@@user-malachihis career is fine, but people are allowed to disagree and not be silenced just because he's a sports player, he's in the spotlight, he's going to be scrutinized more than a typical person. He even reduced Taylor Swift to his teammate's girlfriend, now I'm no swifty fan, but I know who she is, a kicker for a football team, I do not. The problem with his speech is that it's more divisive language, in a country that's splintering much to politician's delight, this is more fuel for the fire. In a commencement speech, you just congratulate them on their accomplishments and end it there, they don't need to hear about his wife, his political views, none of that. He wants to talk about it, find another time and place. I do not care about a celebrity's views, any of them, but they're shoving them in wherever they can find an audience.

But it's clearly a conservative university. Conservatives have faced no end of angry and often unhinged criticism and outright lies for at least the past two decades. His speech fit that context. Moreover, truth, by its very definition, is divisive. It excludes everything false. So if his words seem divisive to you, it's only because they highlight the contrast between his view and your own.

@@dudebro9091 In YOUR opinion. Not every woman wants to have a traditional family. Let people live how they want to live, and don't force your opinions onto others. Also your name is dude bro, i highly doubt you're a woman. Also, sorry to say this, but with today's economy, it's practically impossible, unless the man is a millionare or has six digits, to be financially stable and have kids. Houses cost $500,000 for a house built in 1987, imagine newer houses. You expect the woman to just have no money to her name and only help with the kids while the husband is struggling to pay the bills? How's that gonna help their kids? Also careers are not the only way to find worth, he was just running his mouth if he said that because nobody said that even once. People have worth in multiple different things and have different viewpoints on what is worthy, so again, keep your opinions to yourself; nobody asked. Man was acting like he was holding a political presentation, rather than congradulating everyone for their accomplishments, yet felt the need to put down women for no reason? Also, did you know that his mom is in the medical field? To his own logic, her work was for nothing, but that said work helped her husband with the bills right? Which helped them both raise a child because they had the money to do so? The fact that he's so emasculated by his own mother is embarrassing. Not to mention the fact all he does is kick balls for a living (which he isn't even good at), so I don't know why he's running his mouth.

WOW, just, WOW. Well, we do have free speech in this country, thank God, so this young man can express this anywhere and at any time. As a Christian there are a few things he stated that I agree with. However, it's sad to me his statements about women, gay peoplet, aking us backwards to the early pre-Vatican II church and its traditions and "staying in your lane" philosophy. I grew up in the 1960s and 70s in the Episcopal church in Dallas, TX and while my congregation was more up to date and modern it was still pretty steeped in the Catholic tradition. I was baptized at 2 y. o and Vatican II had just been established. Our priests were. married, had families, and were absolutely wonderful men (our head priest and his wife were my Godparents). I attended a parochial school, chapel each morning (with chapel caps), mass every Sunday, children's choir, youth program, church camp and Catechism class/ confirmation at 15 y. o., I was an acolyte (first class for girls!), and had my marriage with pre-marital cou counseling. My parents are buried there in the chapel columbarium and I will be as well. Over the years my church has evolved as many other protestant denominations are SLOWLY but surely doing. God gave us a brain and I believe an open mind to new ideas and to, most of all, embrace all His children no matter who they are. Jesus taught us two main principles: love God and love your neighbor as yourself so, to not love yourself is to not love God since we are made in His/Her image. This young man is so afraid of not "staying in his lane" that he condemns those who don't. I've known people like him throughout my lifetime and I have always felt sorry for them. They are so dead set on what they perceive as wrong that they cannot see beyond their own fears. His passive aggressive and black and white attitude is what's been a constant downfall for all of us human beings on this earth since the beginning. He's not alone in his opinions and beliefs . However, those that don't hold these beliefs need to continue to speak out loudly, boldly and often if we are to love one another and survive as a species. His words smack of hatred and for this we should be both alarmed and extremely sad.

Guess what, nuns and priests of the Catholic Church live successful and fulfilling lives and are celibate. The same with other catholics who choose to live a celibate life for reasons of faith. So his point is… you guessed it, he is just acting obtuse and unchristian like. The word of the Bible teaches us not to throw the first stone and not judge others. His words are filled with judgement on women and families in general. He should take care of his family in the Catholic faith, and leave others alone. He should also go and read the Bible and understand what free will means 😉. Free will and lack of judgement and by consequence the freedom of choice to live as we feel it’s best is a conquest of Christianity. Uplifting!? He was against several things and people, so downpushing would be a better description. Women are uppity, gays are uppity, Biden is uppity. Whether or not he has freedom of thought and freedom of speech, he was not saying to everyone that they are righteous, worthwhile, fully equal human beings. That would be uplifting. He was saying that fully half of the population, and more, should get back under the male half's bootheel. Because God ordained it. And that these people have been lied to that they also should have freedom of thought or freedom of speech, or the right to pursue happiness.

Either way, it’s important to understand having families is the foundation of a well prosperous society. Kids need a parent home present and mothers naturally have that nurturing presence as designed by nature. We struggle with broken families, kids with identity crisis, and strangers raising our children. That isn’t right. We need families with good values teaching their kids the right way but that requires humility and selflessness at the expense of modern feminism.

"Freedom of Speech" is not the argument that people seem to think it is. People seem to forget that freedom of speech is a right extended to everyone, and it means that yes, you have the right to say things publicly that others may or may not agree with. But it also means that those of us listening to you have the right to respond both in and out of favor.
