- We take you around our FAVORITE city in America: Philadelphia! So many of you have never seen our hometown, but that will change today. Check out the city of Philly, some of our favorite spots, and get an inside look into the #1 food we missed while traveling abroad for a year!
Philadelphia is a city known for many things: the Philadelphia Eagles, the famous Philly cheesesteak, and being the birthplace of America. To us, it’s home. For all of you that have joined the channel during our south east Asia travel vlogs, we wanted to show you what our life looks like when we aren’t traveling. Philly is an east coast city about two hours from both New York City and Washington DC. Spending a weekend in Philly is a popular getaway for a lot of people on the east coast and abroad. Today we show you the East Passyunk neighborhood of Philadelphia which has some of the best rated restaurants, bars, and culture on the entire East Coast of America!
Please bear with us while we take a break from travel and get back into the swing of things for our first official Philly vlog. We will be filming here in Philadelphia city and surrounding cities for the next few months while we plan and decide on our next big travel adventure! So don’t loose track of us just because these aren’t travel vlogs. We’ll still be putting out regular youtube videos with cinematic and probably lots of yummy food too ;)

Do more vlogs of Phily bcoz there r many vlogs of New York and LA out there but not much of Philadelphia.
I was born and raised in Philly. It is a great location. Great beaches and boardwalks ~ 60 miles away in the summer with nowhere near the crowds like in the northern part of the Jersey shore, and skiing a couple hours away in the winter. If you want to go to NYC, it's only 95 miles away.
"Rittenhouse Square is like a small Central Park." No Central Park is like a small Fairmount Park.
Exactly, and CP was a planned park, Fairmount Park is natural. Frederick Law Olmsted advised city planners who hired him to just plant more trees. And so they did.

Content block? How about some Philly neighborhood tours. Rittenhouse, Old City, Society Hill, Fitler Square, Northern Liberties, etc... Where to eat, shop, stay, see, etc... Let's see the Schuylkill River Trail, Penns Landing, Manayunk. I love the NYC based CZcamsrs i.e. Sarah Funky, Here Be Barr, Erik Conover. There's hardly anyone doing this for Philly.
Steve Abrams AGREED!!!! I want to do this, Ryan is hesitant. I think we will end up compromising and we will do a few neighborhood videos and then fun random days where he will go out and take the lead. We have to see how it goes but I love where your head is at ❤️

The squares in Philly are like the squares in NYC. If you want something comparable to Central Park I'd go to Fairmount Park past the Museum.

Robin Holbrook moved away from Philly and miss it like crazy. So underrated. I live in Charleston now and I miss the museums, the amazing restaurants and the diversity of Philly. Charleston’s nice but it’s not my home.

You two have already built a healthy repore with your audience. Stop driving yourself crazy about what to film and just relax. There are markets, temples and museums etc in Phili too. Also, Stacia was great providing historical content and context. Lots of history in Phili.

You have a great eye and I can see from the perspectives you search out that adhoc is not easy for you. Not sure I’ve got any profound inspiration for you. Sorry but I totally understand. Just know that what you do post is well done (beyond the fire drills of work related responsibilities). The 2 of you are creatives and need to create so for today create! Save, explore future possibilities for adventure and when you’re both ready...get off you duffs and head out. Good to see you get back on the horse.I think your big issue is to get that cinematic b roll footage that makes your videos so stunning it takes a lot of camera equipment and planning in your head.This turns it into hard work and not something that can be done on the spur of the moment.Why not just carry around a tiny camera in your pocket everywhere you go and grab bits of stuff for a raw vlog.Getting footage for raw vlogs at least gives you content to upload but also keeps your creative mind engaged and leads to ideas for the cinematic b roll we have come to love.
Exactly! Capturing quality, cinematic footage is always harder than just carrying around my point and shoot camera and randomly filming. But, you’re right, just filming more often should help get the creative juices flowing 😊
Philly is the best place cheap rent
Nice one. I work in Philly but live in King of Prussia area. Try to blog the largest mall KIng of Prussia and Valley Forge Park. Im Filipino. Any question about Philippines let me know. Im a traveler too. I just got back from Palawan and Leyte Philippines.

I have not filmed nor edited a video since I returned to the U.S. I just have no motivation here. I’ll take some photos but that’s about it. I think it’s a real thing. I’ll have to base back over in SE Asia I think. Hang in there... it only gets worse!🤣🤣🤣 Love the real life type vlogs btw.
I hear ya man. It can be tough but I think it’s because we think the place we live is boring because we LIVE there. But so many people haven’t seen it yet. But yeah, maybe we just need another vacation 😂😉
I hope you guys don't get discouraged from making vlogs now that you're back in Philly. From what I've noticed in CZcams trends, it always appears that a large portion of views on SE Asia videos tend to be from locals, who are curious to see what foreigners think of their country. Once you're back in America, you tend to lose a lot of that audience. As a Canadian, it's totally the opposite for me...I like to see everything that's NOT where I'm from. Personally, I'm looking forward to these Philadelphia videos. I know you're not food vloggers by any means, but I would definitely want to see more of the Philly food staples. Also, just more of the city in general. My sister lived there three years, and I never got a chance to visit!

Did you guys ever try Pizza 4ps when you were in Vietnam? I actually may like it better than many pizzas I've had in the US... their burrata with arugula ahhh drool! But yeah besides that generally pizza is not so great in Asia :)

Pietros Pizzeria on south st and Pizzeria Vetri in Rittenhouse Square are my 2 favs for brick oven pizza.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Since getting back from my trip I've been on a creative hiatus for about 2 months. I felt bad about it for a while but now Im just accepting it as part of the process. You're just getting back into the swing of things back home...seeing friends....getting your bearings. You will pick up the camera again....you will make more videos. Don't doubt yourself or your capabilities.
You've come back to your home town with new eyes...new outlooks. Maybe you just need to take the time to absorb your new (old) scenery in the moment for yourself. See this time as your "Debrief". You will pick up the camera when the time is right. Don't force yourself because that will only end in you being frustrated.
