This is something that people forget about: Wing Chun is not just a striking art; it also has throws and locks.

Im practicing/learning mantis/shuai jiao and that first throw you demonstrated is one of the ones I've learned and I can attest for everyone else that think its all faked because it looks so easy I'll tell you its not because all it is utilizing body mechanics and physics.

@@driver3899, I'm going to stop you before you get into some stupid twist logic.
Like I said, just because it is a self defense technique doesn't mean it is good or safe to spar. There are good techniques that are only safe to practice at slower speeds and lite pressure.
You don't spar to hurt your partner.

@@9usuck0 Well we can agree that the goal of sparing is to practice without damaging each other (hurting is fine in most regards)
I am curious as to your reasoning though for not training your skills against resistance, do you really want the first time they are tested under any pressure to be in a literal life and death situation?

I did Wing Chun for about 4 years privately as well as Southern Short Fist and Northern Long fist kung fu for over 7 years. After that I ended up doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA.I now hold a 3rd degree black belt in BJJ.I could never get my wing chun to work in sparring BUT I found that I could use it when I grappled.I would love to share this with you,I think you are open minded and could see you appreciating it.Anyways let me know if you are keen.

Quick question Adam. I train in Kali/JKD ok. So we train kicking in the leg or knee like you did to you student. I watch a video of a guy who said it's impossible to break someone's leg or even damage it. Do you believe you can break a leg or just maybe injure someone's leg? I love to hear your take. Thanks again, I love watxh your videos and learning your philosophies and concepts 🙏.

Even if you don't break the leg, a stomp kick into the joint done properly will force the leg to bend.

I've kicked someone in the leg before and I know I did some damage but not necessarily broken it lol. The reason why I commented is because of Icy Mike on hard to hurt channel. He said it's impossible to break a leg lol.

Leg bone is too thick and hard to break. That is usually just in the movies. You can however hyper extend it by kicking/pressing down on at the right angle.

The first video of this dude I seen, I thought good on you for not selling the bullshit, as he joked about other Kung fu & Taichi Chanel’s and then I saw this one, and yep it’s Bullshido 101. This only works with other practitioners in the same martial art, who have an understanding of exactly where they need to place their hands and body.

@@Sevalle1 No one agrees 100% on anything. I think there is a language barrier. Search wing chin throws. There is nothing. Because wc has no throws. If the opponent is not offering forward energy he isn't going far. BJJ and Aikido and even Karate have throws that will throw you whether you give them forward energy or not. I like what Adam is doing that's why I watch his videos so dont distort it into something different. All I said was "call it something other" than a throw. Because its not a throw.
