    I've had 2 Tmax's. They were fantastic bikes. I would love a 750 for extra power as they rev high at motorway speed and consume significantly more fuel. I have a CBR500r now that I don't use mid week as it is not practical. I used to hop on the Tmax to run across the city for the usual bits and pieces. I miss the under seat storage for my lid and whatever else I needed / had to buy. That means that I ride less and use the car. I'll be going back to a Tmax soon. I don't like the anti-scooter vibe though. Bikes are a tool box, you buy what you need and use it.

    I have been commuting to London for more than 4 years on a Super Scooter and done over 120,000 miles. They are cheap to run, service & insure. Despite the initial purchase price... A long term owner & commuter will get everything they need from a super scooter. Yamaha is without doubt one of the best.

      Do I filter between cars....??

      @@mikadavies660 roads in london are usually packed with vehicles and margins for filtering are tight, especially for a big scooter like the tmax. So my question is, can you easily and safely filter through the city traffic on the scooter and maneuver it in cramped spaces in order to park etc

      @mikadavies660 Před 2 lety +6

      @@hassanjamal4212 I ride a Honda Silverwing.... Which is a 600cc Scooter. Exactly the same size as the Yamaha T-Max. Filtering on a large scooter is easier than a small scooter and easier than a 600cc motorcycle.... For these two main reasons... (1) heavier scooters have very nice balance. Light small scooters move around too easily on the smallest bumps. (2) Motorcycles have gears, clutches etc... Whilst easy to use they are not as simple as a twist & go scooter.
      Aside from my daily commute into & through London. I have 1000cc superbikes which I ride at weekends. So I know very well which is "best" for which job. Gaps between cars are indeed tight but it is also a factor of handlebar width. Most bikes, scooters and motorcycles have exactly the same handlebar width from 125cc to 1,200cc. Unless it's an "Adventure Tourer" BMW GS style / KTM etc. In which case they are 50mm to 100mm wider and they have serious issues with tight gaps. Often they struggle to pass. Hopefully, you have all the questions answered and reasonable information. Regards Mike

    Love my 2019 530dx - the cruise control, tall screen and goldwing-like seat are a Godsend on long motorway trips and it’s as much fun as my “proper” bike in the twisties. I personally don’t think it’s overpriced considering the sheer amount of tech and capability you get - it’s a 20k tourer in more compact form! Not a complaint but my only wish would be for a little more grunt - it’s fast enough but if it had around 75-80bhp and genuine 120mph performance it would be perfect 👍

      Dude I’m with you. Riding the empty motorways of the UK to work during lockdown was such a tonic for my mind. I stuck a cup holder to the inside of the fuel cap (not trade marked ;)) and cruised those roads on a steady 70mph, with coffee! Probably one of my most calm moments in the last ten years. I sadly traded mine for a BMW K1600 Bagger thinking I’d do a lot more miles. Surprise, I didn’t. Not even half. Big touring are such a tense ride (under 5mph) that it wasn’t any fun, I certainly wasn’t comfortable reaching for a cappuccino. I regret my decision so much I’m saving up for another TMAX. If I could have two bikes my choices would be, TMAX and Husqvarna 701 Supermoto. That would be all my boxes ticked. If I could have only one motorcycle for the rest of my life, TMAX no question. It’s that good. And when you learn to lean it u til it scrapes peg/exhaust - it can embarrass a lot of 600cc sportsbike riders. Just don’t do any drag racers 🙈😉
