in the last couple years. How do you like your valtra? Compared to the other brands

    • @johncarroll7363
      @johncarroll7363 Před 3 lety

      I find the Valtra to be a good sound tractor. They have a great reputation for reliability. The Sisu engines ( now used by Massey) are one of their strengths. One criticism I have is the seating position which is offset which makes it a bit difficult to get a comfortable driving position.

      Just add to my response I have a Ford 6610 for 20 years will probably keep that as it has been great, have had New Holland TS115 sorry I sold it. I do have a preference for New Holland but I am currently considering a Massey 6460 Dyna 6 . Would you consider the Dyna6 a good transmission ?

      Connor Nafziger I think it was when the 5600 series replaced the 5400

    I think that shuttle was used on the Challenger 400 and 500 series too. But I don't think they make those anymore.

    • @BagwellFarms
      @BagwellFarms  Před 6 lety

      Make the shuttle? Or the tractors?

    • @ArnieD17
      @ArnieD17 Před 6 lety

      The Challenger 400 and 500 series are actually Massey Ferguson tractors painted Caterpillar yellow. With them you get either Dyna-4 or Dyna-6 transmissions.

    I would like to put a monitor mount in my 5611 like you have. Do you by chance have a pattern of your mount you could share with me?

    • @BagwellFarms
      @BagwellFarms  Před 6 lety

      I don't have a pattern but I made videos step by step of me making it I created a playlist of the videos of me making it for you goto my playlist an its titled my monitor mount what I did is I took a piece of cardboard an cut it to the shape I wanted it then I traced it onto a piece of sheet metal I got at tractor supply an cut it out the videos are from when I first started so the quality isn't as good as they are today but it will help you it wasn't hard to make you just need a welder an a cutting wheel for a grinder

    Your ranges are 1-4 and your gears are a-d the new 5600 has a mode that will change 1-4 ranges without the use of the declutch button

  • @Sandman_3279
    @Sandman_3279 Před 3 lety +1

    I don't understand the ABCD part? What does it do? Does it give the tractor a better power range going up hills?

    • @fstupidaccount
      @fstupidaccount Před 5 měsíci

      think of it as gears are groups 1,2,3,4 and A,B,C,D are the equivalent to 1st 2nd 3rd 4th in a manual shift car. the power shift is A,B,C,D the manaul clutch in and out are 1,2,3,4 except it doesnt need to clutch in for 1 2 3 4 but will delay it more than A,B,C,D?

    I would never trust a declutch button. Your tractor has to be full powershift to not worry about that.

    I almost bought a 5610 today, went to SC to look at it. Unfortunately it was to ragged out for me, it had 1700 hard hours on it.

    • @maguire5455
      @maguire5455 Před 6 lety +1

      I cant but discourage you enough from buying a 5610. I know plenty of people have given them good reviews but that 3 cylinder isn't a good engine. Yes it is reliable but it is has no low end torque, you will find yourself reving the engine up to get anything out of it. Also if you stand outside the tractor and listen to someone drive it along it sounds like a young boy is driving it who cant decide what rev he wants, it is always trying to make its mind up. The 4.4l engine in the 5611 is twice the engine. The 5610 is alright if you aren't putting it properly to the test but we weren't happy with ours when we bought it and we traded it in losing 8000 pounds just to get a mint 5455 that was a far better tractor in my opinion.

  • @bigred5546
    @bigred5546 Před 3 lety +2

    Your explanation is wrong. The ranges are indicated by the numbers 1-4. The gears within these ranges are indicated by the letters A-D. That is not a declutch button. That button is used to change between ranges.
