Here we go folks, today commences the battle for the crown of England! Will Geowizard or the Fieldhouses be the first to cross the country in a Straight Line?
This was our most action packed mission to date so be sure to subscribe to follow the adventure :) - Zábava
Best rivalry on CZcams right now
Definitely!
Glad to see Max following the REAL CZcams drama
Max watches straight line content?!
Max u should join geowizard and go two on two

Geowizard: "I had to divert 132 meters off the line to avoid being in within eyeshot of a farmhouse."
These guys: [walk through somebody's front gate]
Lads, as someone who grew up on a farm (in Ireland), here's a tip; if they are friendly then get their names. If you run into one who's a bit iffy, then tell them.. 'we were just talking to 'John Smith' and were talking to him for a while'. It relaxes people a bit. Also try to get 'crossing England in a Straight Line', or some such printed on the front of the hoodies, it looks a bit more 'official', and again relaxes people.
If something looks seriously dodge in advance, then it would help to knock on their door when doing the recee, though this may of course backfire.
Great content all the same, loves the IoM trip as well. Best of luck with future projects.
Really good ideas them
Excellent advice
If all else fails try dressing as a sheep.
So you knock and they say no they'll be even more pissed when they try it
^This, but if you're knocking on a house, on the line during the Recce, take a few bottles of whisky!"^
One suddenly really appreciates Geowizard doing these alone, without any cars previously.
he never did it without any support crew (except possibly wales 1). he isnt a fool.
@@Nooticushe had stashes but that was it. He did do them alone, camping on the lines and not using inflatables but swimming.
@@Nooticus noot noot!
@@ab8jeh He had a Kayak in Norway, has stashes, and obviously help from Verity and others. Yes, I enjoy Tom's content a tad bit more as well (probably because he's a bit closer to me, age wise), but let's not forget that he does have outside help as well.
@@wohlhabendermanager Indeed, wasn't that an inflatable one that was stashed. It feels a bit different to just being handed one. Ed Pratt is probably the most dedicated in terms of carrying the blow up boat with him!
The Fieldhouse brothers are precisely the villains that the Geowizard universe needed. Good work lads
The FIeldhouses are straight out of a YT prank video.
Hahaha the man in the digger was my dad that’s amazing he said about you jumping the drains 😂😂
Your dad's a legend! not angry at all, just confused and entertained
He's fantastic
Tell your dad he's an awesome person!
Geo wizard: I'm preparing, I'm taking no chances, I'm having a baby
Archie: let's just do it then, eh?
geowizard: so this is all about the past, the current situation, my life and how important and difficult this may be
archie: so we´re straight lining england (already walking)
Except the support crew every 100 meters ;)
Almost running out of batteries after mocking GeoWizard for all this time.. epic!
Wait till they get attacked by some sheep
It's the sort of irony you'd see in Greek tragedies.
Oh, how the posh and proud has fallen...
Wildly different strategies 😂
Geowizard:
Camo clothing
Hides in bushes at any farmer sighting
Plans and strategises for months
Adam and Archie:
Wears suspicious looking hoodies
Marches straight towards farmers
Just get going strategy
Love the missions, good luck to you guys!!
I would like to add "Fly their drone right by the farm they're about to enter" to Adam and Archies List
@@ikaro555 And the obligatory McDonalds...
I love Tom but this is kinda the mentality you need to do gnarlier straight lines. Geowizard is the godfather but people who are bolder and just generally give less f*ks will be way more successful as these missions get longer and more challenging
@@seankent7282 Until someone pushes it too far, the whole concept gets soured and no more fun for anyone. This is the balance a lot of these things are fighting in.

For clarification, we knew Geowizard would have been on day 4 based on his start date, but had no idea how it was going or if he was actually succeeding or not.
Not bad
Ignore the mongs in the comments, you’re making great content and I’m sure geowizard is proud that he inspired you lot to do it too
both of your videos going out on similar times is actually so amazing, we don't know if he made it either yet so this is really feeling like a race! hope both geowizard and you two make it!
Ha! I brought this exact point in a couple of comments. Fun watching both adventures!
You could try to get permission from the land owners in advance but I know how stubborn and angry some folk get when you are on "their" land. It's the Earth mate, no one owns it. Try telling that to someone who paid good money for the land lol.
Geowizard: oh no, a farmer! I'd better hide out in this bush for 14 minutes
Archie and adam: 🚶🚶🤠 Yeehaw partner!
weird seeing you here after just hopping off one of your games lmao, its one of my favorites btw man good job on it
Geowizard when he sees a down tree: O.O

Too true, these guys are toff central. F this channel.
they had to "carry something called a rucksack..."
it's going to be a close one between you and Tom.
born too late to discover the world, born too soon to discover the solar system, born just in time to witness the birth of the straight line mission.
Space discovery is very much happening now, you just seem to have the wrong idea of how it would happen in the future.
@@Groblinmode kk. Let me know when tickets to mars become available.
@@Groblinmode Space discovery is happening yes just not in a capacity where anyone with interest can do so of their own volition like the explorers of yesteryear. We've barely scratched the surface of the final frontier.
@@DazHotep6EQUJ5 but have you considered that we are beyond that whole kind of exploration, long range sensors and unmanned spacecrafts will do all the space exploration to come.

The contrast between Tom's series and your is awesome it perfectly sums up your friendly rivalry
Love these CZcams documentaries
Great pick-me-up between depressing docs from PBS Frontline and other things.
This is a great British countryside documentary.
Y'all and GeoWizard might be in friendly, straight-lining competition with each other, but the real winners of this rivalry are us viewers who get double the amount of epic, missioning content 😌
That friendly farmer was awesome :)
Edit: TWO FRIENDLY FARMERS!!
I really don't get that angry farmer meme, I was often exploring on farm land as a young lad, they never cared, as long as you respected animals and properties and didn;t act shady.
Of course I would not crash over hedges, because I would not be on a straight line mission, I would just enter by the normal fences, where they drive their tractors. But we also often jumped over water ditches, that was part of the fun.
What I really like about your approach to this, is how much respect you give to Tom. You could just do a sneaky one or tell him nothing about it, just so you could be first. But you're so sportsmanlike and fair about it, I love it. Makes your videos way better imo
Only heard about you guys from GeoWizard but very much enjoyed this. The additional angles, drone shots etc make up for the lack of 8-bit music.
Came here straight from GeoWizard's first video! Looking forward to seeing who the winner is!
It's funny seeing how cautious tom is of farmers and then seeing these guys go past farmhouse after farmhouse lol
Great stuff lads. I appreciate yours and Tom's style equally I must say, Tom is more of a storyteller and draws us deep into the mission whereas you just bash on, chat to all the farmers you can possibly find and generally don't give too much of a shit 😂
youth lol
Second dude in the Audi was very chill. "You didn't get permission" - "Yeah sorry" - "All right". Nice. :)
The final UK straight line mission yet to be completed is actually northern Ireland.
With an unavoidable Lough right in the center of it, it would make for the hardest straight line mission in the UK.
watchout for yon farmers too, and slurry pits like the nile
If you walk from the Northernmost point of County Monaghan northwards to the Sea, it's only around 40 miles, and doesn't pass through major settlements. You'd just have to contend with the Sperrins mountains.
It's actually a spoiler. They know that Ireland will be united
@@B3Band your just wishing for unnecessary bloodshed with a dream that wouldn't end well for either side which in my opinion is just foolish.

That flashback at 16:10 💀
Guys, your videos are getting extremely entertaining (in a very good way)!
The farmer at 10:40 is such a legend!
Had to turn this off a month ago to avoid any GeoWizard spoilers, glad I waited…
Great stuff though and looking forward to the next ones, keep it up 👍
You had me at "inaudible northern spiel".
Hey guys, I was hoping episode 2 would be published right now. As Geowizard posted his episode 2. Can't wait to see how your adventure continues.
Subscribed the first time Geowizard mentioned you guys, i have not regreted it. Loved this video as well. :)
I love how you guys and Tom have an epic rivalry while also being best friends
10:47 his Northern Peasant instincts kicked in as soon as he heard your accents. completely disarmed. (i can say this because i'm a northern peasant)
19:20 and again haha
9:16 Cool to see a shout-out to the support crew. And a cameo for Damien, too. Good sport!
The final boss of this challenge is America
Disagree, it would be Russia, Antarctica, or Canada, assuming you're going ocean-to-ocean.
@@pex3I dunno, whilst those may be longer or more physically demanding, the chances of crossing the USA in a straight line without getting shot must be pretty low.
Chile north to south would be interesting
You would probably be shot as soon as you walked over someone else's land. UK very easy going country with a refreshing absence of handguns.
@@pex3 Lets be honest all of these places and America are impossible.
geowizard: oh my i must hide from this famer and wai until hes gone to cross his land the fieldhouses: theres a famer hello how are you?
Can tell Tom is a huge inspiration, the commentary even has Tom's tone haha, it just needed the music
These videos have a more high-energy, characteristically "modern" or "social media" feel to them than Geowizard's videos. I appreciate the latter style much more, but this video is fun none the less.
That hedge climbing edit on the throwback was gold.
YES BOYS!! Love your content, it's always refreshing to see a completely different take on straight line missions as opposed to GeoWizard. Had no idea he was doing his own England line too. Exciting.
This is a bit like Scott and Amundsen with angry farmers and loads of bacon butties.
Geowizard brought me here. Nice one lads, thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Subbed. Carry on !
This is awesome. And I'm sure a lot of appreciate all the credit you give to GeoWizard, I know I do. Great video

I got a reflexive inclination towards being bizarrely defensive of Geowizard when I heard you guys were doing this but proper shoutings out really smoothen out the defensiveness. Best of luck to you.
I agree. On the same day of release too, could have left it a week potentially?
seriously geowizard doesnt own the idea
@@expectationlost Actually the UN declared Geowizard the sole owner but thanks for joining the conversation.
They literally know him from doing other videos 😅
Why would you get defensive over them doing this at all?
Great stuff, and another well timed video matching GeoW for your ascent to CZcams stardom.
I have half an idea of what its like having done a 2-day, 26km straight line mission across Forest of Bowland AoNB last October.
Good to see you getting good farmer interactions!
Ah yes a classic CZcams documentary.
What a fantastic video, enjoyed every minute!
I love this format, it is very dynamic.
Loving the adventure so far guys. Will be watching till the end. May the best men win!
Here to find out if you come across Geowizard’s iphone 😅
Great video! Interesting to see the competitor's perspective posted on the same day, but a little spoiler about "Geowizard is on the 4th day" was unnesessary with how well he handles intrigue in his videos (this implied he has at least 4 days of travel). Please, no more spoilers, and it will be interesting to see your line too
Nah, geowizard started Sunday and they started Thursday. Thats all we get for sure from their respective info.
@@Leffe192you’re missing the point. We now know that geowizard at least makes it to day 4, so everything that happens in days 2 and 3 when he releases them are now a little less tense.
@@Oldlard How would they know he's on day 4? Think they meant 'possibly'
@@Sam-go3mb they pretty clearly said he was onto his 4th day, so it did ruin the doubt he built up at the end of his video. I was very frustrated they said that too. Love both their styles in general tho.
@@Oldlard No. My interpretation of what they said was "geowizard started four days ago", yours seems to be "geowizard told us a couple of hours ago, mid run, that he is still in it".
Running out of batteries for the GPS ... the irony.
But seriously, another great achievement, guys.
A compass might be nice for back up... /D Good luck, lads! Just watched episode 1 on Geowizard's channel, too!
Time for video 2.
no batteries, no part 2. 😂
Lads, you forgot Norway where Tom nearly died. Madness, but fuckin' A* for dedication.
Edit:
How you lads fuel yourselves on Maccies is beyond me. 🤣
Classic young-man bravery and ignorance of biting off more than you should really do - but making it anyway! 20 miles on that terrain without even looking tired at the end. Another reminder that I am indeed not young any more. Cool vid!
1:49 I love the "dead space" additions, you should really gift him a better camera for (hopefully) successfully crossing england^^
impressive that both lines are this extremely close together! your line man did his job properly! looks like Geowizard took a line that at the very least intersects yours and is extremely close to it!
So you have a "battery boy" on the support crew and he didn't remember his job title, lolololololol.
The good old well spoken “hello there” to that farmer worked well and the word documentary makes it sound very approved 😂
36km in one day is super impressive but not completely unheard of. Ally did a similar distance at the end of his Scotland mission - maybe slightly less. Urban missions regularly hit 50km+ but dunno if they should count - obviously they're not as difficult...
Holy shoooop! They're back with something even more insane!

Love the different spin you put on these missions. I do agree you make full use of your support crew though 🤣 then again, Tom needs some ammo to counter your banter.
Tom is no slouch, but I'm not sure if most people realise how fit the Fieldhouse brothers are. Archie's Strava is impressive.
Yep 30-odd kilometres of that in a day is impressive.
I love this series so much
Well lads. You've managed it. You've managed to get this grizzly northerner and GeoWizard both to like you (despite the accents which aren't your choice like) and enjoy your videos. So even if you make it or not, well played on that!
''which aren't your choice like'' is that meant to be English?
@@tomwilliams191 your English must be terrible, you can barely recognise it
Following on the OS map, I was shouting Public Footpath at the screen at Metal Bridge.
When there was a gap in the M6 and it was an A road, we would cross to get to a transport caff a little to the south on the way to climbing weekends. Utterly terrifying, worse than any dodgy axe placements later in the weekend.

You have tackled all but one remaining challenge. Northern Ireland, the final jewel in you UK crown of straightline challenges!
You should get ahead of Geowizard next time and do a straight line challenge across Canada, now that would be a real challenge! You definitely would have a Patreon account and sponsors for that.... remember what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! 😁👍
England: 50/50 chance of getting caught by a farmer.
Canada: 50/50 chance of getting eaten by a bear.
yeah... they would die. It's really really impossible. Even bits which seem relatively easier than the mountains, like Northern Ontario, are impassable on a straight line.
