Starting Rehearsals for a New Show on the Norwegian Viva

Ocean Music Fest is coming to the Norwegian Viva! This is a show that we will be hosting in the Viva Theater and it will feature the instrumentalists from the Syd Norman's band and the vocalists from the lounge musician acts! Our first rehearsal is the first step toward installing this show on this brand new ship! Also, this all happened while we happened to be in Mykonos, Greece. What a cool job!

I have subscribed and am enjoying your videos on this cruise and the previous one. I am glad you are no longer "horse" and are back in the singing business. You are a very skilled guitarist and both you and Stephanie are talented and versatile vocalists. I was in several active vocal cover duos for may years but never as proficient or dedicated as you and Stephanie. I must say that marrying your partner is a great solution to the problem of acts breaking up and having to start all over with someone else. Also having a captive audience on a cruise ship eliminates the task of having to hassle your friends and relatives to show up and drink so you will get asked back for a second gig (something we always had to do and hated).
Your video work is excellent and provides an enlightening window to a world that many musicians will never experience. Thank you for doing it. It probably also increases your value to the cruise lines and other prospective employers.
Keep up the good work, don't get burned out, and I hope transitioning back to life after the contract is not too difficult. That would be a great topic for a post-cruise video.

Saline helps with the upper respiratory distress.
Steroids help with the allergic reaction.

It’s a whole experience! They transform the theater and the Syd Norman’s cast plays a ton of song a and weaves a story throughout. It’s a blast!!
So since your contract ends 1/7 does that mean they have to go through that full install all over again or do they stagger the contracts so they don’t have to shut the shows down?
Great question. Contract end dates are staggered and each replacement is slotted into place. There should not be an interruption when handoffs happen.
There will be tech rehearsals to get lighting, timing, and blocking figured out once the next round of musicians come onboard, but they will be performing in that show during their first week onboard.
Will this show be running in December?
It sure will! We opened the show on October 15th! I’m still working on the video about opening the show though!
