I would definitely like to see something like this from Yamaha. They bettered them in price from the customs to the Serie 3 and 2, and if they do a supreme-like horn with a lower price well I think it could be the undisputedly better option. I agree for sure with the case thing.
I was fortunate enough to try my lesson teachers supreme... I'm not a fan of the angled side keys. But you are right the tuning is so good! It honestly feels really weird not having to adjust pitches like C# to be in tune.
Nice review. Yes C# is an issue, well so is D as well, so why don't other manufacturers add a correction tone hole? Is it because its patented, or because of the drawback of have to have the octave pressed down all the way for high C#? I don't know rational was behind the decision to have the side keys sloping down. Also, maybe Selmer could of added height adjustments on the palms key(s) like Jupiter does. Thanks for not playing some fast jazzy run to show off that you can move their fingers fast just like 99% of others do. This tells nothing about intonation and tone and other aspects... has no value whatsoever. And thanks for covering things that no other reviewer has.
I’ve had Selmer Super Action 80, II, III, Ref 54 , Euro MK VI with silver keys . . . . All gone ! The Supreme is nice but for $7-8,000 … I’ll stay with my Yanagisawa AWO2 UL . Good luck 🍀
@@op14435 I have had a Serie I,II,and III and although I love that Selmer core sound , I don’t like the resistance of Selmer’s . I think the AWO2 build quality is better than Selmer . Selmer Supreme is $6,000 USD and higher which is almost double what I paid for my AWO2 UL . I use a Johannes Gerber NY Bros. #6 hard rubber mpc and #2 Rigotti Gold reeds with an original Marc Jean ligature . I also have a SWO2 UL and a TWO2 UL . Cheers
@Soup ! i really dont know. With vandoren reeds my aw02 didnt project as well then when i changed to Rico Reeds, it projected much better, so im not sure what to do. What made you switch to aw02 vs the series?
Personally, I don’t find the engraving attractive at all. It’s obviously done by machine and isn’t artistic IMHO. The packaging presentation us very nice. Price? I just don’t ever see myself paying $8,000’for an alto sax ever. My King Super 20 is a better horn than I am a player. For a serious classical player the Supreme could be the best ever.

This one on vídeo is the lacquered or gold plated ? There is a difference on sound prodution betwen this two ? Thanks
Thanks for the in-depth review. I have yet to even see one of these in the flesh, so I am relegated to watching online!
Wow it’s really fantastic.
Hope I have enough money to get one
The sloping side keys are weird my SA80 11 soprano has them . The YAS 62 with a slight step outwards feels more right for me .

Which one do you prefer: yamaha 875ex or this supreme? Seems like yamaha is brighter no?
I also have a suprème. I really love this sax. I recommend the Claude Delangle mouthpiece for classic music. Much better than the concept. Grtz
Any regrets buying it? Any idea how it compares to yamaha 875ex?

You must be mistaking this for the supreme ultra deluxe

Hows aw02? What reed do you use? I recently bought it but was thinking to get supreme instead.
