I remember meeting Jimmy Summerville in Paris at a club, La Luna in the 80s. I was extremely shy in front of him, and he was so nice. He bought me a drink and we danced together. One of the most beautiful days of my life. ...
This song and their song Never Can Say Goodbye were absolutely guaranteed to fill up the dance floor past max capacity in 1986. Impossible not to dance to. Thanks for the calorie burn I just did! 😛💃
School,disco classic fkr me
Still guaranteed to get me dancing - especially after a few drinks!! Handbags in the middle, girls!! 🤣
Well now I don't feel quiet so lonely hearing that other people get the same reaction.
Absolutely! 🕺
100%. So much energy a real floor filler, you can’t help but feel good hearing this song!
The Pianist is our local vicar :) Love this song! Sarah Jane Morris and Jimmy's voices are amazing together!
Im glade you like one of my all time favourite songs takes my back to the 80s dance floors something i miss so much
Always loved the energy in this. Reverend Richard Coles on piano. Star in his own right 💙🎶✌️
I went to school with Richard Coles. Imagine my surprise when about 5 years later I saw him on TV. I knew he played piano but had no idea how well he played it. This was such an iconic song.
Tune!!! My dancing style was formed at this time.
Just a bit o' trivia. The guy playing the piano is Richard Coles. AKA The Reverand Richard Coles-an actual Anglican vicar. He joined the church after his time in the band. He still does stand-up and appears on TV panel shows as a sideline.
Welcome back! You were missed! 💙✌
You'll never forget this song...
This was a HUGE HIT back in '86. A sure dancefloor filler! One of the best dance songs of the entire decade! Pure 80s awesomeness!!!!!!! (Even though it's actually a cover from a 60s song which had already been covered by Thelma Houston in the 70s as a disco song) I absolutely LOVE this song still to this day and can't help but start dancing every time I hear it!
The Reverend Richard Coles smashing it out on the piano there!
Welcome back 👍 the specials AKA Blank expression 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great to have you back
This is a cover of a disco song by Thelma Houston, and was also a Harold Melvin and the blue notes. Great song
Many calories burnt on the dance floor and in the kitchen with this one, love it
This is a cover originally released 1975 by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and covered by Thelma Houston in 1976. The Communards came in a put an 80’s dance club twist on the song.
Jimmy Sommerville has one of the most recognizable countertenor voices on the planet. I've always enjoyed listening to him. "Smalltown Boy," "You Make Me Feel," "Hurts So Good," and "Why" are some of my personal faves. Say what you will about the lyrics and the meanings of a quite a few of his songs, the beat and the musicality is hard to ignore.
Isn't hurts so good done by John Mellencamp?
@@stevetici2668 :) Same title, totally different song.
Richard Cole’s the piano player is now a vicar in the UK and is well known radio broadcaster on the BBC. Tenuously he went to same school as me but left years before I started.
Great music.
"For a friend" from Communards is also great.
So glad you are back, as I worried about you!
I can't help it with this song. I've got to get up and dance. Every single time. If I'm driving in the car my butts moving in the seat.🎶📀😀❤️👍
I am glad everything is good welcome back😊
Happy to see you back 🤗👍🎉
This takes me back👍❤
Great to see you back J, hope you’re well, God bless.
Jayvee is such a soul brother, one of the absolutely most likable guys on all of CZcams!
Glad you're back. What a tune too!
Loved this as a child and still do

I was wondering why I wasn't getting any notifications from you. I was missing you kiddo!!!
Welcome Back, never heard this version but thanks it’s definitely Cool
Nothing but positive energy on tis channel
Yeah.. bring me back to my clubbing days in the 80s.... set the dancefloor on fire
What a great way to come back! This was a popular song on the dance floor in my clubbing days in the 80's. I also really love Thelma Houston's version. Glad your back JoVaughn!
Totally agree with u. I think Thelma Houston did this much better.
@@sewforlife586 Lets not forget the great *original* from Harold Melvin And The Bluenotes.
Sound of my youth.....💚🍀🇮🇪
Looks like a nice place Jay
Also I love this song it’s a classic at this point
Glad you’re back. Missed you like a family friend. Keep listening.
Good to have you back. Hope all is well.
They were on Top of the Pops which was renowned for not letting bands sing live and had to mime so halfway through the song they swapped parts, she sang his lyrics and he sang hers it was so funny
Whe you say: "OK - Oh, Yeah!" then we know it's going to be magnificent!
Good to see you back sir!
You like Spandau Ballet i recall...please react to Through The Barricades...a very meaningful track and just great to listen to.👍👍
Love this, TY 🌟
Welcome back! We missed you!
Glad to see you back, I missed your videos!
Welcome back! Good to see you again.
Peace from SF
Welcome back. Communalism are amazing for sure.
YEEES FINALLY CHECKING OUT THE COMMUNARDS!
This man is such a lovely guy, absolutely love him.
I never realised it was THAT sarah jane morris !!!
she is wonderful and kooky and undervalued IMHO
she was touring on a tribute to John Martyn last i heard and i cant think of a better person to sing his stuff
check out her work with antonio forcione etc ... mental good singer!!
DANCE, DANCE, DANCE!
Welcome back!
Best way to get back on track is with an 80s banger! It’s a cover of an old disco number by Thelma Houston and was a huge hit in 86 after Bronski Beat. You got his name right! He can still hit those notes too.
One of the most energetic and enjoyable songs/videos I have ever heard and seen. And to add to it all, Sarah Jane Morris and her rich contralto voice , wow. One of my favourite songs by Sarah is Billy Paul's "Me and Mrs Jones"
I love Jimmy's voice and the energy he puts into his music, it's so hard for me to sit still listening to this song but its painful to dance or move. Thank you so very much for playing this and I'm so glad it wasn't blocked as watching them dancing is a real treat. God bless you sweetheart, love hugs and peace Mary-Ellen UK
Went to see the Communards live in 1987 UK.. incredible !
Good to see you back x
Please do some Alison Moyet, '' Love Ressurection '' is a great one, she has a beautiful unique voice. ❤
Welcome back! What a great song!
I love this, my favourite is = So cold the night ☺️ I think you'll like that one. I just love his voice.
Welcome back, Jovaughn! 💕
I was a teen when this came out - loved it - I remember dancing to it in clubs - everyone would sing it 😊
proof that some of the tunes from the 80's were actually good :)
Love your new room. 😎
WOW(!)... you were so missed, and now you come back with this beauty! Thanks.
Some gems for you to consider:
O'jays - Love Train
Pat Benatar - We Belong
Band Aid - Do they know it's Christmas
Cocteau Twins - Carolyn's Fingers
The Jam - That's Entertainment
New Order - Regret (which might be on your patreon site, but I would love for you to flip it over to this side).
Love that pure reaction 🙂
This has always been one of my favourite songs...just love this pairing...
This was a MASSIVE hit and I still play it to this day! Never gets old. There's only 1 other song I never stopped playing and that's Moonlight Shadow by Mike Oldfield
Yup!
Two of my absolute favourite songs... I LOVE Moonlight Shadow. I think it's just a perfectly made song.
The 70's and 80's were the Best time to experience Music..and just 💃 Dance!! Anybody else feel the same??
wonderful to have you back
Great song good to have you back 👍
Rev Richard Coles playing the piano. He’s just stopped being a vicar and has embarked on his third main career as a modern day Agatha Christie, writing crime fiction based on the happenings in a local vicarage.
I'd highly recommend The Communards cover of Never Can Say Goodbye. IMO better than the original & Bronski Beats Why & Hit That Perfect Beat!
Great song. Heard it recently sitting in a restaurant that plays a lot of 80s music.
A couple of 80s suggestions for you The Waterboys The Whole Of The Moon, Aztec Camera Somewhere In My Heart and Prefab Sprout The King Of Rock n Roll
Happy to see you and hear you 🙂
I saw him in Paris one day in a place call "Tuileries" I was so stupefied that I could not move...
i hope you will continue your TalkTalk Journey!!
Love this and the Harold Melvin original too. ❤ nice reaction.
Looks like you got new digs! Glad to see you again. The original by Thelma Houston was huge in the 70s, so I was never sure why Communards remade it. Good, but of course I love the original.
The original is by Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes featuring Teddy Pendergrass. both great versions
This is a cover. A great cover
Classic!!!
The streets ….your fit and u know it …..such a good song
We were missing your reactions... Funny how we got used to your regular youtube reaction notifications. ;-)
Glad to see you again man missed your reactions and a great song to do 👍
I love songgggg🔥🔥🔥🔥
What a great track !!! And the ENERGY. My feets are dancing under the desk 😁
I Loved this song and still do ♥️♥️
Great choice for starting again 😁. This song always gives me plenty of energy and makes me wanna dance 🥳. Their two voices are so awesome as a duet!
Hallo Jovaughn, good to have you back! Love your reactions to music I've been listening to for decades. Greetings from Germany!
Arguably the best 'pop' song ever
I miss the 80s so much ! Hasenda yes
aww J - u got new digs ! hope ur loving it - glad to see u again ! - best music guy ever !
Yay!! You’re back! Knowing your love of horns, particularly sax, check out Clarence Clemons “You’ve got a friend in me.” He was the sax player for Springsteen.
The Communards came after Jimmy Somerville left Bronski Beat, I believe. Richard Coles (the guy on the piano) once said they were "trying to take down Margaret Thatcher by recording covers of 70s hits" or something to that effect. And admitted laughingly that that may have been a bit ambitious. 🤣
My favourite of Jimmy's - which he recorded solo imho - is "You make me feel" (another 70s cover). I can NOT listen to that song without dancing. :)
Is my boy back? Yes!
Love this band & BRONSKI BEAT! & YOUR CHANNEL!! Hope all is very well with you!!!🌟😊💜🌺✨🙏
Hit that perfect beat boy, is another awesome song of his! ✨✨✨✨
AWESOME COVER VERSION!!! I loved it! 👍👍👍👍👍
