The calcium carbonate in eggshells helps to strengthen a plant's roots so it can grow faster and stronger. Simply crush clean, dry eggshells into a fine powder. If you break the egg shells and sprinkle them evenly they will add to the soil faster and even then it’s not right away. You may want to add a bit of wild soils from and area that has some “natural compost” as the soil should contain soil life that will break down the shells into the form the plant can use.
