- Today we have 34th Episode of Fun Farms, where I discuss changes to Iron Farms in 1.16.2, update our previous designs to 1.16.2 and provide a new 20X design capable of producing 9000 items/hr with minimal compute requirements
I also introduced a new AI Tracker app that can be used to design and debug your own farms. AI tracker app is bundled with carpet 1.4.9 for Minecraft 1.16.2
To load the app, type
`/script load ai_tracker`
then use it with the `/ai_tracker` command.

Also remember that in newer versions you should install lightning rods to keep your villagers safe
Logs on to Minecraft: Huh my iron farm broke. Wonder if there is a fix?
Gnembon: HERE'S A FIX PLUS A NEW DESIGN PLUS A TOOL TO HELP YOU MAKE YOUR OWN!!

Gnembon, I know this comment will seem really cliché but, I really enjoy what you do and how you do/explain it! I really hope you also enjoy making it as much as we enjoy watching it! Keep doing what you do

excellent, as always. I'm so happy for you Gnembon for reaching 100k subs and getting your plaque! It's well deserved! You put together incredible designs/ideas for those of us who love the technical aspects of minecraft. I will continue to be a big fan of your channel, keep up the amazing work!🥳

Could u plz tell me where to afk for this farm :))
@@safinmasteryoutube1461 Either build it in your spawn chunks in which case it would function 24/7 or if u build it somewhere else then just make sure you're not super far away from it (more than 128 blocks). around 30 blocks away from the nearest module's center should be ok.
@@Person-hb3dv Really appreciate your reply. Thank you. Is it a good idea to make the farm 128 blocks above the ground? (Spawn proofing or smthing I am quiet new). And being afk at the centre of the farm for maximum irons? :))

I love how in depth your farm videos are
It also looks like that you could use Nit-Wits in Iron Farms, as they no longer require Workstations to function again.
Yeah, I can’t see why they wouldn’t work.
Do they sleep and wake up later than normal villagers?
@@theseangle I didn't consider that and don't know if it's a factor or not. But considering how rare Nit-Wits are, you could just have them Breed as they don't need a Profession to do that, or have one handy if you have a Channeling Trident and a Thunderstorm pops up. (May want to set up a Potion Farm before you convert the Nit-Wit to a Witch, as they are nowhere near as aggressive.)
Sacrifice them
Thank you! I could not figure out what was wrong with my iron farm, now I have the answer.

Hey gnembon, these videos have really helped me with learning more and I've been getting more and more into making my own farm designs. I made a 2-cell iron farm with the help from these and I'm really pleased with how it turned out, plenty enough iron for me on my realm.

@10:24 correction, mobs can spawn on iron trapdoors since 1.16. You can now make a vanilla shifting floor without relying on glitches
edit: I was wrong mobs can spawn on trapdoors up to 1.16.1, it was removed in 1.16.2
Δημήτρης Παπανικολάου my fortress farm was broken when they change that, this is the best news I heard all month
Actually mobs spawning on trap doors was patched in 1.16.2, and the current method of shifting floor isn't using a glitch.
And now I'm sad again
@@jurassic1067 depends on what you consider to be a glitch. Current shifting floor designs use the elevation change between soul sand and regular blocks to function. I don't think that this is intended behaviour and it could get patched.
@@dimitrispapanikolaou6699 Mojang confirmed it won't get patched
It's a glitch which turned into a feature
Thank you so much for the fix for the old design! I've been looking for these answers since the iron farm on our server broke last week with 1.16.2.

Ooh, thanks a lot, that'll come in handy!
As for the tracker functions: it would be really useful if there were functions for other villager-related data, such as their designated beds and inventories (for breeding) or workstations (for trading halls).
I believe he addressed how to do that in his 1.14 villager breeder vid
@@jonaspaladin1398 True, I even used that, but the new tool seems way more flexible. As far as I recall, there was no way to see which bed the villager chose (only if it was taken/available or not) and which items are in its inventory (only the number of portions). The latter would be especially handy to keep track of inventory fillers and food types, and could also be used to debug crop farms
@@Sithoid There's actually a datapack by Zefryo which allows you to see the closest villager's bed and workstation, discord.gg/grz5UCW

Excellent video, thanks a lot!
So I missed why you made it a 5 station (20x) design? Was that just for timing purposes, and it works better than if you had made it a 4 station (16x) design, like the older ones? Could you do 6 as well to keep it a nice rectangle design?

Ceazar Carr yeah, I was just trying to think of a different obscure mob to kill the golems

The AiTracker is an invaluable tool, Gnembon! That vertical design is similar to what I did in 1.15, but I wasn't sure how far the golem detect range was, so the bottom 2 quads weren't spawning like 80% of the time. I will use this app and attempt to make a dense vertical design that prevents the golems from being detected as they fall. I'm sure it can be done.
It would be great to see the ai tracker with a raid farm

Your videos have two uses, at least: your videos are good to get the best information on the specific farms, and to sleep because your voice and the background music are so relaxing.
Hah! What a nice explanation of all the concepts related to iron farm. You always make the best farms. Also, hermitcraft people coming to take this idea in 3...2...1...
Hermit and almost every sub from his chanel and anyone how knows about this farm, cause it's simply the best.
I don't think so, they will just fix it probably. They will make a new farm if the old is completely broken, or if they start another season.
They don't take... Why do you think gnembon posts these videos ? To help the redstone community. Also whenever hermits build gnembons farms they always mention that it was gnembons design and usually give links to the tutorials
No hermit plans on building iron farms at the moment. Tango has his own design so he does not care... And Mumbo will probably just make the changes that were shown in this video. Xisuma's farm also does not need these changes and neither does Keralis's farm. I don't see this as an impact to Hermitcraft at all. It does affect people like us who have his designs in our own survival worlds. Impulse might build this, but that is it. Etho will kill himself before thinking about going online for farm designs.
I would love to see a tutorial for the last design, as I'm thinking of building it in my world
There's a world download in the description.

Hey, I've just built the farm you showed at 18:27 and, even by using litematica to make sure things were correct, this farm keeps breaking. I did a long afk session in the area (spawn chunks) and I got nothing. One thing I noticed is that only one or 2 villagers per cell sleep when the farm is off, and even when I make them pathfind and sleep properly, they generate some iron golems but still stop pathfinding to the bed soon after and it breaks. Is there a solution for this?
Same, I did it exactly like the world and only two of them sleep, but they dont spawn any iron golems
@@tesiiin dude same!

Guys I fixed this a long time ago but didn't post my solution, sorry. I changed the layout of the beds, keeping the single glass block that they stand on at the same place. It's a layout that Gnembon uses during the video. Here it is: imgur.com/a/1nlvY4t
Good vid, so cool you mentioned spigot, I switched over to fabric, for more vanilla behavior, but I know spigot/paper is pushed hard by hosting sites. Pretty cool.

Congratulations on reaching this mark. You trully deserved it. All the work and effort you put on your videos is not something we see every day. Thank you for that
Congrats on the silver play button Gnembon!
I need help. I build this on a server but the problem is it take a bit longer for the villager to be scare and the cooldown is running slow. The only fix I can think of is making the comparator timer a bit longer but that fix is not always gonna work every time the Pillager come around. So any fix or solution?
I've got the same problem on a server. sometimes the villagers won't get scared at all
make sure that there are glass blocks above rails as shown in the world download. it will stop the pillager from scaring the villagers to early. and scare them all at the same time with would result in a consistent 4 iron golems per module.
Hey i just got the same Problem aswell did you find a fix by any chance? Also what server are you running? ours is paper with constant 20tps i guess paper breaks the farm but i am not to sure. golems only spawn every second time the pillager comes around
@@jermainaugustin8750 you ever fix this?

Yeah you're good
yeah, it will. it will only be a bit slower at night. Just change the bed design as he showed in this video and you're good to go
Should be. Just make sure the killing lava blade still works: most old designs had golems touching both water and lava. This was patched in 1.16.2
You just have to add string and carpet over all the bed blocks
@@zay_dog1267 no, this only happens in 1.16.1 pre relase, this was reverted back in 1.16.1 full release.
Awesome! I made the Pillager quad farm. Nothing like a farm that fits inside one chunk and pumps out 4 iron golems at a time. I even used a captain so I can see his banner bouncing up and down -forever.
I struggled for like 2 weeks on my own with villagers falling off their beds before I found the solution with placing carpet above them. I should have just watched this video- arg!! Thank you!

Fantastic!
Thank you for this. I've been super discouraged from making one given how much they have changed in the past year. Seems like whenever a new design comes out, it only survives 3-6 months. Hoping this will be the last design I have to adapt to.
After Shulkercraft
I recently noticed that villagers have a new type POI entry in their "Brain" data, besides home, workstation and meeting point, they now also list golems they have seen and where. I'm not entirely sure why this were added but I suspect it might be due to some of the bugs pertaining to golems spawning out of control in villages (which they still seem to do)
And their pathfinding also seem to be changed a bit in 1.16.3, they have difficulties pathfinding up stairs correctly and often try to jump up on the side of stair blocks that are 2 blocks up which they can't and they will continue to do so until either being pushed by someone or getting a new pathfinding task.
It would be nice if you could make a video about some of the bugs/issues there are with villagers. Highligting the problem they cause and how to mitigate some of them when playing around with villagers.
I just built this and it’s amazing. Definitely time consuming to get the villagers in but it’s definitely worth it.
