    I dropped my seat off at an auto upholstery shop last week. I'm adding 2" of soft foam as a sort of "Pillow topper". I'll have to wait until next season to try it. We shall see.

    Sharp sled. The tunnel on the back looks to leave a lot of room for storage with the shorter seat?

    If you were to compare this sled 858 and the first burn on you did on the 9R. What would be your thoughts ?

      @jeffsteenbakkers4435 Před 4 měsíci

      It’s closer to the 850’s level of performance. The 9R steps it up from the 850 class overall but obviously not quiet an 850 turbo either. I feel the 858 will be comparable to other 850’s down at sea level.

      I like the catalyst and riot 858. If I got one of these sleds I would probably bum the Garrett turbo off my 8v92 2 stroke Detroit. Not sure where I would put an intercooler on this thing though but would paint the 858 engine alpine green.

    If you're going to stand there and describe the sled at least take your helmet off so I don't have to hear the muffled verbiage

    Fit and finish look bad on arctic cat selds

    • @joshgessinger4509

      Fit and finish isn’t that bad specially the catalyst is really nice. Cats as durable or more than any sled out there. Never have engine problems cant think of one bad example of a engine cat ever had. Cat dont have a million updates every year like Polaris does. I raced cat for 15 years SX and pro XC with many wins and championships. Hardly broke enough parts to even mention. Cant say the same for other brands I raced against. Had to stop racing in 2017 during my XC race career only other sled that could compete was ski doo also very durable sled. Love my cats always fast ride handle great and very durable. I work on sleds for a living nothing wrong with cats. As good or better than anything out there.

    Very suspect on your ride. That’s the lamest first burn you’ve ever done. You rung the 600s neck, gave us wot videos showing speedo on 650, 850s, and grandma ride the most anticipated cat engine…. It’s a dog is how I interpret this. 😢

      Snowwest also said it's a dog on the bottom end. I already pre-ordered my 858 riot and am hoping the production clutch and fueling make it more snappy on bottom end vs pre-production

      Subscribe to dyno tech its as much hp in break in mode on dyno than any 850 after break in. With more torque the torque curve is very impressive on the dyno. Maybe clutching needs work idk but the dyno doesn’t lie should be a rocket. Im more worried about top end cats clutching hasn’t been impressive for top end speed in years now. Except the thundercat of course but even that has room for improvement with clutching.

    Sorry but have to laugh when i see people standing on groomed flat trails i don’t get it. Raced SX and pro XC many years we only stand when necessary. Off trail riding is when standing a lot is beneficial.

      @@sooperdan probably why manufacturers making seats so small and hard now. Idk about u but i like some cushion under me. My fathers catalysts would be much more comfortable with a softer seat. Cant help thinking manufacturers making sleds for these guys that stand all day.
      For the life of me i dont see any advantage of a rock hard seat unless ur standing all the time. Mountain sleds probably makes sense to have a small hard seat less weight ur standing moving around a lot and don’t do high mileage rides. Idk been riding for 40 years im 45 now. Maybe im just old school set in my ways but definitely don’t like the hard seats lol!!
