- Dad wants to bathe Kobe, but Kobe wants mom to bathe him for whatever reason. He is clearly tired as he is emotional about it and struggling to explain himself. In the end, Dad did bath time, but Kobe initially said he would do it himself. This was his first attempt to bathing himself. Good start, young man.

The power struggle begins. My husband and I were in your shoes 23 years ago. Kobe’s at that age now where he’s learning and observing the dynamics in the family and who has the authority. You and Sandy must maintain a united front especially in front of Kobe and make decisions beforehand regarding bath time, etc so that Kobe sees the two of you on the same page when it comes to what’s best for him. It’s important that Kobe recognizes both your authority. Trust me, his tears will dry and he will be just fine.

Kobe will develop true authority when his emotions and feelings are respected. This doesn't require setting up a "front". Kobe doesn't refuse to go for bathing, he refuses to have his father with him. If his father's company is forced upon him, a beautiful community cannot be created and he will not be able to enjoy bathing. Yes, he would eventually obey but out of a surrender through inferiority and not from the bottom of his heart.
Is there any reason or just a power play by Kobe. I doubt there is any reason not to want dad. Maybe Mom is more relaxed and indulgent about the bath. Dad more TCB about it?

They only approve of the heartwarming interactions, but misjudge the times when you question or challenge Kobe’s behavior for his growth.
In the end…Sandy said, “Daddy’s still bathing you…” Pay attention because Sandy has both a healthy father and a supportive husband.
In videos where Dad pressures Kobe (and there have been several), Sandy appears unbothered, and allows her husband to father his son in ways that can be uncomfortable for some women to watch.
Yet this is real authentic life, and healthy parenting that’s not going to change for viewers approval.
Very considered response. Men and woman play different but both equally important roles. If left to the Mother only the boy child will not toughen up and that is Dad's job as his toddler moves into boyhood and develop into a responsible young man . Only His Dad can show him how to become a man.
Honestly, I get fed up with the dumbing down of the male role in society or the misunderstanding of masculinity. As a woman I appreciate the differences and love to see masculinity in action. Balance is wonderful

I’m on Kobi’s side. Still remember how it feels to be a child when adults try to resolve their issues. You can see from the video that Mopany upset Sandy somehow, so Kobi sticks with his mother and wants her to be around. Poor Kobi! Still many years ahead of you before you learn how to deal with your parents ( compromise ) in the way that no one is upset!
I sense dad's personal emotions and Kobe might too, words are the smallest part of communication and there's a whole lot of tone challenging an already insecure Kobe. We've seen this scene before, maybe they can find out what Kobe doesn't like about daddy bathtime when both are calm and it's not bathtime, or what he like's about mum's. Problems can't be solved when emotions are heighten on either end.

Maybe if Dad helped out more, he would want to go with him. Children usually are more comfortable with the parent they are around the most. I am a child therapist, I see it all the time.

Every little trauma with kids soon pass by and get replaced by a different one. I found that every awkward stage with my kid was stressful until it changed to a different one and then it was more stressful and I’d have given anything to go back to the previous stage.
