YES! She gave the song what it needed which was a “loving mother’s comfort.” The feeling of “I’m taken care of,” and like she could stand against anything and come out on top. Every lyric felt meaningful, her voice literally glided on those notes. It was soft, super relaxed, ugh 😩 I’m absolutely in love with her take!
not neaely enough people talk about this musical let alone sing it and this is beautiful and it has brought me reassurance that eventhough bad things happen, things turn out well still. i did it virtually during covid. sounds awesome.
