Poor Jay seems like he got lost and ended up in a "Ladies' Club" and he's just gobsmacked while Amber is transforming into queen of the dance floor!
You two are the absolute best! 😆💞
Amber was feeling it and it was great
It was big in the men only clubs too ;O)
@@annother3350 Why not just say it? It was a big hit at the gay clubs.
@@larrygrebler5054 It was in the same vein as the OP saying 'ladies club'.
@@annother3350 Sorry, sometimes these things go over this old man's head.
Probably THE most iconic song in all of the gay nightclubs everywhere. It's also extremely popular for male bulesque shows and male stripper events. Martha Wash is a legend.
I think I will survive is the most iconic but it's close, so I guess it'll be preference
Yes, I will survive was #1 and raining men 2nd. I was there clubbing at straight and gay club friends at all the clubs. Rock/Disco and Gay.
I thought it was Divine's "Native Love"? czcams.com/video/sNgNgPmpmvY/video.html
My gay son agrees with you 🌈
@@Cissy777 Who does he agree with Vicki?
Fun fact: The songwriters Paul Jabara and Paul Shaffer originally wrote this for Donna Summer, but she turned it down. Then they offered it to Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand and Cher, who all turned it down. I'm glad they did because The Weather Girls OWN this song!
Put this on in any nightclub and every generation will get on the dance floor- it’s that iconic!!!! 😂
You guys are hysterical with this song!! This was the anthem for me and all my single friends in the 80's. We sang it out loud at the clubs and we changed one line to "short, fat, bald and cheap", LOL!! We met quite the characters back in the day. The 3 of us finally all got married in our 30's and we had this song play at each wedding and got out there to rock the dance floor!!
That is cool in SO MANY ways.
What about The Men All Pause by Klymaxx?
@@Wordsmyth8 that would be awesome 👌
I tuned in just to see Jay's reaction; because I knew Amber was going to turn up to it. So funny.
Yep, similar story on the other side of the pond! And don't we just love R&S family ❤ ♥ 💙
I’m 61 years old now. But back when I was in my 20’s this was so much fun to dance to in the 80’s. The 80’s had great music!
This song would jam the dance floor for sure.
61 here too, hitting the Disco was such an experience. So many great tunes. Rob and Amber are driving the bus down my memory lane.
65 myself and I remember hitting the clubs with this playing.
80's music is where it's at
I loved the music diversity in the 80s music charts. There were so many "out there' great songs..
As a gay guy from the 80's I had the pleasure of seeing them in person multiple times. They were the best and sounded just as good live, if not better, as they did on the record. Loved them and their early support for the gay community!
Amber, you have NEVER made me laugh harder than you did in this reaction video. Oh. My. Dog. You were *feeling* this song, girl! Love it!!!
The night I came out as gay to my older brother, 5 minutes before I made 'the announcement' he said "Remember how you always liked that song 'its raining men'?? That was weird, huh?" Then I dropped the bomb. Brother was cool as hell and said 'I don't care, your my brother'. That was 30 years ago. We still are as close as ever. And he ADORES my husband, who has been with me for 30 years (17 of them married). This brought such joy and good memories back. And what a great song for Pride month. You all bring such joy. Thanks for the smiles all year long.
That's beautiful, Ron.
Funny how things happen like that congrats on being together so longe and your brother sounds like a cool cat...
❤❤❤❤
Cool story love it
Great story, Ron. I remember this being a regular when I was going to clubs back in the day!
I'm absolutely rolling in the floor at J's reaction to A's reaction of having so much fun with it. That's exactly what the song was meant for, women to have fun!!!
Amber: 😁🥰💃💃
Jay: 😳😳😳
@Catholic Firefighter eww
Me too it's raining men amen
Correction, it's meant for EVERYONE to have fun.
❤😁❤
I LOVE this!!! And I find it funny Men sing about womens body parts all the time but some get offended by this song 😂😂😂😂😂 LOVED THIS REACTION
I freaking love Amber's reaction. She is having so much fun. That's what music is about. You go girl!!
Amber, would LOVE to see you in a club if this song started playing.... you would OWN the dance floor! Your reaction when the chorus first started.... PERFECT!
100% agree in the clubs when this came on the women took over the dance floor ... look out men the cougars were out there. Look up cougars didn't just mean an animal
Amber just cannot sit still!!! 😂
Indeed!
I bet she can cut a rug.🔥🔥🔥
😃👍😂❣️❣️❣️
Amber, I have never seen you have so much fun. Loved the song. Amazing.
she was having such a good time!!! it was awesome to see!!
U
Amber, this is how I act every time I hear this…..so happy you got to experience this song 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
This is such a fun song & Ambers reaction was infectious!! I must have been about 10 years old when this came out and me and my little girlfriends used to dance & sing this at the top of our lungs, looking back my poor mom 🤣🤣
I'm a guy, full straight and damn I love that song so much, each time I hear it I have to dance, and those voices and arrangments are awesome.
Of course as a french, in the 80's I couldn't understand the words so we were just concentrated on the music, and it was a big hit and still nowadays one of those song when you play it, everyone is dancing
👏👏👏
Me too, why not? :-)
I don’t know who I’m laughing more at…Jay or Amber…I’ve watched five times and I’m hysterical. Go Amber, rocking this 66 year olds momma’s heart. On the serious side, love you two together, your love touches my spirit.
Absolutely, I know you posted a year ago, I was thinking the same!
Old hippie......truly priceless. Cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing, so much fun!
Amber’s reaction makes my gay heart so happy! The Weather Girls was so impactful to plus size women. And it was an anthem for the LGBT community! I’m so happy that you did this!
Love her so much! "Woman" emblazoned across her chest :) All of their gay followers were on their feet when this came on.
Back in the 80's this song was huge in gay dance clubs. It was also in the movies Bridget Jones's Diary, Magic Mike, Scary Movie, Easy Money and Vampires Suck as well as an episode of Friends.
@@carlaharrington5120 🤣
@@carlaharrington5120 chippendales lol
Yup... Big guy club song back in the 80's. Brings back super fun memories. 😄
Gay not guy
In Living Color used it as the theme for their 'Men on...' series.
This is Exactly Why I ❤ watching you guys! Amber’s reaction & literally dancing out of her seat…Priceless!!! Love watching Y’all! ♥️♥️
I am a straight guy that loves women in every shape size em color but ... I loved this song and sung out loud several times in that good old days.
No shame at all, fun is fun anywhere.
Ask any DJ from the 80s: if the energy drops and you want the girls on the dance floor, this is the song! Totally campy, totally 80s !
And the outfits that the women in the office were wearing! So completely 80's. I dressed in similar clothes at this time, and I sometimes wore my hair in a side ponytail, just above the ear, and held with a scrunchie. I remember going to a small live music venue that my friends and I frequented. I was wearing a pink tee-shirt dress, matching pink fishnets, and pink high heels. God that was a fun night, lol!
It's a great tune, and quite possibly the #1 song of all time for drag shows (and the LGBTQ community) worldwide. The lead vocalist is the amazing Martha Wash, and the other vocalist is the late, great Izora Armstead. Martha also did the vocals for "Gonna Make You Sweat" by C&C Music Factory (even though they used a different woman in the video). She's one of the biggest unsung heroes in music history. The Weather Girls had a few others hits under their previous name, Two Tons O' Fun - "Dance (DIsco Heat)" and "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)".
Yes, I love this song and all the others you mentioned and perfect in honor of pride month, June.
Isn't she the singer that they used for Black Box too?
@@hazelbc973 That's right!! Let me add Black Box's "Everybody Everybody" to the request list!!
This song and We are Family are the top plays in all drag shows and clubs!!!! Awesome 😎😎😎
The last two songs you mentioned were by Sylvester, and they were his background singers called "Two Tons O' Fun." They sang with Sylvester for years.
Martha wash sang the vocals for C and C music factory. They wouldn't credit her because she was plus sized. She also sang on diamond's and pearls for prince. They used a small woman in his video too. She sued them for her credit and I believe she won both cases.
Love LOVE Ambers reaction, this song is a fabulously ridiculous and essential part of all playlists…never fails to get the crowd going and leaves you laughing and loving life 🤩…best keep an eye on that weather forecast 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Martha Wash the lead vocalist is a powerhouse!
She did work with C+C Music Factory, Black Box. Unfortunately she wasn't in those videos because of her size and there were "smaller" used to lip sync her part.
She can SANG!
Yep , C + C caught some backlash for that. Enough people knew Martha Wash's voice , and knew what was up.
Shout out for Martha Wash!!!!! The biggest voice I have ever been next too! She is freakin awesome!
@@adgato75 So did Black Box.
I'm in Australia and remember hearing this when the song came out .Paul S wrote it because they always got replaced in other bands Videos by thinner females.I was in my 20s and I didn't really care how they looked.
Her career would be totally different in today's climate. Look at Lizzo. Her size hasn't hurt her career. A welcome change.
AMBER!!!! This has to be the BEST reaction I ever seen coming from you. Been watching you guys about the time Rob first came on, and in all those times, you put the BIGGEST smile on me and my wife faces. LOVE you guys.
The Weather Girls were originally called “Two Tons O' Fun” but changed it when they went into the commercial market with “It’s raining men”.
This song was HUGE when it came out. People didn't know what was going on, but everyone had a smile and jumped out of their seats to dance!
Martha Wash is an AMAZING singer and a wonderful person. Back in the 90's she was headlining at a popular club for New Year's Eve and staying in a hotel that I worked at. She asked me if I had plans for the night and when I told her I had planned on seeing her at the club but it was sold out, she got me and three friends in as her guests. So nice and such a GREAT performer!
Doesn't surprise me. She is wonderful. And so fan friendly
C+C music factory is where you heard her voice before. Ms. Martha Wash sang female lead on their first album, without getting the credit for it.
"Everybody Dance Now!" .... That was her .... Not the Girl Lip Syncing !
Also the Black Box album, Everybody Everybody, I Don't Know Anybody Else, Strike It Up, Ride on Time, etc.
I keep this one on my Favourites list because it never fails to make me smile. Not sure which I like better: Amber's reaction to the video, or Jay's reaction to Amber's reaction!
I have too. Same place same reason!
I keep coming back to this. SO glorious - Amber having the time of her life and Jay's bemusement - so funny. Bless you both x
You guys are the cutest couple EVER. "you feeling this raining men a little too hard." I fucking LOVE you guys.. You are people I'd be friends with in real life.. love your energy and humor.
Amber sure as heck _was_ feeling it, I bet her seat was, too! 😂
Everyone was singing this. Most women love this sing. Gets us all excited. 😂😍 Don't think Jay's witnessed such raw female power before. 🤣 This song is powerful.
@@catholicfirefighter
I'll bet women sure can relate to this song! Maybe they wouldn't be surprised it was written by a gay man.
I found it really surprising to hear it was written by men. Okay, written by a gay man makes sense now. Thanks for the info.@@TooSkinnyKenny
The look on his face is priceless 🤣
Amber!!! YOU!! Made this reaction so great. Let yourself feel the music. Don't hold yourself back. FEEL IT! And let loose. It feels great.
This was such a fun song! We all need a little fun and crazy in these trying times we are going through. Y'all made this old country gal smile
The Weather Girls are barking up the wrong tree with those dancers lol
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
🤣🤣🤣
They should have specified!
Ah, that's all part of the fun of it
They are two of the best women and divas we were ever gifted with and this song has been in movies, tv shows, and commercials since it’s release. This was at the beginning of the male strip club incarnations of the late 70’s. This is the big hit of that era. I can remember this playing in every aerobics class too! 😆
Oh my! I was smiling ear-to-ear during this whole reaction. Dang, girl, you were in it!
They started out as "Two Tons of Fun" then changed their name to The Weather Girls...this song was actually written by Paul Shaffer who used to be the Band Leader on the David Letterman Show. Martha Wash was one of the 2 ladies singing. She went on to have a great solo career as she also sang lead vocals in a group called Black Box ..would love to hear you react to Black Box. She also sang vocals in C&C Music Factory....great songs too.
I really have to start seeing what comments have already been made before I start commenting. In my overlong comment I also mentioned Black Box and C&C Music Factory. 😅
Martha Wash has an awesome voice!
Paul also offered to Donna Summer, Diana Ross, Cher and even Barbara Streisand first but they all turned it down
@@StevenQ74 Streisand would've butchered it. She's too classy to sing that trashy. I bet Cher would have done a good job with it though.
And as "Two Tons of Fun" they were the backup singers for Sylvester.
The two woman were also amazing backup vocalists for Sylvester, a SF club icon during the disco era.
Speaking of . . . would love to see a reaction to Sylvester. Do You Wanna Funk, You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real), anything really.
@@cjpew You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) is my JAM, along with Disco Heat!
Yes yes and YES! Sylvester! My Friday drive home from work music 😊
You guys reaction was everything! Jordan was not understanding why this is an actual song! 🤣🤣 Amber was truly here for it! 😆😆
The side eyes from Jay to Amber at how much she's feeling this song got me DYINNNNNN!! LMFAOOOOOO. Amber's recognition is right up there w/ his reaction to hers lolollllll
I think Jay’s reaction to Amber loving the song was the best part of this video. Lol
You go Amber. I can see that you love this. 😊👍
Rob will get to reap the rewards of this song later on. Perhaps some Afternoon Delight and In The Still Of The Night both.
@@ckobo84 Don't be smutty.
Ya’lls reaction to this song is PRICELESS! I don’t know who liked it more. Mr. Positive vibes is getting off on the tune, and Mz Phenomenal Woman is just so into it she’s ready to jump out of her chair screaming Haleijhluija!!!! Greatest moment I’ve seen yet!!
This song is an anthem. The buildup, the crescendo, and they are not signing...they are sang'in!
TOO FUNNY WATCHING JAY AND AMBER REACT TO THIS ONE!!! Jay reacts like most men to this song and Amber reacts like most women do to the song. Hilarious :) Love you guys!!!
OMG you are so right. Been digging this song since it came out. Still now everyone reacts the same. Hahaha
Jay with his, "It's raining down a little too hard " lol lol🤣
They were backup singers for Sylvester 😍🌈
He was upfront leading the parade... Proudly 😊👍
You make me feel (mighty real real)
A Great Song
RIP 🙏 Sylvester ✌️♥️
I’d love to see a reaction to You Are My Friend by Sylvester for pride month.
This has got to be the best music video reaction ever done!!!😂 I am laughing so hard that I had to pause the video because I can't see through the tears! The two of you have definitely accomplished the biggest goal of every day which is to not only make me smile, but to make me laugh until I can't see through the tears. And I can't tell you how valuable that is to me right now while I'm trying to take a brief vacation from the horrors and helplessness of the last 5 months. The two of you are always talking about how much you have gained from the friendships on this channel but you have done the same in equal share to the people who watch your videos every day and gets a smile and laugh and call you out when you're wrong and not only expand your world but the world of your children and the kids in your community.❤
OMG Jay didn't know where to look while Amber was like get me a night out with these ladies. Laughed out loud
I love it when the music sweeps up Amber and she takes off flying. !! It's what Music is supposed to do, lift you, elevate you, make you feel like you're flying. Fly Robin Fly !!!!
Amber! Oh my gosh! The best reaction I think I’ve ever seen from you. Gurl, you are FIRE!!! Rob, you are a lucky man.
I have watched this SOOOOO many times!!! I cannot love this enough! 😀
The story I heard was that the girls were so excited to release this song...and it went nowhere. A few years later a DJ for a gay nightclub in London discovered it and started playing it to a VERY happy club full of gay men. THEN and only then did it become a hit. What a fun song!
The Weather Girls were known as Two Tons of Fun when the sang backup for Sylvester. You gotta play Sylvester!
"Oh hush, y'all have y'all songs" Amen Amber! This was an amazing reaction to watch, so much fun. Really energized me and put a big smile on my face, thank you for doing this one!
Jay was getting a little worried there for a minute lol ☺️🤭💕
The joy on Amber's face just made my day! Great song!!
Paul Schaffer (yes, from David letterman) co-wrote this song.
Wow
This, in my opinion, is the funniest reaction from the two of you since you reacted to "Escape". I was roaring with laughter. I hope I did not disturb my neighbors.
I was thinking the same. I will be playing this one over and over. I watch the Escape one whenever I've had a really rough day....because the 7th grade science teacher comment always ALWAYS makes me laugh!!
Me too, but this time I wore depends.
Amber's reaction was just like the reactions in the dance club I used to go to. This song would be played and all the people would dance with such happiness
Ahh Amber, I love seeing you have such a fun time chair-dancing and rocking out to songs you like! (You too Jay 😊). Great reaction guys!
Big smile on my face watching Amber just rocking it, you go Girl!
ROTFLMAO - Amber I absolutely ADORE you! And have been waiting patiently for this one for sooooooo long. Girl - you made it WORTH the wait. After a looooong day at work - you've completely made my night with this. Jordan - thanks for going with the flow ;). Love you both bunches :)
Disco. Dance music. Disco was a change from "meaningful," "sit quietly and listen" folk rock, to "get up and have fun."
I love revisiting this reaction every now and then just to enjoy Amber's pure unadulterated joy. It's so infectious ❤
Don’t get jealous, Jay. It’s just fire. Makes women who have already found their man appreciate Mother Nature even more. The song has always attracted every kind of gal (married, single, in love, lonely etc...) because it is so fun!
Lesbians?
@@jp3813 Not sure about that. But this song was a big hit at gay clubs.
Hi there. I don’t think one person could think of or have to specifically write out every possible incarnation of who this song resonates with. I was neither trying to include everyone nor exclude anyone. ❤️
Given how many songs objectify women, there's no need to apologize for the odd one that objectifies men. This is pure fun!
@@christinec1928 No one's apologizing here. Plenty of men enjoy this song, especially gay ones.
OMG! I love this song. It’s just so fun.
Men and women sang and danced to this song rejoicing. It was just total FUN!!!
Amber reactions is priceless she can't hold her smile about the vibes
The songs you two have never heard of baffles me.
It's goofy, campy but fun and you can't help but sing along. They also have great voices.
"...get absolutely soaked in men" is maybe the most obvious innuendo I've ever heard, though. 🤣 And I still missed it for way too many years, lmao!
And couples watching this song may be my new favorite YT genre. 🤣
Martha Wash and Izora Armstead were the original Two Tons of Fun, the backup singers for Sylvester. They went on to record as The Weather Girls. Martha Wash continues to perform as the lead vocalist for groups like C&C Music Factory, Black Box (Everybody, Everybody), and others. She is AMAZING as a soloist!
This song can still be heard on many clubs around the world!!!
We would flood the dance floor when this song came on! SOOOOOOOO much fun!!
Jordans look on his face priceless 😂
Absolutely one of the MOST POPULAR club song ever in my time!! SO HAPPY to have such fun and good music!! Ladies night...It's Raining Men!!
"Where did you hear it's raining men?" 😂😂😂
Over the year it's played in many places and movies, but back in the day mainly in gay clubs and anywhere there's male exotic dancers like the old "Chippendale's" clubs from the 1970s & 80s.😂😂
OMG You guys had me cracking up . Amber, you are a riot. You made me smile with this one.
Learned to know the song as a German child, so didn't understand the lyrics, but loved the song, so much power, haunting, uplifting, fun.
The @4:00 mark is absolutely hilarious! Can’t stop laughing at J’s reaction to Amber’s excitement! 😂
Martha Wash, one if my favorite singers! One half of The Weather Girls , went on to have unique and controversial singing career in the 90’s(look it up!) , so underrated! The other Weather Girl is the late Izora Arnstead . The was a hit in the 70’s disco era..
It was a hit in the 80s, not the 70s.
mine as well !!
Hallelujah I need a thunderstorm of men . Magic Mike song . God bless Mother nature.
OMG..... Can you imagine. This song blasting out so loud, your eardrums are nearly bursting? This is a killer of a floor filler. Absolutely love it. Always have. GOD, it was sooo great to be young back then. If I found a Delorian, do you think I could get back to that time? ..........
NO, Me neither. Aah well, I can dream. Loved your reaction Amber. And I just know that we would have been the best of of friends..... That's if you were born in the 60s, and lived in our village 😳❤🎙🎵🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I've watched this a number of times, Amber cracks me up. Yes the 70's were so much fun.
That reaction was PRICELESS! You made my day. When we were at the club, very woman in the joint would stop what they were doing and run onto the dance floor!! 🤣🤣🤣
FINALLY!!! I must have recommended this song at least 20 times. I cannot wait to see both of your reactions. This is without a doubt one of the best low budget, total awesome videos from the 80's. It always made me laugh. These women can belt
A has the best reaction! J is looking at her like Do I Know you?! 😂
I saw the Weathergirls at a street festival in Frankfurt am Main in the 90´s. As this song began, all the guests who were enjoying the party sang along. It was wonderful
I LOVE Amber's reaction to this! I haven't laughed so hard in a while - I enjoyed it that much!
Random memory...in the mid-80's in middle school (7th or 8th grade, Catholic school), our PE teacher had us doing aerobics, which I'm sure was hilarious. :-) This was one of the songs I remember being played during the aerobics sessions. I'd heard it before, and I was pretty surprised that she was playing it in class. but it's a great workout song!
oh how fun! My PE teacher in 70 played Crackling Rosie for our aerobic warm up. Fun memories
@catholicfirefighter it’s just a fun memory. There’s NO reason to make it into something political. 😒
@catholicfirefighter I guess I thought your signature was part of your reply - my apologies for the confusion. But my original comment wasn’t intended at all to convey anything about natural law, god, or science. It was just me wanting to share a memory related to the song. 😊
Huge club hit loved Amber's reaction and Rob's shock. Unfortunately one of the ladies died but their daughters took over the mantel. They were brilliant talented singers obviously brought up in the gospel church with voices like that. They were the support singers of a singer called Sylvester who died young of Aids. He was a power house of a singer check some of his hits, huge in the clubs in the 80s.
As big as this hit was in mainstream charts, this became MASSIVE in the gay scene. It was the ultimate ANTHEM in gay clubs
These ladies were session singers and sang on so many hits by other artists. Despite their amazing voics, because they were 'big ladies' they were never considered for solo success of their own. Great that they got a chance to show their talent with this song even though it was pretty much a novelty hit.
These gals were originally known as "Two Tons of Fun" - fantastic singers, great dance tune!
A & J, this was your best reaction ever! LOL! Jay has times he has his hands in his face and Amber's absolutely digging it! Great song choice and thanks for this reaction.
Martha is LEGENDARY!! You’ve heard in commercials and she recorded an entire album in ONE DAY!! Sadly, she was not initially credited by Black Box but after a her day in court she was credited and added to the video!! Everybody Everybody & Gonna Make Sweat are/ were club anthems in the 1990’s.
You guys mad me laugh sooo hard! Jay is like WHAT Im SHOOK! Amber is like YES let's go!
