About Tyler Childers:
Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky is a little town called, Paintsville, where the economy is dependent on the dying coal industry and a tradition of music thrives with the US 23 Country Music Highway Museum and Butcher Hollow. Carrying on the music tradition is native son and current Lexington, Kentucky resident, Tyler Childers.
Paintsville is located in the Big Sandy River Valley of Johnson County in Eastern Kentucky made famous for its lawlessness, religion, and booze, and a song about a horse thief, a rambling man, and an attempt to gain some good ol’ Appalachian self-justice is what “William Hill” is all about. Following his “Papaw” around to the Kentucky social institutions - church events and barber shops to name a few- as well as a lot of coon hunting with his dad, Tyler has heard a tale or two about the misadventures of a few good ol’ boys and he gives his own spin of these accounts behind a whisky-soaked voice well beyond his young age.

Lyrics:
Daddy worked like a mule mining pike county coal
He fucked up his back he couldn't work anymore
He said one of these days you'll get out of these hills
Keep your nose on the grindstone and out of the pills
See the ways of this world just to bring you to tears
Keep the lord in your heart you'll have nothing to fear
Live the best that you can and don't lie and don't steel
Keep your nose on the grindstone and out of the pills
Well daddy I've been trying i just can't catch a break
Theirs too much in this world that i can't seem to shake
But i remember your words lord they bring me to chills
Keep your nose on the grindstone and out of the pills
Keep in mind that a mans just as good as his word
It takes twice as long to build bridges you burn
And there is hurt you can cause time alone cannot heal
Keep your nose on the grindstone and out of the pills

I'm hoping me and my daughter can cover this song personally I like white house road a little better this one has hammer ons that are cool and to sing it in that key requires a capo when I was younger I didn't think i needed one but for songs like Wonderwall and Landslide or even Brian Adam's run to you
There’s pop radio country 🤢the there’s THIS, real country. This is what they meant by real country.
@@jamierick674 we haven’t been asked that before I don’t think but it’s on Bandcamp for download if that helps and that could he put on a CD I would think
It's true, this is the country my Dad raised me on and really reminds me of both of us😢❤
All these years I thought I didn't like Country. Turns out I was just listening to the wrong Country music.
100%. There is a lot of amazing country... most if it you will never hear on the radio.
Waylon Jennings "i've always been crazy" ,live. 👍
Same brotha
There are two types of country you got Nashville country and red dirt country
Same here man same here
“Takes twice as long to build bridges you burned”
Edit: thanks for the likes guys, that line hit home so much during a hard time of getting clean from heroine, think im finally making a breakthrough with a relationship with my family again ❤
Never heard that Andrew it's cool
Dion Paschini well listen to the song you might
Dj Burdon that line has more meaning than an ex girlfriend... if you know someone who is a drug addict or are one yourself then you will understand what he means about burning bridges.
I never crossed a bridge I have not burned
Yes sir .... Beyond true !!
The way he says "Daddy I've been trying I just can't catch a break" always send shivers
You too huh? Tyler has quite a few lyrics that give me chills....His words remind me of my kid's Dad,may he rest in peace. We love you Kurt Rist!!
Literally
I am a fan. I love your voice
I have to sing it every time. I have only had a handful of songs really touch me over the years. Tyler has half a dozen.
The way he says “daddy I been tryin I just can’t catch a break..” or almost everything. Great guy.
I had this song on repeat in rehab and early recovery, it's gotten me through alot to say the least! Almost 7 months opiate free.... thanks Tyler
Keep strong
Keep that shit far from you. You need just yourself. Focus on what you like. Focus on the better man you can be.
Sep 3 I took my LAST dose of methadone. Time to walk the dog on this life. Congratulations. Not a better feel than betting something you thought was undefeateable.
@Big Hush that's awesome, pulling for you man. Stay strong
I been a few years from oxy. Turned to likker. Sucks Back pain and three surgeries.
I just found this song a couple of weeks ago and my friends are like "man why are you playing that all the time" They don't understand why a black man would be listening to this. I said there's just some music that touches your soul.
This comment is truth...You can feel every word.
White black red yellow. Our souls don’t have color or form.
100%
Truth... some music just grabs your soul
I think it's about the soul with which one sings and writes, Temar. Love to you, brother.
"Daddy I been tryin', I just can't catch a break...." Man that line hits me right in the feels. This is what music is supposed to be.
Hits me hard
That line still hits me hard. I lost my dad two weeks ago and now it brings me to tears every time.
Amen Brother
Found out a month ago my old man had a tumor in his urinary tract. They scheduled surgery end of the month to remove it and had a follow up appointment yesterday to see how things were. Sister called me last night with vague info about bladder cancer and needing seven more surgeries and chemo over the next three years.
Life has given me gut punch after gut punch but I don’t know what I’ll do without my old man.
This line definitely brought tears to my eyes on my way to work.
@@CowboyBleepBlop Man I'll keep you and your dad in my prayers. Hang in there
I just discovered this man's music today im 99 days sober and have lost so much and suffered alot of loss. My baby momma died from an OD she gave me 2 beautiful babies. Ill live for them and make sure they remember the good mother she was. Good song
So sorry for your loss. Music is such a powerful force, we hope Tyler's tunes can help.
Broken window serenade, Whiskey myers
Keep your head up, them babies need you so damn much. Be the man you know you can be
im literaly so happy for u ^^ i wish you the best luck
God bless you good soul!
If these lyrics don't haunt you, either you didn't live them or you're too far gone. If you didn't live them, don't look down on those who did. If you're too far gone, come back my brother, as long as you're still breathing you've still got a chance..
Amen brother! Amen
I can hear in his voice, he's walked a lot of the same roads I have.

That was beautifully put. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪
There is always hope... Doesn't matter how many times you've fucked up before.
"Well keep in mind that a man is just as good as his word, it takes twice as long to build bridges you've burnt, and there's hurt you can cause time alone cannot heal." These words are the reason I'm 5 days clean from heroin
We're so happy to hear that this song is helping you. We wish you luck in your recovery.
Hey how is your recovery going bud? God bless you, im super proud of you stepping up and keeping clean, that shit almost killed my brother.
Hope all is going well for you in your journey my friend. Praying you are still clean.
I'm doing great, kind of feeling lost in this life at times. 8 years is a long time to be gone, but ill figure it out. Appreciate your guy's kind words.
Don't give up bro! Honestly the first year or year in a half even I felt pretty lost too cravings will come and go for that first year too, im about 3 and a half years sober from heroin keep up the good shit dude
Iv been clean for 5 years. Since the moment I watched my baby boys eyes open. This song sends shivers up my spine
Respect to you a true man
Way to be Brother.
3 years here.. Sends chills up mine too, man..
Yep it can change a man... I know
Never give up man.
This song alone saved my life, I was ina hole you couldn’t climb out of alone from a lifetime of hard drugs and violence. Tyler spoke to my soul and that’s something I never thought I’d ever say but here I am 4 yrs later sober and thriving
Congrats, Cortlin! Keep it up.
You’re not alone my friend! God bless 🙏🏼
Keep it going man, it's hard but worth it! 👊
Isn't it crazy how nobody care that your sober. everyone's just waiting for the ball to drop
Life changes when a person comes sober for a long period of time.
I sent this to my Dad back when I was trying to get clean. Spent 10 years a slave to that drug. This coming February I'll be 3 years sober from those damn pills! 😁
👏 hoping that you've still clean hun!
@@theresasquirestheresa Yes Ma'am goin strong never lookin back
I played this song over and over and over. I learned all the words, the tone, each pause. Decided to get sober that was about 18 months ago. Music can heal.
Congratulations. Stay vigilant. Stay strong.

This man carries the pain of Kentucky in his voice..
Please Mr. Childers..Do tell👂😔
Not Just Kentucky. LIFE!
Alabama too
I feel the same, Jacob. His music takes me back home, every time!
Arkansas
Im from Pike county , Kentucky and I feel his music in my very soul.
Not really a country fan but this song needs to be on the radio... tired of hearing yeti coolers and lifted chevys
That stuff you hear now isn't real country music, it's hick hop. This is country music, the music of our country from in the people in the rural country.
Stuff now a days is stadium country music. There is only a handful of good country singers today that play good stuff. I listen to the old country music like bluegrass, outlaw country, country blues and country- folk. I hear people say they hate country a lot, but they usually don't realize how many genres of country there is.
Same brother. Wish radios would play more of The Dead South and stuff like this
Hate to break it to ya but if you like this..... You like country.
True country here ..I'll take this anyday over the stuff on the radio
this is true country. full of passion and heart. you can feel the pain and the soul in the music. hard to find anything like this these days
Couldn't agree more! Glad you found this
This IS NOT Country, it's Appalachian Blue Grass.
He started singing and I got chills all over my body,I thought I didn’t like country but I been listening to the wrong country
Congratulations my friend, you’ve found real country music. If I may suggest, Sturgill Simpson, Benjamin Tod, Colter Wall. Max Gomez, Charley Crockett. Jamie Johnson. Whitey Morgan and the 78’s, to name a few. All great artists who are keeping the real sound alive. Can’t go wrong with any one of those names.

It's southern rock dear
I think this is firmly in the folk category myself

About the same age brother. Look into Bluegrass music. I'm sure you'll find something!
Welcome home :)
Come on home, boy
So you grew up on shit. There's actually real music, such as this, out there.
Never stop lookin bud lol youll be amazed at some of the talent out there. TC is the real deal. Lol

Yesterday I left Appalachia for good. I kept my nose on the grindstone and out of the pills. I thank God every day I did.
Good for you brother
Get strong enough to go back home to your Mountains and THrive!
The fact that this man doesn't need a drummer, back up singer, 2 guitarist, and auto toner shows humanity what real talent is.
Why is Mr. Childers never on the radio?
Beats me
They don't play real music on the radio
His music is just TOO DAMN REAL!
Same reason NF is not on the radio!!!

Words can’t describe what this song means to me. My daddy worked in pike county in the mines, and he also hurt his back and had to quit working. He was a very wise and humble man, and always gave the same advice to me and my brother. He passed away January 1st of this year, and when I miss him I listen to this. Thank you so much for writing this, it’s as if me and my brother wrote this for our dad. Coal mining daddy’s are the best ❤️
Devin Baker That is awesome. We want to hear his advice if you’re willing to share.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Everytime the lights turn on remember
Devin Baker I grew up in that area too. I moved away several years ago, but his music can always bring me back to the holler when I’m missin home.
God bless you ❤
Went from being a hardcore addict on meth and pills to a nursing student with a full time job. Keep on the grindstone
Keep it up, man! Congrats.
That’s amazing! Keep going man; it’ll all be worth it
Beautiful brother, never look back.
Love you brother
Stay the course
“It takes twice as long to build bridges you’ve burnt,
And there’s hurt you can cause, time alone cannot heal”.....
scary how music can just pinpoint exactly what’s in your heart
Definitely agree 💯💜💚❤️
My favorite part of the song. Sooooo true.
Being born, raised and still living in Appalachia (and going back generations)not all that far from where Tyler is from, this song hits so hard and brings me to tears. He is definitely the musical voice of Appalachia for my generation and I’m so glad to see him getting the recognition he deserves.
You can hear the pain in his voice. Real unusual as a black person to listen to country but a lot more of of can relate to this than you think.
Nagee Cathey Mexican here 🙋♂️it’s like I can feel the pain
Painful and hard times befall everyone it's not segregated to race or ethnicity. Tyler's lyrics and raw emotions can resonate with any one who's struggled.
Sorrow and agony know do not know color..
That’s not true at all
It was a non Caucasian persuasion neighbor that suggested this song...hits the gut fs.
between him and colter wall there is still hope for good music out there
Isaiah Williams Good music has never went away. Its just not being recognized
Joshua Stevens Sturgill, Cody, Shooter, Jamey, The Dead South, Steeldrivers. And good ole' Shotgun Willie is still at it.
Don't forget isbell
Sam Bjustrom8877u isbell is pretty good he just ain't got the style and grit
Whiskey Myers is good too
This song was always playing in rehab, been 3 months sober and still play this with a smile on my face. Tyler Childress is awesome and very helpful with recovery.
Such a powerful story - so glad you are doing well and so glad to hear this has helped you on your journey
Keep going! You got this
Let's goo bro you got this 💪 it truly is the devil no doubt keep it up you got this god bless you 🙏
Glad somebody is in this for the kick up the butt. Keep off the pills and all will be okay
I lost my dad in June 2023. It's been a tough year. We have a baby on the way and I Wish he was here. I have been sober for about 5 years, and this song reminds me so much of why I am sober today. To anyone struggling with addiction or seeing family and friend's struggling with addiction, just keep up on them and they COULD pull through. Addiction changes people, but you are not who your addiction made you to be. Theres someone in there, just gotta get to them.
Stand Strong
Hello, how are you doing today? It’s nice to meet you here.
This is what music should be all about... we're talking about a man , a young humble man, standing in a room singing about love, hardship , pain... a man sharing his experience to the world asking for nothing but recognition... there is no vanity present, there are no watches, cars, suits, jewelry or women... he doesn't focus on what he has , he's just grateful to have it, he focusses on the sacrifices it took to get to where he is and in allowing other people to find a connection ...
Thanks so much for watching! Tyler is a real gem in this world, for all the reasons you mentioned. Thank you so much for the comment.
Jesus Christ loves you u
My Dad past away 7 years ago from lung cancer, he worked under ground in Hazard ky for about 40 years he was drafted for the military and served in the army from 1967-1969 this song really hits home sure do miss and love my hard working Dad :( miss you old man!

#nosetothegrindstone
GOD BLESS BROTHER!! Been clean since November 4 2019
Both my parents have battled addiction all 19 years of my life. My mom still occasionally relapses, but my father has been clean for about 7 years now. One thing I learned from them is to not go down that rabbit hole. And if their is something missing in your heart fill it with working.
Congrats!!
Congratulations. That is wonderful, take it one day at a time.♡
Right on buddy! Awesome to hear
I've been cleaning up for about a year now and that's my dream, to own and operate my own pest control company
Even IF it's a one-man show
There is something so raw and real about Tyler's music. It's haunting. The combination of his lyrics with his voice and delivery is almost overpowering sometimes. Hits you like a ton of bricks. A real country outlaw. He already belongs on the country outlaw Mt Rushmore with Williams, Cash Haggard and Jennings.
"almost overpowering at times"
Ain't that the truth
Best description I've heard yet. I don't even have an addiction problem and I'm not the son of a coal miner but this song nearly brings me to tears every time I hear it.
Amen!
I remember the first time I came across this song, I was high as a kite on opiates, any kind I could get my hands on whether it was H or oxy or whatever. I heard this song and that line….”keep your nose on the grindstone and outta the pills”…..and I bawled. I wanted out of that addiction so bad but I was in so deep. Within a week of listening to that song every day….I checked myself into detox and rehab. It was the absolute worst two weeks of my life. I was at risk of having a stroke or a heart attack because it was so bad. Had to be medically supervised around the clock. BP of 180/130. I don’t know how I didn’t die. But I came out of that detox…..and I haven’t looked back since. I just got 2 years clean and sober this past July. And honestly…thank you Tyler. Thank you.
Dude poured out his heart and soul and some fucking creep in the comments is pretending to be Tyler.
Fuck man.
Saying a prayer for you!

There's hurt you can cause time alone cannot heal! You have to be older to get that line. The fact that a kid wrote makes it even MORE amazing!
Yes. Tyler is an old soul. It's scary good.
This song sums up the soul of Eastern Kentucky like none other. Those misty mountains can comfort you but they can also make you feel alone when you’re deep in the throws of an addiction. Alcohol and cocaine nearly killed me but I found a way out. I pray for all my brothers and sisters still lost in the madness may they find some peace one day.
Ain't the truth. Pike co born and raised. 16 yrs if addiction. Took going to prison and losing my wife, kids and everything to straighten up and move to central KY to get away. 8yrs clean

The first lines had me hooked. The voice, the guitar, the song-writing... just shows that there is still real, raw music left in this world. keep your heads up friends, music isn't dead :)
karlawson listen to colter wall
karlawson the music is as old as the Ozarks and the blue ridge mountains from Tennessee to Virginia a few hundred yrs. maybe more , the mountaineers have been playing this folksy blue grass type music. he is really good I'm digging it.
Im from Tennessee and i just caught wind of this! He needs publicity!! Hard to get around these mountains y'all... There's alot of great musicians around here....
Shovels and Rope too. There is good country these days and it lives on CZcams.
karlawson could you give us a listen ?
I'm older but I'll say this. Real music used to say real words. We called it folk music but it bled over into mainstream country. Like Gordon lightfoot etc. THIS... Gives me hope that a new generation will continue to make real songs and music. Commercial America has lost its cultural roots. This is great.
I think it’s time to get my life together.
Keep your nose on the grindstone and out of the pills

Dear diary, today I discovered another masterpiece..
Covered this song during a gig at a local bar and every soul in that whole damn joint was completely silent and listening. I truly believe that is how you tell whether or not a song is good. The fact that it can quiet 40 or so people is amazing.
You should post a vid of the cover
Id be really interested in watching that cover.

I wish I could hear this for the first time again. Always chills.
Hurt, pain, and regret wrote this song. Tyler just felt it and sang it with his soul.
One of the realest voices in music. Thanks for checking us out!
I never thought I would ever find a country song/artist that I actually liked. Was listening to Rage Against the Machine Pandora and this song came on. Still kinda baffles me as to why it did, but I'm thankful I was introduced to such a great talent.

Tyler and Colter Wall have gotten country back into my playlists again.
Arlo McKinley is ridiculously underrated as well.
What about Sturgill? I'm not sure where he's from though

Tyler has such an awesome ability to reach fans of all genres, so glad you found this. Thanks for checking us out!
This isn't country, it's Appalachia.
t blues with maby country feel. He is singing and playing his chords and embellishments. That's why he is not blues guitar. Now maby Stapleton has blues guitar style licks and arrangements. Still too country for me. But I'm a blues man.
I found this song today, brought me to tears. I am a recovering addict. Started with pills and moved to crack and heroin. I am blessed I recovered, that I’m still alive. So many bridges burned, so many lies. But no more! Just loving life! Thank you god.

@TylerChilders-qn5hv damn straight. I am very picky about music and artists too! Lol, seriously, I can tell all of your songs are from the heart and you have some experience with all that you write. You have also re inspired me and taught me a lot about playing the guitar. 😤🐐
"Keep the Lord in your heart and you'll have nothing to fear." True my man true. God Bless you for this. May God Bless your career and the message of his undying love for us.
Jesus Christ loves you u
Im a metal head...but this man gives me chills whenever I hear his voice.
same here
There is a pretty big metalhead/folk music culture. Especially in the bluegrass festival community.
I live in pike county and my dad works in the coal minds words can’t describe how much this song means to
Same….
What a voice, instant chills through my spine when he started to sing! This is Country music with capital C! Greetings from Belgium!
From Oklahoma! Don't ever sell out bud. Your music brings a ring to my ear. My family is from West Virginia my grandma and grandad got out of there thanks to the air Force. Both of my great grandads died from black lung. it's beautiful country and we still have family there.
Being from the town over from where your from Tyler “pikeville” and I’m balling in the shower rn coming off heroin, I just wana say thank you man thank you a lot 😢
Sorry to hear you are sick right now, Scott, we hope you can power through it. Music can help! Much love...
It’s a damn shame the epidemic here in maysville. Good to see a Kentucky boy making something of himself
Stay safe brother
I’m form pikeville to yeah the drug epidemic is pretty bad over here hope your recovering good
Please check yourself into rehab or sober living, my dad found this little church that take in drug addicts as long as they aren't sober and it saved his life
This will forever make me think of Dad. He never mined. But being told every day for first half of my life to keep my nose go the grind stone still plays in my head
Late to this. Found it this week. Hits me like a tornado every time. 43 years old and one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Puts tears in my eyes every listen. It's helping me through some really hard times as well. Needless to say, huge Tyler Childers fan at this point. And, tears in my eyes again.
So happy it connected and truly hope things get better soon - Mike
Follow You to Virgie.
My family was forced to be seperated due to my ma being deported. Me and my Dad worked mercilessly 24/7 for 10 years to reunite the family
I had to travel between the US back and forth to check up on ma and reassure her that we'll be together soon.
Its been 7 months since they got back toghteher
Life is good
I'll be enlisting soon
Its my turn now
🍻🍻🍻
“There’s to much in this world that I can’t seem to shake” my god what a line.
Im 12th generation Irish/American, born and raised in the Southern Appalachians and Tyler Childers songs touch nerves that only a man born and raised in these hills can touch. Long live Southern Appalachia!
Amen!
Brother I'm irish/commanche Indian been in Texas my whole life and Tyler's music always moves me
R.I.P. Daddy. I'm blessed you didn't have to go through the worst of the ALS and glad o had the opportunity to take care of you and live with you for the 3 weeks before you decided you were tired of hurting. After 15 years of not living with you pops, those last 3 weeks we had together I will cherish for eternity. I'm sorry dad I'm only 24 and haven't gotten my shit straight but I'm going too. I'm going to make you proud. I'll forever think about us looking at the stars until 4 in the morning that last morning. It still hasn't even registered yet that you've passed. I'm so lost but I'm gunna keep my nose to the grindstone. I love you dad. I can't wait to be with you again someday
Im a native american/african american 21 year old man who was adopted by white parents and have been struggling with a substance addiction on and off for 4 years. I found this song a year ago, showed to me by a co worker who had been raised in a different way than I. I was raised with some country music, but I generally don't partake. Music does not discriminate between race, color, or creed. When a man or woman is singing from the soul, it resonates to those who seek the same truth: We are all humans, and humans make mistakes. But it takes true humility to accept that you have to take accountability for your actions, and the only way to have the strength to do that is asking God for help. And God is good, so any potential good you see in others is God working through them.
Stay strong brother 💪🏼 we are with you no matter how lonely shit can get
Amen brother
Well said bother
This song should be mandatory curriculum at every High School in America.
B.s. music should be discovered for each individual when it is meant to be
Just heard this song on the show Yellowstone. About time Tyler is getting more recognition. Pure, real and true music/talent.
A true & pure talent indeed.
Yellowstone is brutal lol
Love that show
“Keep in mind that a man is just as good as his word, it takes twice as long to build bridges you burn, and there’s hurt you can cause, time alone can’t heal” never heard truer words
I can't believe how much this song has moved me. I'm Mexican and don't do country but there is something about this song that has touched my soul! Tyler Childers u r amazing and have a talent to touch souls of all human beings. ❤
A true artist and storyteller!
Nose to the grindstone hope for all amen...
Hello I see happiness all around you, can I please share from it ❤
Keep in mind that a man is just as good as his word is something today’s generations will NEVER understand
Not all of us Fathers forgot the old ways. Two sons I'm very proud of. 20 and 19 shaping up to be fine men. They are out there my man. Know a few more just like them.
Yellowstone brought me here. I hear, the pain, the truth, and the hopefulness of the lyrics. This is a gift. What music is meant to be.
I thought i didnt like country. As a Hispanic i never really grew up around it other than what id hear on tv and i thought thats what country was. Then i got older and absolutely fell in love and eventually started listening to real country music
I highly recommend Little Sparrow by Dolly Parton. Absolutely divine. ❤️
Can’t quit listening. I’ve buried more than have my family to drug addiction here in Appalachia and this hits home. Thanks for this song
16 days clean. Your helping me stay clean listening over and over.
Congratulations. Wishing you all the best, man.
My dads a miner. He’s been doing it for 10 years and it scares me. He loves you Tyler and he shown me your music and you remind me of him. Thank you ❤
I'm a recovering/relapsing alcoholic with my first kid on the way. I play this on my guitar and I look at myself in the mirror. I'll get there and this helps
Once in awhile we’re blessed with an artist that conveys their life and environment and it strikes a chord with those from all different backgrounds because they feel the words. Childers is that artist nowadays (along with Wall, Jinks, Simpson and Bingham). He is the real deal and that’s why his music resonates with so many people, it’s real….no gimmicks, no polish and no bullshit.
the fact that this song has ANY dislikes infuriates me to no end.
Agreed
CrackerJack Henry probably just a few bible thumpers that are upset that he says f**k
Well they do not have any taste. Simple as that. You should not waste time on it.
It has nothing to do with the music. It's a bunch of trolls who click dislike on everything just to piss normal people off. It's the same bunch that spray paints their vulgarities on everything, stand in the street and block traffic and tear down statues. Not because they don't like it but because they know you do.
Just people who don't like real music.. they love florida Georgia line..lol
I love this guy's music. He should be famous. May God be with him.
So glad to hear you're a fan, thanks for checking this out!
The fact that the most replayed part is the entire song… says everything you need to know about this song.
Born and raised in Nashville. Can’t tell you how nice it is to hear real music again. Tyler, Colter Wall, Sturgill Simpson, etc.. saving country music one song at a time.
This is one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life. It's no different from the advice my dad gave me when I was growing up.
RIP Dad
Thanks, Tyler Childers
Takes twice as long to build bridges you burned may be the best line I have ever heard in my life.
I’ve been clean a little shy of 4 years and this song hits me every single time. Much love brother.
This man is a national treasure. Rattles my soul every time. Thank you for the art, Mr. Childers.
gotta respect the hell outta artists with the courage to open windows into their own struggles for us to empathize with...
The widely held belief that I also support is Let There are two types of musicians the first type are prima donnas they do no wrong and they shit gold the second type coincidentally my favorite type is the group who self loathe I relate better to this group
"Keep in mind that a man's just as good as his word. It takes twice as long to build the bridges you've burned. And there is hurt you can cause time alone cannot heal. Keep your nose on the grindstone & out of the pills."
Words to live by.
Jesus Christ is our savior, he died on the Cross for our sins. Putting your faith in Him is the only way to get to Heaven when you die🙏✝️
Glad someone is making REAL outlaw country in our modern times.
Modern day Merle Haggard
This is what the area we are from calls folk music and it hits many people in their core I'm am addict and it's the reason I no longer do pills but I'll burn ganja all day
How is it he doesnt get play up here in Canada on any media that calls it self "Country" - Yet I cant escape those Luke Bryan songs??....This is what country is all aboot!
Eh
He doesn’t get played down here either. We get the same shitty Luke Bryan here
I've never heard him on the radio. Unfortunately radio country is shit music only.
Hahaha aboot!
Because its about a drug epidemic its too real
I shook it.
Nose to the grindstone did it.
Brings tears to my eyes and fire to my soul.
🤘🙏🤘🙏🤘
This song just hits different..keep your nose on the grindstone folks🙌we all in this together
His voice holds the pain of all the lyrics. Amazing song, singer and person.
