- 3D METHOD STATEMENT OF A DAM CUTOFF / PLASTIC DIAPHRAGM WALL / CEMENT BENTONITE / SEEPAGE BARRIER CONSTRUCTION
The video shows the construction of a cutoff wall to remediate or prevent seepage of water from happening under a dam or reservoir. The seepage over time can cause the foundation of the dam to weaken, potentially leading to the collapse of the dam itself. The construction of the wall is accomplished with the construction of a cement bentonite (also called CB or coulis) plastic diaphragm wall. This is undertaken with the usage of modern equipment that can dig through both soils and rocks. Wall thicknesses can vary from 80cm up to 1.5m. The wall can reach depths of up to 250m.

I have worked in a CFRD project and I must say that the animation was good for newbies to understand the concept..... great work. atleast someone made it.
i can't believe those 2 guys stood there and watched all that work being done and never even moved much less lifted a finger to help.... must be a government job....
the plan is to work smart not hard
in real life dude in crane takes out atleast one of them because he's drinking AGAIN. boss makes decision when nobody looking drop body in hole steal his paycheck to get a hooker and some coke.
Eh, more like the contractor is charging the government for them being there. Slap those billable labor hours right onto the pile.
I like how the excavator can dig 90 degree holes
Notice how little dirt is dropped by the digger? I bet it's being imbessled
Thank you for your efforts. I understood a lot of things which I couldn't studying books. God bless you....whoever you are, wherever you are. You saved my time and money and increased my knowledge. 😇
You are welcome 🙏 feel free to download our brochure with technical information at www.brasfond.com 🚀
i love how those huge scoops of dirt they pull out of the ground only make a tiny pile of dirt...that's some efficient excavation
You're missing the point
As usual, one guy (or possibly even machine by itself) is doing all the work while everyone else is getting paid to stand right nearby and in the way, musing at what a wonderful project this is and how work sure is coming along. At one point they even disappear for a lunch break only to reappear shortly after. Wow.
Love the "magic" buckets that operate on an arc, and yet achieve a square edged hole :D :D
Great Idea !
Excellent idea. Process looks great until the end when a dam suddenly appears! Lol!
That made absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Maybe an explanation on what the fuck they were doing would have been nice for those of us who are not hydroelectric engineers.
They're building an underground cutoff wall for the base of the dam. since you don't want to be in the business of excavating down 50+ feet of earth just to build a wall and then back fill, you use a device that can chew a rectangular hole in the soil layer and fill it with fluid temporarily for it to keep the proper shape. Then once you go deep enough to hit the impervious bedrock stratum, you pump concrete in, which is heavier than the retaining fluid and it sets into a giant column in the ground. Rinse and repeat until you go the width of the dam you're building and...viola, you now have a mostly impermeable shield so that water doesn't creep all the way through an earthen dam.
Simple!
The interim liquid is called Bentonit. Its a clay-water-mineral-mixture, so the walls of the deep hole are not collapsing. The Concretewall created is the backwall of the later dam. This way you can safely excavte the other side, without fear of collaps. You can later also excavate the Water-side, so you get a nice water basin, clean of mud n stuff, since it damages the generator turbines. Im also not a "hydroelectric engineer", but a construction or civil engineer. ;)
A good Lecture
GOD DAM CUTOFF WALL!!

Nice work
I only watched the first minute and it was the longest one of my life
that cement truck can hold a shitload more than you'd think.
10 cubic yards.
500 yards..big one
1nakey1 haha
Very dam impressive good video
Good job
@ doug - they're supervisors, a very important job.
1:40 the guy seems to be standing dangerously close to the falling rock debris
I wish my front yard grass looked that nice
Good Simulation!!!!
Hello
Dear Phan
Very good animation,
I have a question
What kind of software you used for animation?
Animation is excellent
Sir, You're the politest man ever. doopravdy.

Damn Cutoff Wall
Legal ✌️
So what would you be using for reinforcement ? I noticed that there was no animation for what you'd be using and how you apply the re-bar or some other type of mesh you'd be using. Is there something already in the concrete while it gets purred down ? Because the animation show all you have to to is dig pure repeat . Concrete is not strong by itself unless you have something to reinforce it. So what would you be using and how would it be installed ?
music is from cities skylines _D
they use direct mud rotary pumps and shaker to cut the keyways
all this in one day must be a red bull commercial
Who else watched the whole dam video?
عظيم

same technique with Grouting work?
There should be a dumpster to catch the rock cuttings from the shakeout tables.
Amazingngng
dam daniel!
So is the stuff in the pipes Brown 25?
Арматурный каркас нету 🤔долга не служить
Great video. Please advise on the software used to create the animation.
Which machine is used to excavate cut off wall

Después de excavar coloca él material en camiones volteo
Damn...
what software to use
Sounded like the music was from Sim city 2000.
i see massive ground water intrusion messing that whole operation up
長知識了~
Ti is cool
Dam.....
What was the purpose? The wall is some part of the dam? it needs to be shown where its located in the dam....The vid needs some comentary, esp at the end
Agreed, would have like to see a typical foundation dig required for top part of dam. Suppose this would vary which is why it may have been omitted.
That ending really went 0 to 100 pretty damn fast..... seems they left a few steps out
Let’s hope not! 🤔
Wie lange hat saß gedauert das zu animiren
If only it was that quick in reality
fuck yeah
what a small pile of dirt for that huge hole
Jacob Gomer Mike’s is time

If take your eyes off the animation sounds like Beyond the Minds Eye.
WHY IS THE TITLE AND THE DESCRIPTION IN CAPS
Jacob Daniels CUZ WHY NOT
Because it's meant to be yelled. Duh.
Every time it grabs some dirt when they put it down there's less dirt
How did I end up here and why did I watch this complete video...?
How long does it take?
Depends on characteristics of the specific project. Depth and extension of wall. And geology... as main variables 👍
I lost one passage at 5:53
what this app?
hay day
Book this is photeshoped that's the earths crust and you can't do there with out attaching a go pro to that machine
Well...ten people standing around while one is working. Looks like a normal job site to me!
Exactly! 😉
What is purpose of this cuttoff (avoid water ?)?
Yes. It is a wall to prevent seepage under the dam. Seepage over time can create voids that can affect the foundation and structure of the dam with potential catastrophic failures
please, how much deep we can go with this method ?? and how much it coast for a digging of a 100m deep for 1 meter linear ? .. thank you
On average 500 US$ to 1000 US$ per sqm... so in your case price x 100 ...
@@BrasfondGroup thank you
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Not gunna lie i came because of the title being funny to me
Beginning @0:15 you see the same two guys standing there with no work to do like on every other building site.
But they show them filling with cement alone, no bentonite so the wall will crack and slowly fail, plus it will be much harder to excavate and fix. D-
Should have used this on Oak Island 10X
I am confused
انا محتاج تلك الماكينه .. عندي شغل لها في السدود الجوفيه بالسعوديه . ارجو التواصل
Workers standing very near to machine they could get injury
kind of a lot of steps in between making that wall and building a damn, ROFL. What I want to know is how they start building it AFTER the wall goes up.
DAM YOU CUT OFF THE WALL
Tembang kenangan
Watching the Buck's Bunny show was more realistic then this 3D Animation Method , lol.
Никогда не будет так хорошо, из-за материала на станке и глубины залегания.
What is name of this machin please ??? I NEED TO BY IT?
Construction machines are normally really expensive
