BJP warns Congress over alleged doctored video of HM Shah, Madhavi Latha rains fire on Rahul Gandhi

As phase-3 of Lok Sabha polls 2024 nears, HM Amit Shah’s doctored video is making rounds on social media. In fake video, HM Shah was purportedly seen advocating for abolition of reservation quotas for SCs, STs, and OBCs. However, BJP stated that the video had been deliberately doctored to tarnish the image of Amit Shah. MHA filed a complaint with Delhi Police seeking action against those responsible for creating fake video. Delhi Police on April 28 registered a case over the video circulating on social media platforms that sparked controversy. Assam Police made first arrest on April 29 as it apprehended Congress worker Reetom Singh in connection with case. Delhi Police's IFSO unit (Cyber Unit) summoned Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for allegedly posting fake video on X. The Congress leader has been asked to appear before DP’s IFSO unit on May 1 with his mobile phone. After the summon to the Telangana CM, BJP’s Madhavi Latha said that ‘BJP is going to put a full stop to the game’. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi had alleged that HM Amit Shah will abolish reservation if BJP-led NDA returns to power. Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s latest speech in PM’s Bhind on April 30, BJP’s Madhavi Latha accused him of giving hate speeches. The IFSO unit of DP has also issued summons to 16 individuals across 7-8 states in connection with circulation of 'doctored' video. Notably, top BJP leaders including PM Modi have also been launching sharp attacks on Congress since the circulation of the video. However, Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge refuted all the allegations saying “we never did this…”.
