New information suggests the skip is not as precise as noted here. As the game is only 3 days old and new knowledge is constantly surfacing, be prepared for a lot of this to become dated fairly soon. I went to bed, woke up, and some of this has already been corrected or improved. Hopefully we can get proper testing tools soon to determine the exact windows for these tricks, just like we were able to do in classic BfBB. More like ported in 5 minutes. According to the configuration file, one of the plugins used was Industrial Park.

I did the warp on my first try the first time i got the game with no tutorial, its a really easy strat. This tutorial should help alot of people out, hopefully it gets more people into runs of the game.
Yeah it doesn't surprise me that it turns out not to be frame perfect. I feel like a lot of people throw that term around without verifying whether it is or isn't. To be fair, most of the people looking into the remake right now are fairly new to speedrunning it seems.

The coolest thing about the warp glitch is that, if you use it to warp you to the Chum Bucket, you automatically have the Cruise Bubble and Bubble Bowl moves unlocked. I'm guessing that's so you won't be trapped in the final boss level with no way to attack him.
The game got Rehydrated but the any% got Dehydrated

Guys i just found a way to launch to the top of the tree in the tree dome!
Stand in the hamster wheel and attack it, if you time a jump correctly, you can reach the top of the tree! And yes the top does have collision. Is it useful for the run... No... But it is a cool trick 😎. Edit: just made it to the middle of the tree!!! I also found out you can go higher if you bubble bounce after spining the wheel! If done right, it sends you going light-speed. I wonder if you can use the umbrella's in Goo Lagoon for the same thing?
I found it out by total accident. It won't be good for the run but im gonna name this trick: Wheel Boost!
bfbb speedrunning now has a new enemy: the devs themselves. The community is under heavy watch. Updates wont stop coming until the time comes that they give up or make a pledge or something. They promised not to fix speedrun stuff, but didnt say anything about glitches specifically :^)))

any% just becomes boring if you can do it by not playing the game.
like with sonic 06, any%(no game skipping glitches) will be the run to go for.
@@AlexanderMartinez-kd7cz im sure they want to fix all glitches, whether or not it's being exploited for speedruns. What I was referring to is that, anything like the infinite lasso glide glitch is unreliable (since that's an actual glitch and might get fixed, eventually). It makes speedrunning a bit more tense, but exploits a lot less rewarding/dependable.
But the map glitch is just too game breaking to even leave alone lmao

Friendly reminder that Shift was supposed to help the devs in finding glitches bc he's the biggest speedrunner for bfbb but definitely knew about this and let it slide.
In my opinion, being able to speedrun this game in over 2 minutes is a good way in order to beat the game faster and skip straight to the end however, it does negate the aspect of being able to perform different tips and tricks like in the original game to make it more worthwhile. Yeah, you can probably find glitches as the game goes on that will allow you to get Any% routes just with 75 spatulas however, as you can pretty much go straight to the game right from the start, it kind of makes everything seem pointless.
This is a comparison from a terrible game but Spyro Enter The Dragonfly had such an easy way to skip to the final boss right from the start, it could be beaten in 1 minute. Also, the fact having checkpoints in the second phase does not help because the whole point of dying and reset back to the beginning makes it so you are being tested on the skills you have learned throughout the game and you are presented with a difficult challenge that will make you feel accomplished once the game is finished.
I really hope a patch soon can address my opinion and make the game have a bit more substance
I remember when playing through Rehydrated 100%, at the platforming section of the final boss Plankton fully disappeared after attacking me like once.

So much this then, after all the effort Purple Lamp put into remaking BFBB from the ground up without much source material, its pretty much been ruined because they couldn't be asked to test the game properly meaning players can easily skip their work.
I hope they patch this and the speed running community straight up bans this in the future.

Fyi, Nick rushed this game out, and didn't fund a lot of money to THQ and Purple Lamp. Purple Lamp have in fact now set up a bug reporting service. Give them a chance.
I am not a huge fan of how fast the rehydrated version of the speedrun is.
I know thats the point but I kinda wish there was a longer version. Can't wait for the 100% speedruns I guess.

Hey Shift, so in spongebobs brain when there is two trampolines on the top of the level (where it loops around over and over if you didnt end spongebob yet), theres two trampolines you bounce on the first one then it leads to the second then bounces you the next platform, so basically you have to do a cruise bubble on the first trampoline then let go the cruise bubble on the second one, it'll crash the game, the second thing ive found is press ground pound button on the second trampoline, once you land it'll float you high into the air uncontrolably, i kinda just want you to show it off, ive tested these both and it worked again. (i need to edit a video on my channel if you want proof but i dont actually know how to edit videos well) btw i recorded it using obs just so you know.
If you want to do it on Switch or Xbox one, you have to map another button on the controller to A
I found a glitch in rock bottom. You know the first piece of art you find? Well collect that then warp back to the beginning the dialogue will play and Mrs Puff will give you a golden spatula

Its a shame spin stalling isn’t in the switch version. It was a great way to make hard jumps
The part in kelp forest where you have to use the melon seesaws to get the camper can be done as spongebob. I didnt know if you knew this. Im not a speedrunner so idk if it would save any time. I just know the jumps are all makeable without the seesaws and melons
Sidenote: the parts of the platform where they slope down to their lowest can be landed on with a two full A press double jump

I found a cutseen skip for the Arf enemy! Get hit by the electric gate and die by falling, and boom bang blam! You skipped the cutseen!

I’m already building a trainer for this game on PC lol. I really wish I would’ve beaten the game first, but oh well. So far I have a moon jump working and infinite shinies/spatulas/health etc. Any other useful things you guys think I should try?

@@MaleficWeegee Those are all very possible. I'm going to try and unpack the game files to see if I can just edit movement code to achieve the first two and rebuild the game. The last one will take a bit but I think I can get it done!

I think the warp should stay in the game but the any% rules should change to where it’s not allowed.

Console tutorial: Click a place you have unlocked, press button to take the taxi then quickly pause, hover over the spatula u wanna warp to then hit the pause button again.
Another method that ive found on my own. was Hovering over patrick spatula 1, pressing CIRCLE/B and DIAGONAL DOWN RIGHT TOWARDS THE CHUM BUCKET. and then PRESSING X/A twice immediately and it should say "Take the taxi to Chum Bucket Lab" However. if you press X/A to take the taxi here its simply just going to warp you to patrick, you're going to want to press circle/b instead and then press X when the taxi goes off screen and if you did EVERYthing right, you should see the taxi come up again IMMEDIATELY and then you take the taxi. Video is on my channel under "breaking a spongebob game" Its faster than the Pause method if you do it perfectly but however you cant get 1 spat with this method unlike the other.

Finally got the game myself and obviously first thing i went to do was try this, still works after all this time though i guess they removed the free bubble bowl and cruise bubble when entering the lab so i had to beat sandy and patrick first. either way its a great way to fuck with my steam achievements of having won with no spatulas

Oh, I didn't know you could break robo-plankten, I just stood behind the trampolines cause they block his shots.
If you could rebind the controls for this game you could just add a secondary select key other than the spacebar and use those two keys to do the exploit with no second controller required
Why do you guys call all these hard skips "frame perfect"? Let me explain what i mean: Some of your "frame perfect" skips have actually like 4 - 7 Frames room. How do i know? I was so curious, i wrote a script which pressed (as example) the a button twice on the same frame for the first skip shown in the video and ofc it worked, thats the point. But then i wrote the script to delay the second a input for 1 frame (and i delayed it up to 7 frames) and it worked just perfectly. The 8th frame worked too, but it wasn't consistend. I tried that in so many games, just because i was curious and in 12/15 games it wasn't frame perfect. So is this just a way to say that this is really hard or do i miss something?
This game is 3 days old. We know hardly anything about it, and the person who found it told me it was frame perfect. I'm just relaying the information on how to perform it so people can learn how to do it. The game is evolving so rapidly that during the time it took for me to sleep, wake up and upload this, the knowledge in this video is already outdated compared to the optimal strategies now.
When you say "some of your frame perfect skips," you're gonna have to be more specific. Sounds to me like you just wrote a script to test this specific one, and found out that this one in particular actually has a larger window. Thanks for testing that btw! But don't group other games/tricks into your generalizations, because you're currently speaking about one that was just released and has a very shallow knowledge base :)
Interesting... What's the reasoning behind disallowing vsync in runs? (And for that matter, what if you can't run the game higher than 60fps anyway, and so vsync wouldn't even matter?)

Speedrun tutorial where Shift passively aggressively roasts how bad and buggy the remaster is. I agree though we didn't expect them to make the game for speed runners but they made it almost anti speed runner with all of the invisible walls and all of the inconsistencies
I've only come across one buggy hitbox and maybe two obtrusive invisible walls that i can't remember if they were there in the original. The biggest issue ive seen so far a casual player would run into is some checkpoints having too wide a range which allows you to skip large sections by activating checkpoints and then dying.
@@tigerfestivals5137 Nah, multiple players are reporting glitching spatulas causing them to be unable to 100% the game. That's a much bigger issue
The game is literally fine dude. I played it on Switch, seemingly the worst version, and didn't come into contact with a single invisible wall or any big glitches. There were a few bugs here and there, but nothing crazy. The only thing that annoyed me was the load times being so long, but from what I heard the PC version is much faster.
The game is not as broken as people, particularly SHiFT, are saying. The game was not made for speedruns. They prevented skips and exploits present in the original game and thats a GOOD thing. As a casual player that wanted to relive my childhood, it was perfect. And thats exactly their target audience, NOT the speedrunning community.

Robot plankton got stuck when I went through. He just stayed on one platform at the bottom of the map, repeatedly firing up at me but always missing.
so are there any% runs without this warp already being run? Or are people waiting for a patch?

you don't have to open the prompt, I'm fairly sure, you can just go straight to the chum bucket, but I could be wrong
I wanna know how to access the SpongeBall Arena in the single player mode without having to play through the final boss again. There was a platform that was easy to access in the original version, but now I can't seem to find a way get to it besides doing the boss again. If anybody knows how to get to it, please let me know ASAP. Thank you. Also, I 100% completed the game on the Xbox One version today. Go me! (Victory screech.)
The fuses stay broken and bosses Don't respawn at the moment so you can't even get in that way

I ran into a game breaking glitch where you 100% the game and the bosses disappear from their area trying to refight them is a issue if their not their.
They are meant to disappear after you beat them, it isn’t game breaking it’s a feature
