A Tour of Incredible SINTRA: The Jewel of Portugal
I live in sintra since I was born and I love this video. Eventhough I see these sights everyday, they never loose their beauty to me. I love seeing tourists that enjoy the historical part aswell!!
cool, what do you do in sintra? i thought it's a small town with bunch of scattered castles, never relaized that people actually live there. I was there last year and visited that castle as well. I really loved the portugese ppl i thought they are the best europeans in my opinion
Didn't know much about Portugal, until now that I am discovering it with you Gabriel and its making me wanna go !. Thanks for sharing your adventures !
At 10.30 the "mini"castle you probaly saw is the Convent of Mafra , also very beautiful , also you should've went to the Chapel of Our Lady of Pena, amazing place near the ocean with tremendous views of Sintra and Lisbon. Thank you for visiting Portugal hope you come back still a lot to see and visit.
Found your channel through one Mr Heraldo Baldieri in his recent journey, great content keep entertaining us with more of your adventures!!!
Pena is for sure the most famous one, but I once read an article that there are more than 60 historical palaces/mansions that used to belong to royalty, nobility or high-bourgeoisie in the region of Sintra, it's a pretty amazing place, only been there one time even though I'm from Portugal, I'll have to go again someday cause I missed sooo much!
I am Portuguese bro, but I never been on Castelo dos Mouros em Sintra although I visited Pena e Palacio da Vila! I used to live in Setúbal a great city south of Lisbon very beautiful!
Honestly the best video I've seen on Sintra. Can't wait to visit it next month! Cheers!
Its a very very very long walk to get up there, I recommend the bus too =)
anyways Sintra is amazing!
Sintra é linda, já fui duas vezes e tenho vontade de ir novamente... Parabéns pela viagem!
Wow, that castle is awesome. The views, and the architecture-so much history!
That castle is so classic! Reminds me of the castles I first learned to draw as a kid with the little notches along the side.. It's amazing how different castles can be depending on the country and time period. Enjoy Spain!
Sintra is in portugal not in spain.
***** I know that, thanks though. He is going to Spain as a final stop, so I'm saying have fun in Spain..
Thank you Gabriel, I'll be visiting Portugal soon. You've convinced me to visit Sintra and now it's on my list of places to see. Love the green and happy to know that you trekked, which is what I plan on doing too. Thank you.
If you have time, don't forget to go to the Portinho da Arrábida beach, you will never forget it.
Fyi... Im from Portugal, anyone wishing to travel there, summertime especially August is the busiest time of year. Thanks for this beautiful video of my little country Gabriel.
Best months to visit are May, June, September and October.
OMG! AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL. HOPE TO VISIT SOON! =) CHEERS!
Oh wow love it!!! I also made a couple of videos about Sintra and Lisbon, loved it when I went there!
Great tour and nice video! Hope we will also get to visit Portugal soon! :)
InstaBlaster

9:16: Excellent place and or location to Light up a Jay.
very cool! thank you
Your video is awesome! Thank you for showing how to travel without spending a lot of money. I have a very small budget and I love to travel!
Thanks Sue, glad you enjoyed.
4:35 Ginjinha (sour-cherry liqueur) in a chocolate cup! That's an Óbidos thing, didn't know they have it in Sintra. Did you try that? Sugar overdose, but it's nice.
Too bad you didn't go to the Quinta da Regalheira, that's the most interesting thing to see in Sintra imho.
Quinta da Regaleira is very beautiful. We didn't realize how big it is, therefore, didn't have time to see all of it.
Awesome vid Gabriel! You have to visit Cinque Terre in Italy, that Place is gorgeous!
I had to LOL when you said you thought you were getting close to the top (@ about 6:41)
Beautiful Sintra❤️ i went there in febr. Less people. The weather was fine then. Sun and 20degrees.
Yeah I think that would be a much better time.
love it. i was there a year ago with my wife, who annually walls the Camino de santiago, and her friend. at the entrance her friend says she is not going in as she will look it up on the internet. what!!!!! are you kidding me? who does that?
a drone shot in the Castle you'll notice how nice is that place ☝
Dude, your videos are awesome!!!
Great, thanks.
Kalecimus b
Nice 👍🏽
Should be hitting Sintra in a couple of weeks
Cool.
What video editing software do you use my friend? Great videos!
Thanks, I use Videopad Video Editor.
excelent
Implanning on going there on december do you think it is a good date¿
It could be a bit cool and maybe rainy during that time, so just be prepared for that.
Beautiful! how is the food there?!!
The best food in the world, just try the fish and you will be amazed.
The British surname Morris comes from the French Maurice.
did you get a wide lens film is different?
I switched back and forth between my Olympus and my GoPro, which I've done in previous videos, but there must have been more distortion in this one for some reason because several people mentioned it.
You ever considered living abroad? I'm surprised you haven't moved to Thailand or someplace.
Im Portuguese! :D
♥ ♥ ♥
how do meet your expenses to travel around the world? Are you sponsored
No I'm not sponsored, I'll do a video soon about how I afford to travel.
+Gabriel Traveler ok....plus what you do for living
WILL J
I talk about that in this video:
czcams.com/video/gNj7Pthl9Q4/video.html
+Gabriel Traveler I watched it . That's cool. :D. Also I c u been to India 6 times and didn't visit Kerala once . You missed a beautiful destination .
WILL J
I know, I'll have to visit Kerala the next time.
Pena is that the same word in Spanish with the umlaut above the N meaning pineapple?
He says it wrong, its pena, and he pronounces it has "penha". Pena in Portuguese means Feather.
It can also mean "grief," "writing utensil," or "punishment." Portuguese is a weird language :-)
Don't forget the actual meaning of it: which is Penitence.
+Yishai Davidi
Spanish "peña" means "Rock" or "Grief"; while "pena" means "Feather" or "Punishment", too. Basically same thing as Portuguese. Difference is that the Spanish "peña" in Portuguese is "penha".
You are confusing it with "piña".
'Start spreadin the news', :D any connection to Frank Sinatra, Gabe?
Hello,

Thank you,
Pauline
Yeah sure, no problem.
watch out for pickpockets
It is not a town, it is a village.
rui santos in fact it IS the second most populated municipality in Portugal, after Lisbon...........
Hey Gabriel are you coming to Porto? If you need any tips send me a message! =)
Thanks, but I went south to Faro and then to Spain, I'm now in Granada. I've heard Porto is beautiful though.
Maybe next time..
Hope you have a great time =)
Have fun!
You're 1/3 british, what is the other 2/3?
No, I'm 3/4 British. The other 1/4 is Italian. But I need to confirm what the 3/4 British is, because I thought it was 1/4 English, Scottish and Irish. But then my brother thought it was slightly different. So it's something like that.
Gabe, lol don't even try explaining.
Yeah, it's complicated.
Of course in Spanish it is pina not pena. thinking in Spanish missed it.
Yeah when I got to the palace then I asked them how to pronounce it and it's without the accent on the n.
I do speak the Spanish too but it has been a while and here in Kansas not much need.
That's because we don't have the " ñ ". It simply does not exist in Portuguese. The Spanish " ñ " in Portuguese is represented by the " nh ". Like: España (ES) Espanha (PT)
Palicio de pena...pois.. tenho pena !
Camera problems? Picture all twisted.
What do you mean that the picture is twisted? Everything was normal when I watched it on my computer and on youtube. Maybe a temporary youtube glitch?
Like looking through a disformation glass....First time you put that o n like this. If i am the only one to notice, no big deal then. Too much rain in Montreal. Maybe thats why !!!
Definitely a fish-eye effect during some parts, like the narrow, cobblestone street. No biggie though. Cool vid as always!
Fish-eye effect. Exactly. Nice to be able to put exact words on things. Even in French, i couldn' t have say it better. .
That's the GoPro, I've used it in lots of my videos, you haven't noticed it before Mathieu? Maybe it was just especially distorted in this one while walking up the narrow lanes or something.
Why do you think is better to see your face than the places...!
Palacio de Pena is Islamic for sure, but the other one looks more Scottish.
i was there 7 months ago, i think sintra is overrated and that palace is overrated too, the problem is on the pics and google images ANYTHING looks better than real life!
mezo a whatever...
