Templars yeah, i took a photo of myself in a lift mirror which ment something to the cult in cyprus so as revenge they ran the mirror from my bedroom which in the reflection was a blackman sitting there
So in reality the sun was a front and used as a reflection for the thick sea cucumber on the left side of the square which the previous owner left behind when i moved from the flats 😂

Another infomative video Stu. The last curved wall I built was in our garden. My wife wanted a lily pool based on a koi carp plastic liner set into a slope. After much head scratching I built a retaining wall up to the pool across the slope, sank and filled the pool into the slope, built a brick wall up to slightly above the pool edge then built steps up the side of the pool to access the garden above. I was able to build the brick curve by using a plumb bob from the pool edge down to the inner side of the bricks and back filled the space behind with sand. I finished the top with slate cut into voussoirs encircling the whole pool. The outside had to be rendered during Covid 19 and I couldn't get belcast beading so I put up some old garden hosepipe instead. Took down the hosepipe, once render went off, and marked out a horizontal line to trim off the irregular bootom of the render. My wife's comment after finishing was "What took you so long?".

I know I'm not alone in thinking that one day in the near or not so distant future a very, very lucky young man will find himself under your care and will become an outstanding bricklayer and he won't be treated badly. Dunno what the crack is up north but in London a lot of brickies - myself included - come off the hod and are taught on site. I've done my time but I always direct those who're still learning our trade towards your channel. I might have done my time but there's still room for improvement, hence why I'm here.

I would have made my original line as you did, but as I was laying the first course I wound run the gauge around again and make sure I’ve got that accurate curve. Always scrape your mortar off with an upwards motion them mortar won’t keep falling to the ground. Also use a level on several plumbing points around the curve to get an accurate taper.

I watch these videos transfixed, your overall finish is so beautiful and the general public understand the concept of good builders and cowboy builders but not as many grasp that not all builders are created equal and because they don’t have the quality of detail in their job they don’t realise what could be achieved when thought, pride, and attention to detail is all given its dues. I think you’re class mate, the standard of your work is exceptional. The caps you created for the pillar walls (are they pier walls?) were absolutely stunning, just beautiful mate. I’ve been in the building game for about 20 years, just a labourer, worked for chippies, brickies, plasterers, but mainly a plumber, but he did renovations, extensions, full bathroom and kitchen installations, the lot, so I’ve been primed to appreciate good work but now I’m a home owner too I have to say what you do is a cut above. I never knew I could be so mesmerised by bricks lol.
