I grew up during the time of the first attempts at putting a satellite in orbit. I can appreciate the difficulties having seen all the failures occurring with other agencies and companies. Every SpaceX launch is a new attempt and it never gets old. I find it amazing that they have been getting it right as often as they do. This rocket is the most dependable launch vehicle I have ever seen. Kudos to Mr. Musk and his team.
Strange how companies are crying how they can't keep up with SpaceX. I say either lead follow are get out of the way...
We actually built the control equipment for the first Titan Is with vacuum tubes. Each tube required mili-amps of power just to heat the filament. We were exuberant when the first bird actually flew out of sight of the launch pad instead of blowing up.
We have come a long way from stepper switches to computers that are smaller than a lunch box controlling the whole missile.
I don't see how SS can get by without a full-fledged RC System; especially when attempting S-S fuel/ox transfer.
I thought SpaceX and Starlink where two independant companies?
Why not entirely encompass starship in heat tiles? For habitability doesn't starship need a small reactor? Doesn't heat tiles reduce the thermal load required for habitants? Doesn't it add protection for reentry?
And yet, a lot of American are still bashing Elon Musk?!😅
