The Unchained player here. I got to point out that G1, I forgot that I had cut Unchained Soul of Anguish from 2 to 1, then banished my only copy of Anguish with prosperity... reason for Underworld Goddess 😅 the play felt so wrong, but that was my only option in the ED left 😂

even though you can't use almiraj + sunlight wolf into heatsoul (you do need linkuriboh) Almiraj is still a key piece for NS ponix to end on Heatsoul+Arvata with Kirin in hand (Ponix + Arvata 2-card combo), AND it can turn your NS'd Effect Veiler/Droll/D.D. Crow/etc. into a Fire monster to destroy with Arvata/Kirin to trigger Garunix/Ponix. :)
yeah big time blunder on my end, thankfully it didnt affect the game! Yeah im going to grab linkuriboh asap, and the Tribrigade cards make almiraj useful
Great series so far! I think the store credit should be implemented into the weekly budget. G2 vs centurion was just a sack win, that deck doesn’t nothing other than calamity lock and obviously dude is looking for the easy no skill wins lmaooo great job so far and we are all on this journey with ya bro.
Im happy you're enjoying the series! Tbh, i played too poorly in R1 which was the entire reason i was up against centurion, if i did better there, i wouldnt have been in that spot
Nice starting pickups! I like getting singles, not as easy for some people to get trades using sealed products. Feel like this is easier for other ppl trying to get started to follow along. I would like to see the counter for store credit somewhere to see how the deck is doing for your locals but spend it how you want
I agree, some people dont like that im buying singles, but its how a budget player would go about the game, and this way, we can all be on this journey together, instead of relying on whats in a box...
I will add a separate counter for store credit and use that most likely on sealed product :)
Next things I would look into is maybe small world since the main goal is to get to ponix and also crossout designator to combat ash and droll. I think you’ve definitely gone in the right direction so far
Small world is interesting, i find that it may be tough to find the right bridges. Either way, i have a plan for episode 3, and it might not be the most popular 😅
If possible would love to see longer match play thats more raw, love the videos!

If you want to hear a suggestion, the Tri-Brigade engine is an option to utilize the extra deck and can provide power options with Shuraig acting as disruption and as a way to search Ponix
I want as many suggestions as possible! Tri-brigade is a path im looking to go down, but i still have some work to do in terms of getting my extra deck and non-engine ready for whatever engine i add in
Loving the series! Although I'm not sure you can link Almiraj and Sunlight wolf into Heatsoul. It needs two different attributes no?

@@MattOsheaYGOyeah I play with dogmatika engine and I've had to be careful with my links to Heatsoul and I've ended on a maximus in hand with Almiraj and Sunlight wolf on the field. Just chilling
I would say the Storecredit is for Singles as well
If you wanted ways to upgrade engine, playing dogmatika is actually pretty good with this deck and you can keep the engine pretty small. 3 nadir, 1 Maximus, and 1 Fleurdelis for the main deck is all you need and for the extra deck you can just run 1 garura, 1 titaniklad, and 1 tri brigade shuraig. Nadir sends garura to search Maximus and draw a card, Maximus banishes garura to special summon himself, and then you use Maximus effect to send shuraig and titaniklad to grave. Because you banished garura to summon Maximus shuraig let's you search any level 1 winged beast in you deck so you can search ponix off of nadir basically and during the end phase titaniklad activates to add Fleurdelis to hand for the monster negate.
Another idea is you can just run 3 copies of original sinful spoils instead of running 1 with the diabellstar engine. The card will go -1 almost every time but if it resolves it stills special summons ponix from deck. Using it with fire formation tenki gives you a search and then because tenki is a continuous spell you just send tenki to grave to activate original and get ponix for free basically. So you get a search from tenki and special summon ponix from deck and you go neutral in card advantage.
Since your extra deck is still pretty lacking because like you said, you focused more on main deck staples this time around, you could just run a larger dogmatika package putting shaddoll schism in main deck and then run 1 N'tss, 1 apkallone, 1 wendigo, and 1 el shaddoll winda in ED. If you do open with ponix there's no reason to search it off nadir so you can send Apkallone to add Maximus, Apkallone effect in grave to add shaddoll schism and then discard schism, banish Apkallone to summon Maximus, then you use Maximus to send wendigo and titaniklad, wendigo activates in grave to add the schism back, and then you set schism. So on end phase you add Fleurdelis to hand for the negate and on your opponents turn you can use schism to summon winda using the wendigo and titaniklad in grave which gives you a flood gate and schism lets you send a dark monster your opponent controls to grave when winda is summoned because winda is dark. Fire king can easily get rid of winda whenever they want so you just drop it there on your opponents turn and when you turn rolls around you can either get rid of it with naximus by sending garura and N'tss to draw a card and pop your own winda, or you can just get rid of it with fire king island to get a search too.
So off of 1 nadir without using your normal summon you can either search ponix from deck to hand and end on a monster negate with a free draw, or you can end on winda + 2 interruptions. 1 from schism sending a dark monster to grave on resolution and 1 from the monster negate you get from Fleurdelis.
there are so many paths i can go down, and i have a few options im looking into , including the ones you mentioned, and even another mystery.
Im also considering using a small FK engine asa part of another deck entirely but it might be objectively worse xD
@@MattOsheaYGO I just like how many ways this deck can be run rn. And yeah, there is one objectively best way to run it, but if you aren't trying to drop 400 dollars the fact that there's still a bunch of budget alternatives that can work is really nice.
Plus the deck seems to be very future proof right now with the way Konami is adding so much crazy generic fire support in the coming sets so it's nice that budget players can not only make a strong and consistent deck, but one that shows promise for long term investment as well. Im just really hoping populus bonfire and promethean princess don't end up being expensive cards because they can open up a whole new avenue of exploration.

You should def keep the store credit for sealed product only. If you pull a money card you don't need, just add the value of that into your budget like you've sold it.
I think I'll likely do only sealed product with the store credit but I won't add the value to my budget unless I do actually sell it

Using store credit would distort the primise of the challange in my opinion.
1. Its aimed for new players : a huge portion of them will not finish 3-1 at their first locals or even remotely like you in the future.
2. Store credit will be always higher in value on average. (+ not all stores even give the option to get credit)
+ u didnt touch on if "bought" (obviously you didnt cause you already had them) the cards online or at your local store, cause then we have to talk about shipping or the on average higher prices in stores. (also you should mention the condition and rarity of the cards - show a graphic of tcgplayer or whatever you use)
Also its weird you dont get ots packs.
And dropping out of your 2nd local is not a very new player move or something you should incentivise new players to do. (even if you didnt say it explicitly / meant to do that)
I'll try address everything in 1 comment here, our locals gives the option of store credit or the newest set for prizing. I don't feel the need to pick up VASM so it doesn't make sense.
Cards are either being bought from my locals, or from friends at locals willing to help the series, if/when I need to use an online store I'll be showing a screenshot
As for OTS packs, we ran out 🤷♂️
And for dropping, I was going to be playing against a kid under 10, who leaves early into r3 anyways. I'll have at least some footage for all my games against anyone 18+ as they can give consent to be recorded :)

9:53 Unfortunately in game 1 against unchained, you can’t summon heatsoul because of heatsoul’s summon requirement “2+ cyberse monsters with different attributes”, both sunlight and almiraj are fire attribute.

The Sinful Spoils Engine seems like it wont get any cheaper for now, so i will stick to Tri Brigade or Dogmatika, both are much cheaper and also really fun, i didnt play it yet but i orderd some cards and they will arrive after Christmas so im excited to try those out!
Theres also a budget version of the sinful spoils engine but idk how good it actually is

1. I think credit should be added to budget, adds a feel of more realism for players who try to play budget. 2. Definitely go for consistency, think locals proved that.
That's a fair assessment! Im thinking about doing a separate counter but I'll let you all know when episode 3 goes up
I think it's fine to use store credit on cards and not just packs. it's what most people would do with their store credit and whatever it takes to give you a better edge on this challenge!

Currently on vacation and my footage from week 3 got corrupted so im going to do it again! Next episode will be either Jan 13 or 16 since I need time to actually go to locals when I get back

With a challenge like this I do not think dropping because you lost two is a good idea
My last game would have been against a child, i didnt feel comfortable recording a game vs a kid. Ill be showing at least some footage from all of my games assuming they arent against any kids that come to locals

I love your videos and im liking a lot this series, but i'd say 25€ dollars a week aren't actualy under the budget category in the long run. At least to me, and i assure i'm a budget player, i feel like that 100€ (including the structures) is kinda the maximum budget players are willing to spend. Me personaly, i spent 80€, including in the sum total the 3× structures, on my darkworld deck and even tho there is surely room for a few stronger card both in the extra and in the main deck, the biggest problem is the almost nonexistent sidedeck, but staples are still quite a lot expensive.
I agree with that in theory. I considered myself a budget player for a long time. I played Dinos for the first year I was playing Yugioh, because it was budget. Then when dragons went down in price I got those, and instead of playing a new deck every format I kept the same list moving cards around to suit the meta.
It really depends on the person and how they treat being a budget player.
As for the series, I agree, 25$ weekly is a lot. But I don't imagine season 1 being a full year so I wanted to put 25$ to show progress every week

I must say buying singles kinda ruins the series for me. Playing Yu-Gi-Oh properly by Revz is the golden standard for such a series for me.
Packing the cards you want or even trading for them is way more exciting than buying them. Buying singles is just basically waiting for you having the amount of cash saved up to buy the expensive cards. No suspense. Buying singles just offers 0 entertainment.
Playing Yugioh properly is definitely the gold standard, but I can't justify spending the money on sealed product right now. Eventually if/when channel brings in enough for me to afford that, I will.
The challenge itself is meant to show that even with a limited budget you can build a good deck! It's a different type of excitement and some people may like it, and others may not 😊
@@MattOsheaYGO i totally get that and honestly didn't think about financial aspect when writing my comment. And don't get me wrong I enjoyed both episodes so far and plan on keeping up. Just because one aspect adds up doesn't mean I don't enjoy the series or concept in general.
Out of curiosity. If you spend the same 25 bucks on sealed products that you would spend on singles you'd still spend 25 bucks. Is your logic that you can sell the singles better after the series is done? Because 25 bucks spend is 25 bucks spend either way.
@@kemor6861 I have money put aside for this series, I don't mind spending it on cards that are actually useful. But if I'm going to spend 25$ on cards that end up in my bulk during and at the end of the series it ends up being a waste of money for the time being
