Without a doubt, one of the best Sketchup tutorial series on the internet. Thanks so much for putting the time into this. How do you deal with warehouse components? I think I've used that ridiculous Macbook before and it made a layer for every piece of the computer. I've now got into the habit of downloading objects on their own, exploding them, running a cleaner plugin, then putting everything on the default layer, then bringing it into my model.

I waiting for the next parts of this serie ;)
Also I curious about render stage. I am sure you are good at rendering too.

A quick question....you seem to be modeling inside your main model "in place". When I tried that in my models, I always end up stuck in walls and other parts of the model. What is your trick for this? Is it the view angle?

Don't ask questions, you won't get an answer.

I don't understand why you start off the coloring with making it red first and then adjust it to black. Why not just make it black or brown first and then adjust from there.

For two reasons: first is if the object has a lot of faces it's easy to see if you've missed one. The second is if you've used black or brown elsewhere in the model, adjusting the color will also adjust the other objects that are black or brown, which I've done by mistake in the past. I don't think I'd ever use a bright red like this in a model, and so I don't need worry about accidentally adjusting another object. Just a personal thing for me though, whatever works for you.
