    • @kiwikiwi7375
      @kiwikiwi7375 Před 4 lety +8

      Yahya Elmi id like to dissect your comment as it radiates ignorance. The people in 2016 voted to leave the EU, the withdrawal act gives an interim period for a deal to be agreed between both parties before Brexit day- however if no deal is agreed, as even remainers like Phillip Hammond said, no- deal is the cleanest form of Brexit. There is nothing unconstitutional about proroguing parliament, it is normal parliamentary process and perfectly natural in the scheme of things. The argument that it undermines the doctrine of parliamentary scrutiny to hold the executive to account is also rather plane- parliament has had 2 years to prevent a no deal Brexit, and many opportunities to leave on a deal but instead they chose to vote down three of Theresa May’s proposed withdrawal bills(that were very generous to remain voters). It’s smoke and mirrors to say it is undermining constitutional principle, people are complaining because they are worried that under Boris we will actually leave the EU, which these ‘democratic’ remainers still can’t accept( rather contradictory). If anything now, remainers who are weary of a no deal and voted for the bill have shot themselves in the foot, parliament cannot bind its successors under the rule of parliamentary sovereignty- ego following a general election( where conservatives will likely gain seats from labour and Brexit party voters, as labour is now a remain party) boris will secure a majority and legislate for a no deal option. And additionally considering these recent obstructions will delay the government even more, the chances of negotiating a deal are even slimmer, increasing the chances of a no deal. The conersvatives aren’t destroying the country, it was labour who over spent 10 years ago, causing huge economic hits that we are still recovering from today...

      We could build twice as many things if we weren't in the EU because we would keep ALL our own money.

      Lord Lorgan doesn’t matter, democracy is democracy, the public voted to leave and that’s what should happen. It’s disgraceful that some people and some MP’s are trying to go against the people and against democracy and betray the public vote.

    If Boris is booted out tomorrow, you can’t say he didn’t try. He had more balls and had the attention of the emotionless foe across the channel. A real shame our parliament never got behind him. I truly hope the only good to come of this is that Labour will never see another chance in opposition, let alone government.

      Boris wasn't voted in by the people of the UK Theresa May was, he was voted by the party only when May resigned.

      That's the point: they're trying to reject the will of the people. Even here in Australia we can smell the bullshit wafting over from the British Parliament: the turds are in control and shitting all over the British people. They've hog-tied Johnson so that they can beat Brexit to death and democracy with it.
