To day MCU is the biggest movie franchise in the world and that's only because of RDJ. I don't think that MCU could not have grown to what it is today without RDJ. He is the one who took MCU to this high.
RDJ is so incredibly talented that I feel privileged to watch him in movies like Iron Man, all continuing Avengers films, Sherlock Holmes, Chaplin. He’s also appeared in bit parts on his way to stardom, but he has a way of getting the audience to focus on him, no matter what the scene is about. And he was (and remains) so handsome - very pretty boy at the beginning- but he grows into his looks, and so, in a completely shallow way, I wouldn’t mind staring at him for an hour and a half based solely on his visage. Luckily, he combines that w fantastic acting and (almost always) some form of sarcasm in his roles. For which he is perfect. I can rewatch his films a million times and not get tired of them. We (the audience) are incredibly lucky that he never OD’d during his decades of drugs and alcohol and TBH, if my parents or one of my parents casually gave me drugs at the age of SIX, I don’t think I would realize or recognize the true dangers involved. Eventually, yes, he has to own up to his behavior, but since it apparently began w his father handing him drugs, that sort of permissive household is an addiction waiting to occur [except for maybe THE STRONGEST, MOST MORAL individual on earth]. And that individual has to have some sort of moral stronghold - whether it’s from religion, school, certain friends - but SOMETHING strong enough to override his natural deference to parental influence.
He is phenomenal. He changed the Hollywood landscape forever and gave great inspiration to a whole lot of people as to how important it is to constantly reinvent and pull your self together
Johnny Depp was born to play Jack sparrow, Ryan Reynolds was born to play Deadpool.. Then comes Robert Downey Jr born to play ironman and live as Tony stark
