  • Hello people! It was a challenge to plan and ride this SSD Chronicles of Youth Competition routine. The challenge of having at least half of the routine contain asymmetry and avoid outside track/midlines was tough, but we did it. We are very proud of our result and had a lot of fun! We hope you like it as much as we do.

The different colors of the clothing are meant to highlight the moments/characters.
The black horse represents the hand of the clock, which, by running counterclockwise, gradually brings forth the other horses and triggers a journey into the past. Childhood memories of moments are brought back to life.
The journey starts with the oldest of the four childhood films, Barbie Rapunzel. Trapped in her tower, Rapunzel lets down her hair. Her quote reveals her deepest desire, which is to be free. However, it is not exactly easy, as she is guarded by an evil dragon. Fortunately, he eventually turns to the good side and helps her. The rider who rides to X symbolizes Rapunzel, still imprisoned but ultimately able to free herself. The two riders circling below X represent the two dragons, father and daughter, reunited. The rider as Rapunzel rides away from X and becomes part of the community of people she had been hidden from for so long.
Next, we jump eight years forward and land in 2010. Rapunzel from the Disney film reveals her greatest dream: to see the lanterns in the night sky at least once in her life. Here, not the complete storyline of the film is shown, but a moment. The riders perform the dance from the song "Kingdom Dance." Just before they change the circle, three pairs form. Two riders do not have a romantic partner. They represent Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, who are separated by the dance. In the new circle, also called the turn of the dance, they finally meet in the middle. The circle shrinks, symbolizing the growing bond between the two. Thus, not only the dance between them is shown, but also the development of their relationship.
Next, there is a direct transition to the next film, Rio.
The quote predicts exactly what happens next. The three riders opening the circle each represent a wing of a bird. They are the birds of Rio and dance to the music, while Blue and Jewel distance themselves at first. However, the music and the dancing birds attract them, so they decide to join and dance around X. Each bird makes way for them one by one until the finale, when Blue throws Jewel into the air. This is also the moment when they fall in love with each other.
We travel further to the year 2013. The words spoken by the old man, Mr. Kaan, and the teacher of the red-haired girl Mika show what will happen in this memory. Ostwind/Stormwind, the wild, black stallion that no one can tame, runs wildly and uncontrollably until he sees Mika. Now he is completely changed. He follows her and voluntarily adapts to her movements. Mr. Kaan's words come true. More and more horses join and adapt to the movements. This shows Mika's bond with Ostwind. Although the other horses are Ostwind's family, his origin, he does not stray from following Mika. Not even when new wild horses appear and disappear again. In the end, Ostwind and Mika disappear together and reappear just before the outro. This time, Mika is riding on Ostwind's back. They have made it, despite the many obstacles. Immediately afterward, it returns to the present, symbolized by the rider now running clockwise.
