- In this video I'm taking lizard combo back into the fray without red. Is it good enough?

"I always forget what a fair deck is" :D
@@maxwornowizki422 lmao it's true
@@kalikaiz All good, all good. Thanks for all the content we get for free. Have a great day!
@@maxwornowizki422 you too!
This is my new favorite deck, it’s exciting how many different iterations there are, we haven’t found the ‘best list’ yet! I think people are sleeping on Escape Tunnel as a dual land: it can double as a win condition if you make the lizard unblockable before you combo off 🦎 thanks as always for your great content & insight into the format!!
Hmm yeah true. I think most times it doesn't have haste though. Have to consider it
@@kalikaiz don’t need haste, just wait to combo off until lizard isn’t summoning sick, crack tunnel targeting lizard, then do the glee thing. I feel like it’s a free roll because tunnel is either a tapped land, or lets you get in for lethal unblockable. Also works with evolution witness! I may be biased because I play a version where pumping the lizard or witness is the primary win condition. I quite like your list here tho with its emphasis on using the mana generation & artifact card advantage engine. Keep up the good work!
@@asherhinrichs9566 thanks! I'll keep trying haha
I like these combo decks alot, i`ve been playing the jund version with a small replacement: Essence Warden instead of weathers and its pretty cool even agains the miror matchups
Ah that seems like it could be good
I remember the talk on Twitter during spoilers and the consensus seemed to be broodscale combo wasn't gonna make any waves. Now look at it beating down grixis affinity the presumptive best deck after MH3
@@Mattatamus yeah I am quite surprised
The idea of this deck looks so cool to me, but looks exhausting to play 😂
@@YoungFire17 it is pretty convoluted to me yeah. I wish I could make it more streamlined
What's a good counter for this deck? even gardens might struggle because of the extreme card draw, the duress and the hexproofs.
@@MarianoGianni1 I'm not even sure!
Thoughts on wirewood herald to tutor for the nightblade or witness faster?
@@aybeesea that does make a lot of sense. Not sure exactly
@kalikaiz have you seen hamuda's most recent list? Running the herald alongside village rites/corrupted conviction and shambling ghast/greedy freebooter. They also tutor up masked vandal and nameless inversion post board where that's relevant.
@@Mattatamus yeah I did! Seems cool
I haven't tested it yet but have you considered Thoughtpicker witch as a win con? It's only 1 black to cast and can deck your opponent. Also snarling Gorehound enables you to surveil the top card of your library endlessly while comboing with lizard and glee so each Gorehound is another copy of your wincon
@@MrFellanor from what I've heard you're too likely to time out on mtgo with it so we chose faster stuff
@@kalikaiz Ah ok, I get it. I only play in paper so didn't consider that aspect, was only talking about the consistency in general. Anyway, great video as always. Keep it man!
@@MrFellanor thank you!
@@MrFellanor Yup I play Thoughtpicker in paper. super super reliable.
Even in the early game of being able to pick what your opponents draws.
But guys… you know you can just use viridian longbow as win con? It also gets through prismatic strands, deals with problematic cards like krark clan shaman and standard bearer AND held stall and remove 1 health fliers like familiar and snacker? You don’t even need to filter mana to play it… if I see anymore thoughtpicker witch suggestions I’m gonna lose it I swear
I plan to build this, but I've been looking at playing Llanowar Elf type cards in my liat to make the deck faster.
@@Martian_Manhunter maybe Sakura tribe elder
Is Nightblade really the only Blood Artist like creature in pauper? I guess I never really grasped that before.
@@xxANBUxx hmm I think there are a few others. Mirkwood bats for example
How about playing Charge Through to get past opponents chumping a bunch of turns in a row? Its also a cantrip in case you need to dig for the combo more.
@@SoopaPop that seems alright. The one I saw was Haunted Cloak
@@kalikaiz ah, yeah cloak could certainly be better, since you can sac it to a variant of Deadly Dispute when you don't need it.
wouldn't you want to play some rancor ? They fit well on eldrazi spawns, and insure you the kill even if oppo has blocking creatures every turn
@@Belith a few people have tried stuff like that yeah. Unsure
Hello from Brasil! Im trying to build a Grull list of this combo, yeah without black(sadistic glee), putting the Nature's Kiss green enchantment in the lizard, a lot of red looting and simian spirit guide maybe
Malevolent rumble is awesome when you pick simian spirit guide and putt molten gatekeeper in grave, and of course
4 manamorphose
4 witness
4faithless looting
in the list to help come back if you test and post grull version i would love it
hmm i don't think that works because it doesn't give it a counter. would have been cool
What a happy coincidence. I was just made golgari gleezard earlier. My build is more midrange though. And my main win condition is thoughtpicker witch.
@@oblobear2093 sounds cool!
Hmmm, sounds like you and my buddy are on the same wavelength
how do we deal with the trenspassers curse post side? :(
@@ZiuGigi in this deck you can beat it by having night blade. On the opponents turn you'll resolve your triggers first.
Sac spawn, put on stack glee trigger and put night blade on top of that
Resolve blade drain, resolve glee, make a spawn, curse trigger on the stack
Respond to curse trigger by doing it again
@@kalikaiz so it works only in the opponent's turn, while during mine the opponent's trigger would resolve first?
@@ZiuGigi that's my understanding yeah
Is it better in golgari or with 3 colors?
@@poldosfamily2490 I'm really not sure tbh. I imagine two colors is better
@@kalikaiz considering i play only in paper it might be stronger with witch
@@poldosfamily2490 passing the turn may be an issue but idk
@1:26 What kind of power?
lmao
I think the Cast Downs were to hit black creatures the Snuff Outs can’t
@@blueredlover1060 I talked to the guy I copied and he said he was too lazy to get snuffs lol
