- Paddy Keenan dedicates this tune, O'Rourke's Reel, to me...Ryan O'Rourke. This is one of the tunes he is well known for playing in his distinctive style. I had asked him at intermission if he could play it since it's named for my ancestors. Paddy is a super nice guy.

Wow, that's really nice!
I sat in for a set with them at this show. I held on for dear life trying to keep up, but it's an experience I'll never forget.
I played with an Irish music band called Finnegan's Wake' in the late 60's. We used to play this. I always found the chord changes back tingling good. Haven't heard it for many years. That tingle's back again!!!!
i guess Im kinda randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to stream new tv shows online ?
@Keanu Kason i use flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
@Kareem Cain Definitely, I've been using FlixZone for since april myself :D

One of the best tunes I´ve heard so far! Can´t stop hear it
Dear mr. O`Rourke,
I truly love the reel, and its even as nice to play as to hear it.
sounds great on the tenor banjo.
This tune must be never forgotten by Irish trad. musicians!
Paddy Keenan is a good man.!
God bless him and his pipes.
Brilliant Performance Paddy
Fantastic player
very knowledgeable Iwould posit we might not have anything to play without him.
Good Luck

I know quite a few pipers, but Paddy is Legend!

This was a wonderful concert at Congregation Or Ami in Richmond, Virginia, sponsored by the Richmond Folk Music Society.

Un très bon joueur de cornemuse irlandaise ( uillean pipe ) ! Il a fait partie du groupe BOTHY BAND .
I disagree friends :-) the guitar adds atmosphere and gave a nice sounding xtra dimension that helped cut down the high level output of the uillean pipes of Paddy, these pipes go LOUD :-) -- and the guitar smooths down the entire wall of sound ..
Unbelievable playing...... it's true, as some others have said: the guitar is superfluous.
@surveyoffilmmusic you're not needed
Very talented musician but I met him twenty years ago and he was far from a nice guy.
listened to this about 10 ten times. Guitar player ruins it.
From the future: To be fair, its probably much more fun and lively to play with somebody else and have another persons energy feeding in...especially in a setting like this when you don't get a lot of feedback from the audience as everyone is quiet and (presumably) not dancing. Also, I think the guitar players arrangement is really quite nice. It doesn't come through very well with how this is filmed however...remember that this isn't exactly a studio recording...nothing is balanced with the musicians input and a video recording from the front row from a 2009 camera isn't even going to adequately capture what the performance sounded like in that space. I'm pretty cautious and weary about guitar accompaniment, but I think Paddy knows what's up.
It would've been better without the guitar,
the guitar was 100% not needed...... :-/
Guitar player has no rhythm, timing or feel for Irish music
