Mount, Onana and Hojlund. If these are our 3 major signings this summer, what do you think about our starting XI next season and what weaknesses do you feel the squad still has?
The biggest weaknesses are the glazers and the foundation of OT. Hoping for top 4 again unless that keeps the glazers in.
Our main weakness is in the cb position if varane or martinez gets injured we are doomed
we should swap Antony for Hojlund and work Greenwood (yeah I know he didn't play for a long time) in the team as soon as possible, because right side (mainly RW) is our biggest weakness....than we need another CD and CM

I WANT Greenwood back in the squad but he needs time to recover from the lost year, and I hope he develops as a striker.
Biggest weakness is United CZcamsrs not doing enough to get the Glazer's out. Not once have I seen any intelligent lateral suggestions to protest, pressure them.

Lindelof was impressive towards the end of last season. I think he could be a decent backup to Varane. Shaw covers for Martinez almost flawlessly

Kane
The ability to play through the press is the best thing about these 3 signings. Before teams knew if they press us we would play it long and didn't have any focal point. Now we have players who can play through the press and a focal point up top. Big improvement
Definitely mount will be massive for our press in midfield as well his work rate is crazy, him and bruno together will bring so much energy.
Onana would be so transformational to our team ❤️

Mason Mount signing reminds me of Michael Carrick signing in 2006. It was not signing or amazing signing but we came to appreciate his quality in later stages.

Our job for next season is starting to win games in a more comfortable fashion. There were very few games last season where we were comfortable, there was always luck, it was always narrow. It never really felt like we dominated a game. That's something we have to improve on, because if the luck runs out we could easily do a Chelsea.
Squad looks good , let’s get Amrabat as well to cover Case as we had significant drop when he was not playing due to suspension and replacement of Maguire (he doesn’t suit in Eric style) -- we nee 4 CBs , Lindelof played himself into Eric’s plan.
Is not only about the signings. Man utd should be able play EXTREMELY Very Very Well day in day out. This is what we should be looking forward to!!!
Mount is maybe best signing for ManUtd in years. Mount is flawless in midfild.
I feel like top 3 with squad is again achievable. It’s moving more in the direction EtH wants to go. That’s a good thing.

The three signings I expect for next season are obviously Mason Mount, Andre Onana is imminent and Rasmus Hojlund but I will be very happy if we signed Amrabat as the backup dm for Casemiro. He was brilliant in the conference league final against west ham that there were even claims stating he played better than Declan Rice, I haven't got an opinion on that because I didn't watch the game. He was fantastic in the world cup for Morocco and earned his place in the team of the tournament alongside ounahi his fellow team mate for Morocco, and has actually been a fundamental player for Fiorentina since his arrival. If we end up signing him and not a centre back which is highly unlikely, I won't complain because the midfield and attack is the most important area of reinforcements this summer and last season we lacked depth in all areas of the pitch especially the midfield. But I have said this before and I will say it again, if we want to sign another midfielder we have to sell to buy that's always been the case.
I also have reservations with Hojlund being our number one. But I take a lot of comfort knowing he's going to be coached by Benni Mccarthy...if anyone can take him to the next level it's Mr McCarthy
I remember Michael Carrick's signing wasnt the sexiest, but he became one of our most inportant players.
Mount is going to play what Pogba would have had he stayed and negated the need for Frenkie... (though he's better than both Mount and FDJ) ... and with this Mount signing, we can see what EtH wants to do... I'm very very happy with this signing and we're going to see what he's about and get the best of his peak years. Many will appreciate him in time like they did Carrick and Fletcher.
Mount and Hojland are floor raisers. The signing that would really get me excited is Onana, he’s a true ceiling raiser, easily one of the best keepers in the modern game and he’s quite a character off the pitch too.
I hope we do go back in and sign Amrabat at the end of the window like Romano hinted we might do cause Mainoo might be too raw to play as back up for Casie. I think if we want young players to survive we have to be far more consistent and stable as a team.
Amad as a Bruno understudy in interior spaces would be noice...he interchanged positions with Roberts a lot at Sunderland last season

Onana is the big one for me. He'll completely transform our team how we play out from the back. The vast improvements will be ckear for all to see. Even tho Hojlund is still raw I think he's gonna surprise alot of people cos that lad is a beast built for the Premier League while Mount will provide alot more stability in midfield more energy mote defensive nous that Eriksen doesn't have. I still expect us to sign a new CDM like Amrabat & a back up keeper like Suzuki.

Mount, Onana, Hojlund in then sell 2-3 to get Amrabat. We do need a RCB and should get one if the opportunity presents itself but, if Casemiro were to get injured or banned, the back line will be in real trouble regardless of who the CB pairing is. DM is the glue and we need a reliable backup.
The problem with Onana is that in a way because of his different style of play and distribution the team will pretty much be built around him. If he's injured what will happen? Will we need to also buy another goalkeeper with a similar style as his back up?
How many times did de gea get injured? We have young keepers who can learn from onana
My only concern about this formation with these signings is what will happen when we don't have the ball?
I admit this past season I haven't watched much Italian football and didn't watch the CL final and with most of the videos on CZcams mainly showing our targets with the ball I can't help but question:
Hojlund - is he hardworking without the ball? Does he close down etc?
Onana- the vids and his admirers say he is great with his feet but is he as good or better than de gea in regards to shot stopping, handling etc because at the end of the day keeping the ball out of the net is a GK job
Finally if we don't upgrade out defence will the midfield 3 of casamiro, mout and Bruno protect the back 4? For me casamiro is a good shield but huge question marks are on the other 2 potentially meaning teams could walk through that midfield

Kane is still the man we really need Sam. Hojlund is a decent buy & 1 for the future, but not ready to lead our line wk in wk out yet.

Mount is just an improvement on Erikson. Not strong enough against top sides though a midfield 3 of Casemiro, Mount & Bruno.

I think we need to to take the Bull by the horn and sell the surplus to the requirements. It does not make sense to hang on to guys if they are not going to play as their value willl only plummet further.
Just imagine what a Tchumeni or Caicedo or Tyler Adams signing would do for this team. We would dominate the middle of the park for 90+ minutes.

I agree, I think we need Onana, Mount and Hojlund in asap. They’re essential for next season. Then realistically I’d like to see a few more squad additions. It would depend on player sales, and judging from the last 9 years, my expectations are very low! Some interesting linked options, who would be lower cost could be Suzuki as back up goalkeeper, Amrabat as back up to Casemiro, and Taremi (or a Felix loan, if that’s possible) as a back up striker. 🤞

Mount is going to unlock Shaw big time. Last season Eriksen's lack of stamina and physicality often held Shaw back to cover his spaces..
With the arrival of Mount shaw can go further high up the pitch to attack, so Mount will cover the space Shaw left behind..
The workrate and desire to run and fight will help us a lot more next season

Seeing Amrabat in the world cup and the finals, I really want him at United. He seems to be that type of signing that turns out to be way better than we ever thought, like Vidic. He is almost a Caceido+.
Still not enough brother. We cannot rely on those players only, it's not promise these players will be abke to play the whole season without injuries. We need squad in depth like City.

Amrabat basicly plays DMC or you could play him as a number 4(CB),so he would be able to replace Varane. Eriksen played were Mount is playing so Eriksen could take that spot. But where I see the biggest problem is up front. We need Kolo Muani. Two youngsters that fit ETH profile perfectly.
If only we did Onana,KMJ,Barella and Hojlund this summer, Hakimi, Lavia,Kane(free) next summer

I think Wan Bissaka will be important next season I think him and Shaw will play a lot more inverted pushing in alongside Casemiro with Bruno and Mount having freedom to charge forward. Would make sense if we play 2 8's and Onana Sweeping.

Hojlund is over hyped at the moment just because he is linked to us. Haaland was tearing it up in Bundesliga and even before until City got them. We were hyping up Sesko the same way last summer and now he is nowhere in conversation.
We would all hope Hojlund hits the ground running but it seems too optimistic.
A change of formation can solve the Casemiro "problem". But anyway i expect at least 3000/3420 minutes from Casemiro next season. 😎😎

Great analysis! I’d like your thoughts on ETH’s striker strategy. I think Hojlund is the understudy. It’s just too much to ask a talented but unproven kid to lead a title chase. I think hojlund will be a bit weak as a striker but only time will tell. There's rumours utd are looking at dybala as it's £10.2 million pounds signing. Amad for Antony and Sancho for hojlund as back up players
As it stands I would pick:
Onnana, Dalot, Shaw, Martinez, Varane, Casemiro, Antony, Mount, Rashford, Fernandes, Sancho
Kovar, WBS, Fernandez, Malacia, Lindelof, Mainoo, Amad, Hannibal, Hojlund, Eriksen, Garnacho
Stuck and extra left back in squad as Shaw is also cover for Martinez.
Ideally sign Amrabat to cover no. 6 but keep Mainoo around the squad. Ideally offload Sancho and bring in Harry Kane to allow Rashford to move back to no. 11.
Ideally another CB and Frimpong for WBS but unrealistic.
Defo sell: Maguire, McTominay, Fred, Martial (if we can!)

Well ETH wanted seven players before the window opened i.e. 2cfs, 2mids, cb, rb, gk with the the rb out of the equation atm, so with Mount, Onana, and Hojlund probably in, if we are able to get Amrabat(fred out), Disasi(maguire out) and maybe Felix on loan thats six players coming in, then i would rate this window a solid 8.5 out of 10.
If we play a more possession based game( which is very likely) Donny will be a good back up for mount in the no.8 role. Kinda like milner for Liverpool when they want to contain or finish off a game while resting vital players
The key for next season is : will Anthony start using his right leg?…….. because last season he was responsible for a lot slowing down and leaving enormous quantities of space unused.

Mount was the best player of Chelsea when they won the CL so at his top he is a world class player. With more confidence and the attacking play of Ten Hag I'm sure he is the right guy My only concern is the backup for Casemiro when he is suspended or injured. I'm hoping that Ten Hag has a plan for that, if we see at the end of the transferwindow no news then we know enough. That will be because ten Hag will use a youth player to develop in that position, maybe Mainoo, does someone know if Savage deserves a chance?
If we can get Højlund and Onana before the pre season, it'd be awesome. We need to hit the ground running immediately

The top 11 looks fine.I don’t think they can win the EPL as I just don’t think the squad is deep enough.It’s going to take multiple windows to catch City but that’s ok as long as we cut the deficit that’s the key here.
The weaknesses are the second unit behind them; Sancho, Maguire, McTominay, Martial's unreliability, Eriksen's age etc. Otherwise, that's a proper 15-man squad. Title winning squads have 22 top quality/reliable players. The squad is fractionally behind Arsenal's but substantially behind Man City's. Man United overachieved last season with major holes in the starting 11, maybe they Ten Hag can do that again. Reasonable expectations this year should be 3rd and a trophy.
I do genuinely think that Sancho will work better this season having Mount and Bruno work closer when on the wing. He loves the close inter play which he isn't getting given the right wing shift tends to be pretty isolated.
It's just the drop off after that that's concerning.
@@biggusheadus5880 The problem with Sancho is that he's a number 10 in a team that has five number 10's/inverted wingers that all do that job better and quicker than him. He needs to move to another club that need his qualities. Man United don't need any more of his type upfront, they lack two strikers and a quick right winger that stays wide.
The inverted wingers don't do it better all the time. Antony has one foot and is too predictable.. Occasional worldies will be replaced with ball dominance this season nose likely.
Good video, but you're underestimating Sancho Sam. I'd start him- I certainly don't think he'll be competing with Amad or Pellistri. Antony is the player who'll have to step up.
Here's the better question. Would United fans prefer spending all the budget on Harry Kane and kept everybody or sign these 3. United finished 36 goals behind City, 30 behind Arsenal, hell they finished 12 goals behind Spurs who scored 70...with Kane bagging 30 of them. Let that sink in. They also finished 3rd in goals allowed and led the league in clean sheets with 17, almost half of their games. If anyone thinks that Onana, Mount and Hojlund going to make up a 36,30 goal difference......good luck with that. Of course one can hope that Onana will score some goals to help reduce that gap. I assume he's going to give up less than 43 goals and have at least 17 clean sheets. Anything less and changing the GK will be a failure.

I think it’d be wise to add another DM and drop casemiro to varanes spot from time to time to maximise their longevity through the season…Alan Varela would do think he got 12.8 million pounds release clause…just to mix things up n speed this transfer market up so they can all go for preseason.
I think we'll see more of a box MF like other top teams play now. Case plus a FB (i suspect it will be Dalot most of the time) holding for counter attacks and Mount and Bruno pressing in duel 10/8 roles.
Once we've delayed the counter (assuming we don't win the ball back), we'll fall back into a 433.
I didn't realise Hojland is more of a Kane esque striker than a Haaland. If he plays a bit deeper, perhaps he plays Rashy and Antony through for 1 on 1s plus scores headers and arriving late goals like Kane does. Haven't seen him play, so don't know if that's a good reading or not.
If bruno and mount contribute enough in defensive than this will be a great season comeeeee on united😊

i do hope we scrap 4231. against bigger teams we are overwhelmed beyond belief. newcastle, liverpool, arsenal, brighton, every time they switch the play our fullbacks are one on one. two pivots physically cant and wont cover the whole width of midfield. they are being dragged like a dog and we wonder why we concede so many chances against teams that is great at switching plays quickly. you expect casemiro fred to double up against the left wingers then right wingers while also dealing with threat down the middle. while the number 10 defend against nobody. if we play 4231 again next season, dont be shocked if we lose 3-0 4-0 against the teams i mentioned above.
I think if rashford could adapt to rw and play sancho in the lw it could be more better for United cause I don't really think Antony doesn't brings that much offensive outputs in this team tbh he's not much of a direct Winger like Greenwood
that team would be great, but the depth of the squad is not good enough? top four is going to be a lot harder, with chelsea, newcastle. arsenal even city updating squad. we need the take over to happen!!!!!
