      That's funny remark but i don't think he would be ranked to play against Carlsen if he had no chance. But it's true he looks a bit like the likeable friend that went through great unfairness like loosing a loved wife from her cheating on him. He looks kind and a great friend to have. Magnus on the other hand.. looks unfriendly and ruthless like a viking would.

    Such a Magnus game. Dead draw position vs a 2600+ GM. He moves a few pieces around seemingly (to my eyes at least) randomly. Then he’s up a pawn. Then he’s got a protected path and victory. It’s uncanny how he sees these things. (And, no I’m not suggesting anything other than genius.)

    The concept to play f5 in order to get the white knight trapped in case of Nf7+ followed by Nxh6 is so cool. Especially in rapid. Huge play by Magnus

    For 60 or so moves, the game was equal... then couple of poor moves, and one loses. Magnus gets all these "equal" positions right and winning.

      If white takes the pawn, black king moves to e7 and traps the knight, so white is making a big blunder.

    why didnt the other guy use a fork with his knight at 6:32? his pawn would then be free.

    • @ksham.
      @ksham. Před měsícem

      He can't. Nf7+ to fork the Black King and pawn will result in Ke7, attacking the White Knight, then the White Knight taking the H pawn will result in the White Knight being trapped after Kf8 followed by Kg7 next move.
