- After 6 months living in Da Nang, Vietnam, we have decided we can't leave. In this video we share the reasons why we love life here and why we decided to cancel all of our plans to return to Europe.

Thank you for choosing Vietnam as your destination.
I'm jealous of your ability to stay in Da Nang for extended period of time. I really like VN, its people, food, scenery and great value for what you get, be it for goods or services.
We are very lucky to have been here so long, and that we'll get the chance to come back next year. We love everything about this place!
the funny thing, i've just dove into the gemini web to find out, what interesting can be found outta there. and stumbled upon your post about Vietnam. My wife and I will be in Vietnam in a few days. For the first time in my life. cheers!
sadly i can't get much from your speech be cause of my own weak english skills
Haha, I'm sorry that my post took you from small, simple web back to fat one, but glad you enjoyed the video!
I'm sorry, we do speak very quickly!

I was just in da nang last week. Love everything about it. Stayed at TMS AND Voco ma belle. Great hotels. Voco ma belle is luxurious
cool video. Nice editing. We are going to Da Nang next month.. for a 35 day stay. Cant wait!
Rainy & Storm season will come from end Sept to Dec in Da Nang, G luck to you😂
Thanks! Enjoy your time in the city :)
You are going to love this place. I was there last month and just came back to California last week. Missing that vietnam already!
Make sure u visit hoi an. Hopefully the weather - rain won't be so bad. Have a great time
I think you should include Nha Trang which is better than Da Nang. I got bored after a week in DN.
Thanks for showing parts of vietnam i have never seen before. Very refreshing! These are nice drone footage
Thanks! Happy to share as much of this place as we can discover. We're so happy we copied the earlier drone footage from the bridge off the drone before it hit the building later that evening! 💀
Great content guys, arrived in Danang on a 30 day Visa😊 Big mistake, now I have to do a border run to Laos😅 Did you have any issues flying your drone b 4 its untimely demise🤔🙏
@@kelvine.sutton4280 Thanks! The Lao Bao border run isn’t too bad though, and the scenery on the way there is stunning. With the drone no issues. The only problem was the eventual building it (yes I) flew into :)
@@martinrue Did you have to register your drone, I thought the beach areas were mostly RED ZONES! Fly with caution I guess😊
@@kelvine.sutton4280 No, I didn't register it. Many people fly them. If you are careful I'm sure it'll be fine.
Thank you for loving Vietnam. I hope you will come back to Vietnam.❤❤❤
@@YenBinh-iq7nz We'll be back for sure!
Wow great video guys. I’ve only been here for a week in Danang and also never want to leave. But will have to return to Australia so already feeling the nostalgia you refer to. I’m hoping to get back before my 3 month visa expires as 2 weeks is too short. Great work with the drone footage and being down to earth and lighthearted in your reviews
Awesome comment, thank you! Hope you enjoyed your time in this amazing city and yes, hopefully you can get back again too! If you see us around next year, say hi. Safe travels.
Da Nang is such a vibrant city, everything is accessible and there are so many options for one particular things. I went there and I had no idea which café was the best. Turns out that's the thing I don't like living in a big city. I went to Quang Nam westwards, found one little café in the middle of a small village under pricking hot weather, it was such a relief and I felt every drop of the coffee there. People are so humble and welcoming. I saw a huge jackfruit hanging on the tree and asked them if they were ripped. They cut it off and served us for free. The landscape, with no doubt, is way too astonishing.
We love you, thank you for coming to VIETNAM, wish you joy, happiness and many interesting experiences
Cảm ơn bạn! Đất nước bạn thật xinh đẹp.
Miss you both!! Very jealous of all the experiences you're having. Looks mint!
Aw! Cheers James! You should come out next year, for sure.

After watching your videos, I’m totally hooked on Vietnam! The combination of the affordable cost of living and the absolutely amazing food makes it hard to even think about leaving. I might just have to extend my stay indefinitely! 😄🍲🌍 Appreciate you guys sharing videos! please keep posting more about living in Da Nang or other cities in Vietnam!!

just arrived in danang last week from 14 months in chiang mai, Im loving this place already
Yes! I heard this from lots of friends I've made over the past 6 months, especially March/April when many were in Da Nang from Chiang Mai due to burning. Feels like many cool creative people hop between the two. Maybe we'll catch you there from next year! PS: Coworking Danang is a cool coworking spot and community, and do ice baths every Friday morning at 9. Go along and meet some of the cool people there.
Thanks for a beautiful video you had made, our country always warmly welcome you back at anytime. Cheers !

Thank you for your time and posting. One question, please. How do you apply for a new evisa after three months. Thank you. I'll be there in October to see if I want to retire there in January. Great drone work.
Thank you! You apply for the 90-day visa (assuming it's available for your nationality) via the Vietnamese immigration website. It's a smooth process. If you're in the country, you'll need to leave, apply, and return (or use a local agent to speed that up).
@@martinrue Thank you. So, if no agent, you can just make a copy at a print store or something? So, if I wanted to pay you for your time? How do I do that... It won't be millions. ;)
@@Mr.DJones Once you're issued the visa via Vietnam immigration, they email you the document. You can print it, some people just keep the PDF. Either way, when you arrive, they know you have the visa and stamp your passport appropriately. No need to pay me, happy to help!
Thank you for loving Vietnam & hope you will come back again...
That is most definitely our plan. Cảm ơn anh!

You'll definitely prefer Thailand as its a lot more fun there. Da Nang is more of a chilled vibe. Also, if you want to long-term SE asia, Thailand is a better option as if you want to be in DN long-term it will be better for you both to start teaching Engish. As they are slowly starting to crack down on visa runners..
I am literally thinking if I can deal with winter in London or scrape my coins together and go to Vietnam for 3 months 😂
@@civivva4501 I fully support this behaviour. 😂
Maybe it's time for me to take a trip back to VN. Family fled to the US while I was 3 during the fall of Saigon 49 years ago. Perhaps I'll wait for the 50 year anniversary. I have no memories of my birth country. Thanks for the inspiration and cheers!

I think you have made an excellent choice to remain in Thailand and/or Vietnam. I suppose you both will divide your time between the two countries. What are your visa options in Vietnam? Good decision.
That's right, we'll be in Thailand half the time and Vietnam in the good weather months Jan -> May/June, before it gets super hot. In Vietnam, the best option is the standard tourist Visa, which gives you 3 months. You can then leave and come back for another 3, and some people do this on a constant cycle.
Enjoy while you can, once you have kids...it's pretty much over for traveling until they grow older.
yes you settled in , ill be coming from jan 20 to march 28 ill be in hirise on beach i have no budget , im rich
Greats video keep up the good work
Thank you for watching and for your comment 🙏
I'm thinking the same, but torn between there and Hoi An. I like the chill vibes of Hoi An and they have one of the best coworking spots there.
Our plan originally was to go directly to Hoi An and hang out at Hub, and we've been several times at this point, but Da Nang captured us! There's just way more going on. But yeah, depends on the vibes you're after. Hoi An is very pretty and more chill. The great thing is that you can be in one and easily go to the other - it's a beautiful 20 min ride from one to the other.
@@martinrue Agree 100%. Same same but different! Yesterday I actually went from Son Tra Peninsula to Hoi An, then back again, all in actually quite a short space of time, with lots of beeping my horn along the way 🤣
@@eddy_creative That sounds delightful. Such a striking difference here in BKK - no beeping (or, very little). I'd just gotten used to it, too :D
@@martinrueThats quite funny, i just made the transition from over a year in Bkk! Enjoy the lack of beeping and super respectful drivers! 😅

I can't believe how white your skin is after 6 months in the nam
Nice video guys! I have one question: You always hear how bad the internet over there is. How was ur experience in general? If your job requires strong and stable internet, is Vietnam ok for that?
Thank you! My first remark about Thailand was how much better the internet is. It's true that in Vietnam is can be quite bad. That said, you can also find some really good connections. Some co-working spots, and even some average cafes end up having 100mbps lines. I was at Coworking Danang (awesome community + space, btw) and their connectivity was great. YMMV, depending where you are, but in Da Nang there were plenty of good spots. Still behind when compared with Thailand though, unsurprisingly.
@@martinrue Yeah, Thailand really is amazing on that regard. Have been there last winter and never had any issues whatsoever. Thxs for the quick reply and all the best to u two! 😉

@@jojosaves We spent 3 months at in-person classes. The book is meant as a quicker route to reaching a basic but solid level :)
Cost so cheap there, so you can't leave?
I think so too, I was planning for a 2 week holiday there, and it ends up bring a 3 week holiday because it was still cheaper than 2 weeks due to the flight ticket difference.
I leave on 14th - $800
I leave on 21st - $200
In 6 days there, I will not spend 600 for accommodation and food. It will be less.
For us, lower cost is not the biggest factor. It's the community of awesome people here, it's the way the city feels, and it's the Vietnamese lifestyle. It's everything combined. Of course, it's also really nice paying reasonable prices for things like coffee and food, instead of insanely hiked Western prices for the same thing.
Question; the misses where did u get your helmet?
From a random little mechanic shop we can’t even remember now! You’ll find tons like that in Vietnam though.
6 months in Da Nang when you can only get a 3 month tourist visa.. how is it possible? :o (I'm jealous and want to do the same)
