      Hi. These beetles, Lucanus cervus, are widespread in Europe. See this page, its spreading is illustrated with green color: www.stagbeetlemonitoring.org/other-lucanus-species-in-europe/
      In my country, Czech Republic, it is best to look for them in May, June, July or August. They are most active at night, but you can often find them on sunny days climbing oak trees where they look for resin to feed on.
