She runs away in a panic. This is the meaning of the lyrics: "I've been drowning in sorry, chasing tomorrow running away". In the hours before the song starts, she vows to take down the violent boyfriend of her (only) friend. She murders him but gets killed in the process. At the beginning of the song, Sinead is lying dead in the morgue. The first half of the song is actually sung by a medium called Mother Maiden who has the means to stop people passing over to the other side. She knows Sinead's story and pitties her. She has basically told Sinead that as a result of her crimes, she will go to hell, but if she joins her team fighting evils then upon dying a second time, her soul may be redeemed enough to go to heaven. The first half is about Mother Maiden seeing Sinead is angry, loveless and lost and offers the chance to turn it around (I'm crossing the borders, sealing her fate, but I'm not afraid.......
