    It is so sad that after 64 years of independence, Malaysians are still not culturally aware of each other's traditions. Having grown up here, yet just discovering food that is quite common, really proves that Malaysians just stick to their own ethnic community without bothering to get to know each other... Kudos to the British for leaving us this legacy of divide and rule... And kudos to proponents of vernacular schools for perpetuating this divide....

    Isi ikan patin memang sedap tapi nak siang (scale) tu kena ikut petua (tips). Kalau u hentam saja, all you get is the stinky smell.
    You need to wash the fish and submerge with lime juice and water.

  • @udaswoop
    @udaswoop Před 2 lety +37

    I think that ketupat sotong is the Terengganu version where the gravy is white and have onions in it. Kelantan version don't have onions in it. They also add palm sugar hence making the gravy dark brown. Taste wise, Kelantan version is sweeter and Terengganu version more savory.
    Tips : In sucking the 'Siput Sedut', don't suck it with 1 long sucking action. Instead use intervals of short, forceful, quick sucking act. It's more effective :)

    Gulai lemak cili api ada banyak. Org dulu2 tak brp makan daging spt lembu atau ayam, nangka muda, pisang muda, pegaga, pucuk ubi, nenas, pucuk paku, cendawan yg kutip sendiri di halaman atau kebun, dan banyak lagi. Carilah dari Perlis hingga Sabah you akan dapat banyak ingredient untuk gulai lemak atau gulai kari, dan mcm2 cara memasak lagi.
