  • The production of cement is responsible for around 8% of global CO2 emissions. That is roughly equal to all the passenger cars on the planet and more than double what commercial aviation emits. Ben Tracy reports.

Cement with water =/= concrete. Concrete also needs aggregate.

Baby steps. Not everything has a green replacement yet, but doing nothing isnt gonna change anything. Gotta start somewhere.

Fat chance. But even if they get 10% of the concrete market -- that is $Billions and $Billions.
Pretty cool. Good luck for the 10% of the market.

Here is where regulators and a shared sense of responsibility comes in. Do we really want no choice but to live in a world of super storms and droughts because of lack of investment. lol but I get where you are coming from. International cooperation is next to impossible.

Hmmm. That notion seems quite unreasonable to me. For the reason that life without purpose is miserable and death ends it all. If one can do good with their means of living... Why Not? A man can not take his riches to the grave can he? Therefore, given the fact that these 2 men have more money than one knows what to do with, for several life-times, and life is short, doing good is a noble way to reach for meaning in life. Hence, why not invest few millions of dollars into companies that trying to undo some of the massive harm modern society has brought upon itself. Or is it that all humans are evil and no one is capable of doing something good without ulterior motives. For my part I choose to believe the former not the latter.
