Just a reminder that getting rid of things and replacing them with zero waste/plastic free things is NOT zero waste… Use up or wear out your things, then recycle the packaging if possible and THEN replace with a zero/low waste alternative…. It will take longer to get those beautiful IG-worthy pictures but you will get there in the end and not waste so much in the process.

I started watching restocking compilations a while ago and I wondered why they made me feel so anxious. Yes, they were aesthetically pleasing and the asmr sounds were nice, but I felt so uncomfortable. I just realised why. It was due to the HUGE amounts of single use plastics! Especially in those mini fridge videos, as most snack packs cannot be recycled and seeing the quick short clips really highlighted the sheer amount of waste that will definitely go to landfill. I'm SO HAPPY to find zero waste videos, and I also like how realistic it is. Not everyone can afford to change in one go, and it's great to do what you can when you can. :-)

My struggle is finding places within the US (east coast specifically) that sells seasoning and spices that I can refill on my own rather than buying a whole new bottle

I was at sprouts, and you can get bulk, however, they are in jars, so you need too bring small containers, and make you leave some for other customers. Its not like the coffee bean dispenser
