Revisiting Star Trek: DS9's “The Visitor” | Warp Factor | SYFY WIRE
I cry every time I watch this episode, especially now after I lost my Dad. The most emotionally packed episode in Trek history and still my favorite. A small quiet episode that packs a huge punch in the gut.
Same. And I mean SAME.
This is my dad's favorite episode of this series. Impeccable writing. One of Tony Todd's best, if not his best, performances ever.
This is one of DS9 most powerful and emotionally charged episodes of the entire series, its always been one of my top fav episodes of all time, great performances all around.
Agreed. Spot on
By far the best and most emotional DS9 episodes.
Absolutely 💯
I don’t think any episode of Trek ever hurt me as badly as this episode did.
I am obsessed with this show, it smashes ALL my nerd buttons.
🚨NERD ALERT 😉 🚨
The Visitor and obviously In The Pale Moonlight are 2 of the best written episodes of any tv series ever. I'm a massive TNG fan but hold the aforementioned DS9 episodes along the best of TNG. I remember back at university showing my friend In The Pale Moonlight and by the end he was instantly converted to Star Trek. Still a fan to this day.
Deep Space Nine made me a better person.....
I know I'm not the only one that feels that way. This show was everything to me when I was kid!! #loveit
You are not by any means the only one who feels this way. This is magic.
Star Trek: Sisko! Yes please.
^^ Us anytime we hear Sisko
Maybe in the mirror universe, Kurtzman's empire doesn't exist and I too would be excited about the prospect of this!
Seeing the Picard legacy reduced to a forgettable shart is bad enough....
This is the only episode from every Star trek series that actually made me tear up.
Every time that I watch this Episode I always think that it is Great Episode to watch around Father's Day, just because it is one of the best Jack Ben Sisko Father Son Episodes on DS9
The dedication in Jake's book always reminds me of Futurama when Fry realises that his brother didn't steal his name, but gave it to his son "to carry on his spirit". Hits hard
I saw this episode for the first time yesterday and I'm still shaking
Just saw this episode the other day! So Amazing. Truly Brilliant.
I'm on another run through DS9 just now and hit The Visitor. Absolutely destroys me everytime.
Saw this episode for the 1st time last week and.......yep...this grown man cried like a baby
My hat's off to Nog....and I mean it too. By the era of the All Good Things uniforms, he's a Captain, with presumably a ship and crew of his own, yet out of loyalty to his childhood friend, he pulls an old ship out of drydock and rounds plump the old DS9 crew, and of course Dax would go, Sisko is her beloved old friend, and Bashir clearly had that much respect for Captain Sisko to tag along as well.
With the lost of my father, this episode 😢
Now watching DS9 for the first time, and this episode was the most touching so far.
I saw this episode the other day and fell in 💘 all over again. Just brilliant!
The writer of this episode had to experience a lost. The bond between the two made me recall the relationship with my own father and my now son. Black people in the future.. got to love it.
Sisko always gives us the feels ❤️
DS9 has been my favorite Star Trek series series since it premiered, and The Visitor is my favorite episode.
Is that THE baseball from DS9? The one signed by everyone? I tweeted at Ira asking what happened to it!
some day the story will continue in this one or another reality
For me, The Visitor is the best episode.
Star Trek Deep Space Nine's episode The Visitor shows that no bond is greater than that of a child and his or her parents. There is no higher bond I have than that which I have with my parents. I cried the most watching this episode than I did any other Star Trek episode.
Jake Sisko has no bed! 😂
😏 Nice superman reference... This episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine always gets me so moved, almost brings a tear to my eye 😢. The sacrifice that Jake made to save his father was just extremely moving.
It was a great episode and I like DS9 is was different as Star Trek BUT still very much Star Trek, I enjoy all the characters and when the Ferengi are in episode I really enjoy it. Uhura HAILING FREQUENCIES OPEN spotlight YES!!. I still would like your insight on the Andorian commander and Archer's enemy/ friend relationship.
I love Shran. He’s my favorite part of that series. Jeffrey Combs never fails.
Will you be doing the TOS episode "The Omega Glory" for your July 4 show?
Nail on the head! DS9 is the best.
i love this episode' i have seen it four times so far.
I care bruh... I care... DS9 fan fa life🤪
Did he just say he loves discovery? I don’t get it. Where’s the punchline?
❣️
Spoiler alert if this is as far you've gotten in Deep Space 9, what a bummer.
The Wire!
Or the Enterprise one where they burn off an entire planet's atmosphere by mistake.
